Chapter 77: Six Paths Power

Inside his psyche, Kurama had merged with his other self, becoming whole again. As soon as he finished that, his absorption rate increased even more.

Fortunately, Naruto was a Chakra powerhouse. Even though he was producing Otsutsuki Chakra, it was still immense.

This made Naruto realize that he was relying on Kurama too much.

He didn’t even check his own condition, not understanding why his Chakra Reserves had decreased.

Then again, twelve-year-old Naruto was pretty easy to fool.

Even if he had the memories of his future self.

Standing in front of Kurama, Minato and Kushina could feel an immense power flowing through Kurama’s body.

It was his Six Paths Senjutsu, balancing the Ten-Tails Chakra.

You see, the Ten-Tails was a tailed beast. Just like the Nine-Tails, its Chakra was neither Senjutsu nor Otsutsuki.

But there were three ways one could use this power.

First, they could use the Ten-Tails to gather enough energy from the planet to create a Chakra Fruit.

Second, they could control the Ten-Tails using the Rinnegan and let it fight on their behalf.

Third, they could become its Jinchuriki.

Madara, Obito, Kaguya, and Hagoromo opted for the third option, but there was a slight difference.

Her genes and her Chakra had merged with the Ten-Tails.

But when Hagoromo became its First Jinchuriki, he had only sealed its Chakra into himself.

That meant he was still a Jinchuriki, but he was never influenced by Kaguya’s Chakra.

She was the first one to merge with it, and her powers also came from it.

So, when Madara and Obito became Ten-Tails Jinchuriki, they were essentially using the power of Kaguya plus the Ten-Tails.

And since the Ten-Tails was made entirely out of nature energy, when Otsutsuki Chakra was merged with it, Madara and Obito opened Six Paths Senjutsu Chakra.

Naruto chose a different route. He combined the Chakra of the Nine Beasts with the Otsutsuki Chakra he gained from Hagoromo and Nature energy.

This energy was later known as Six Paths Senjutsu Chakra, but by combining it with Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, Naruto could improve it even further.

This improvement was a stronger version of the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki mode.

Except for lacking large reserves and immortality, Naruto was basically a stronger version of the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki.

That’s why Naruto could simply use his shadow clones to fight Madara’s limbo clones.

Limbo Clones weren’t the same as shadow clones. They didn’t divide chakra, but they possessed the same strength as Madara.

But Naruto was easily able to seal one of them, which was enough to prove the growth in his strength using just clones.

Unfortunately, this strength mostly came from the fact that he could use enhanced Six Paths Senjutsu.

That’s why his Six Paths Sage Mode became weaker later on, despite the fact that his base strength had grown significantly.

He didn’t have Otsutsuki Chakra. He was basically using a combination of Nine Beasts Chakra and nature energy.

Right now, Naruto didn’t have the chakra of the Nine Beasts, but after Kurama’s transformation, Naruto would gain the same level of power as that.

Not only that, but he would also have the eyes.

Madara didn’t just have Six Paths Senjutsu. He also had Rinnegan.

Of course, that wouldn’t be enough to defeat Naruto and Sasuke. No matter how powerful Madara was, there was one thing he lacked.

Madara lacked one-hit kill Jutsu.

Unless Madara used All Killing Ash Bones, Madara basically couldn’t kill Naruto or Sasuke.

But Naruto and Sasuke could seal him with just a touch.

Of course, Madara also had Rinne-Sharingan, but that was not his Dojutsu.

That belonged to Kaguya.

Even the Sage of Six Paths Rinne-Sharingan only came to existence because he sealed the chakra of the Ten-Tails into himself.

Of course, one could say by that logic, Madara’s Rinnegan belonged to Hagoromo.

But that’s not true.

Madara awakened his own Rinnegan.

Sasuke’s Rinnegan originated with the Sage of Six Paths. The reason was actually very simple.

Sasuke had already received Wood Release Chakra from Kabuto. He was already Indra’s reincarnation, meaning he had that Chakra in him.

By all logic, Sasuke should awaken Rinnegan on his own.

Unfortunately, Indra’s Chakra was already scattered when Madara awakened his Rinnegan.

Sasuke only received half of Indra’s Chakra because the other half created the Rinnegan.

So, Hagoromo gave him the Chakra of the Six Paths to help him awaken the Rinnegan.

But just like how Naruto couldn’t produce Otsutsuki Chakra, Sasuke was no different.

It was just like Kakashi’s situation. He received Obito’s eye, but his body couldn’t produce Uchiha Chakra.

So, he couldn’t close his Sharingan. On the other hand, Madara was able to do it because he had essentially awakened Otsutsuki Chakra.

That was known as the Power of the Sage of Six Paths mentioned by Kabuto.

It was the combination of Ashura’s Chakra in Hashirama and Indra’s Chakra in Madara.

Since Sasuke’s body couldn’t produce Otsutsuki Chakra, he couldn’t turn off his Rinnegan and only use its ability like Kakashi.

This was why future Kurama gave the knowledge of the Karma Technique to past Kurama.

It wouldn’t be useful anymore, but by using that knowledge, they could help Sasuke gain the power of an Otsutsuki as well.

After all, Kurama remembered an Otsutsuki traveled to the past to take Chakra from Naruto but was defeated by Boruto’s Parent-Child Rasengan.

The reason why Boruto was able to do it was simply that his body was already producing Otsutsuki Chakra.

So, when that Chakra was enhanced by Naruto’s Tailed Beast Chakra, the Rasengan produced by that Chakra was strong enough to defeat that Otsutsuki.

Of course, there was also the fact that his body was severely injured and depleted by poison.

If even Kawaki could be put to sleep by Mitsuki’s poison, why wouldn’t this weaker Otsutsuki be affected by similar poison?

So, Kurama planned to use this technique to siphon that Otsutsuki’s Chakra and use it to carve Karma onto Sasuke.

But Kurama could only do this when his transformation was completed.

So, they still had to wait quite a long time.
