“Well, there’s nothing else for us to do in the North Blue. Let’s head back to the New World.”
Shin’s main purpose for coming to the North Blue was the Op-Op Fruit. Now that he had it, there was no need to stay.
Holding the Op-Op Fruit, Shin hadn’t decided who should eat it yet.
Whoever ate this fruit would undoubtedly become powerful in the future, at least reaching the level of an Admiral candidate. It was a great opportunity.
But keeping it was useless to Shin—he had no intention of eating any Devil Fruit himself.
“I’ll hold onto it for now. I’ll see who performs well and then consider who to give this Fruit to.”
Shin tossed the Op-Op Fruit into the Kamui dimension. Once inside, as long as Shin didn’t take it out, the fruit was effectively gone from this world. No one could get it.
————
“Captain, if you don’t mind me asking—what exactly is your Devil Fruit ability?” Momousagi asked Shin, trying to gather some information.
“Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t,” Hancock said, glancing at Momousagi coolly.
“I was just curious, not trying to pry.”
Momousagi simply waved her hand, dropping the matter. She hadn’t expected him to answer anyway. Still, she believed that if she spent enough time with Shin Uzumaki, she’d eventually uncover the truth about his Devil Fruit ability.
She had only just begun her undercover mission—it was best to stay cautious and avoid exposing her identity.
Amatsuki Toki glanced over with a trace of regret. Truth be told, she was just as curious about Shin’s Devil Fruit ability.
But she had no ill intentions, just pure curiosity.
Compared to Momousagi, Amatsuki Toki’s intrigue was entirely sincere.

To return to the New World, Shin didn’t plan to go back through Reverse Mountain into the Grand Line and then into the New World again.
That was too much trouble.
Shin intended to cut straight through the Calm Belt from the East Blue to reach the New World—a shortcut no rookie pirate from the Four Seas would ever dare attempt.
The Sea Kings in the Calm Belt were enough to lead them to their deaths.
Both the North Blue and the West Blue had access to the New World through the Calm Belt, but even if one managed to slip in unscathed, they would inevitably clash with the fearsome pirates who ruled those seas.
The traditional route through Reverse Mountain and the Grand Line was essentially a proving ground. Only the most elite pirates who survived that gauntlet were worthy of challenging the New World.
————
As Shin was about to return to the New World…
Marine Headquarters, Marineford—was in an uproar.
Sengoku stood there sweating nervously as he faced Tsuru.
“…” As for Garp—he’d already been turned into laundry by Tsuru’s Wash-Wash Fruit and was currently hanging on a clothesline.
The dignified Marine Hero reduced to this… it was a pitiful sight.
Worse yet, it had drawn a crowd of spectators. Garp’s legendary reputation was in tatters.
Tsuru’s Wash-Wash Fruit could literally wash enemies like laundry—flattening them out and hanging them up to dry on a clothesline.
Anyone washed by the fruit would be completely drained of strength. It could even cleanse evil thoughts from people’s hearts. The ability was actually incredibly powerful. If it could truly wash away anything, it would be virtually unstoppable.
————
“SENGOKU… START TALKING.”
Tsuru said to Sengoku with a cold face.
“Tsuru, you also know, the only person I could send… was Gion. She was the most suitable for the undercover mission.”
Sengoku said with a bitter smile, while reprimanding the onlookers to leave.
“Then do you know how dangerous it is?? A slight mistake and Gion could die at Shin Uzumaki’s hands.”
Tsuru’s expression was very stern. This was not a joke. If an undercover agent was discovered, there was only one way to go—death.
“Tsuru, it’s actually not as bad as you think. Gion has both wisdom and talent—she won’t easily expose her identity.”
Sengoku comforted Tsuru, and also didn’t want to become like Garp.
Being turned into laundry and hung out to dry while countless Marines watched… it was absolutely humiliating—
Garp being like this was entirely because Sengoku had set him up.
Garp didn’t fight back when Tsuru struck—didn’t even attempt to flee. Sure, he could get away once, but eventually she’d catch him.
————
“Hmph… do you even know I was captured by Shin Uzumaki? If it hadn’t been for Gion, I might never have made it back. I wonder if she’s fallen under suspicion.”
Tsuru’s face was filled with worry.
“So don’t send Gion on undercover missions anymore. Have Kizaru and the others bring her back,” Tsuru said to Sengoku.
“WHAT???”
Sengoku was shocked to hear Tsuru had been captured. But after hearing Tsuru’s request, a conflicted expression appeared on Sengoku’s face.
“No. If we do that, Gion will be in even more danger. I believe Gion can gain Shin Uzumaki’s trust.”
Sengoku shook his head.
He wasn’t wrong about this. Acting rashly would only put Gion in more danger. So he had no choice but to refuse Tsuru’s request. As for whether she’d be furious with him… well, he’d just have to lay low for a while.
“…” Tsuru looked deeply at Sengoku, not speaking.
————
Ten minutes later, Sengoku joined Garp on the clothesline, hanging out to dry in the sun.
It was clear Tsuru was absolutely furious. She’d shown him zero mercy—if she’d had any respect left for him, she never would’ve humiliated him like this.
This was mortifying for Sengoku…
The Marine soldiers would probably be laughing about this for weeks.
After hanging there all day, Garp and Sengoku were finally restored to normal. Garp looked at Sengoku with a deadpan expression.
“Sengoku, this whole mess had nothing to do with me—and you dragged me right into it. So what exactly do you think I should do about that???”
Garp clenched his fists, clearly itching for a fight. If Sengoku didn’t give him a damn good explanation, Garp was going to lay him out right there.
“If I hadn’t dragged you into this, Tsuru would’ve murdered me. Sorry about that, Garp.” Sengoku’s expression showed genuine regret.
He had definitely thrown Garp under the bus, dragging him down with him.
“Save the excuses. Find us a deserted island—Let’s have a fight.” Garp was also really angry.
————
After hanging there like laundry for half a day, Garp’s whole body ached. If he didn’t beat the hell out of Sengoku, he’d never get this anger out of his system.
“Alright, I’ll accompany you.”
Sengoku nodded. It was the perfect excuse to lay low for a while and avoid running into Tsuru again. He’d wait until she cooled off. Sengoku knew damn well that Tsuru wouldn’t be letting him off the hook anytime soon.
“What’s going through your head? Trying to run away? I’m telling you right now—IF I DON’T KICK YOUR ASS, I’M NOT WORTHY OF THE NAME MONKEY D. GARP!”
Garp grabbed Sengoku’s collar, dragged him, and left.
Then he boarded a warship—Garp’s personal vessel. He dragged Sengoku along and left Marine Headquarters, actually heading for a deserted island to settle their score.
With their level of power, they couldn’t just fight anywhere. The collateral damage would be catastrophic.
