BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Sengoku’s body was sent flying, crashing a huge deep pit on the island.
“Sengoku, you’ve gotten weaker—”
Garp threw another punch, this one aimed straight at Sengoku’s face—his expression twisted in panic as the fist came flying.
From the beating Sengoku had already taken, it was obvious he was getting demolished. Garp was absolutely destroying him.
“GARP, ARE YOU FOR REAL?”
Sengoku was hit again, his face swollen.
“Of course. Do you think I’m playing with you?? You’d better hope you can take a punch—or you’re done for.” Garp clenched his fists and walked towards Sengoku step by step.
Sengoku’s face changed again and again. He knew Garp’s strength. In a fight, two of him might not be a match for Garp.
Purupurupuru!
At this moment, Sengoku’s Den Den Mushi suddenly rang. Sengoku immediately took out the Den Den Mushi from his pocket—
During the fight with Garp, it was a miracle that this poor little thing wasn’t killed.
“This is Fleet Admiral Sengoku of Marine Headquarters. What do you have to report?”
“Hmph, I won’t be accused of fighting dirty. I’ll wait until you’re done talking.” Garp held back from attacking.
But gradually, Garp watched Sengoku’s expression shift from bad to worse, his face growing more and more grim. This made Garp’s heart start to wonder. What the hell was going on? Or was this bastard Sengoku just putting on an act to throw him off?
“Okay, I understand.”
Sengoku put down the Den Den Mushi and stood there with a straight face.
————
“Hey, what’s going on?” Garp asked Sengoku.
Sengoku didn’t answer. He walked toward the warship nearby. Seeing his condition, Garp didn’t try to stop him or ask questions.
They had decades of history together—fighting side by side on the seas, hunting down legendary pirates. Garp knew Sengoku inside and out. And he could tell this wasn’t an act.
Whatever had happened, it was clearly devastating for his old friend. So Garp gave him space.
When they returned to Marine Headquarters, tears flowed from Sengoku’s eyes.
————
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Garp, seeing Sengoku’s appearance, although he didn’t want to ask, he couldn’t help but ask.
To be honest, this was the first time Garp had seen Sengoku cry.
“I received news that Rosinante was killed. His identity was discovered by Doflamingo, and then he was killed,” Sengoku said with some pain.
Rosinante—also known as Corazon—was dead. The news had finally reached them. Sengoku was devastated. After all, Donquixote Rosinante wasn’t just some expendable agent—he was his adopted son.
Sengoku genuinely loved him.
A lifetime of fighting pirates had left Sengoku with no family of his own. But Rosinante, though adopted, had been like a real son to him.
Garp said nothing. He knew exactly who Rosinante was. All he could do was rest a hand on Sengoku’s shoulder.
An older man outliving someone younger—it was every parent’s nightmare. Garp understood that pain all too well. He’d lived through something similar.
His son, Monkey D. Dragon, wasn’t dead—but his choices had made him dead to Garp in every way that mattered.
Originally, he wanted him to become a Marine and inherit his will. But he not only didn’t become a Marine—but also became the World’s Worst Criminal—opposing the World Government.
If he ever faced Dragon again, it would be father against son on opposite sides of a battlefield. And his grandson Luffy? The kid was hell-bent on becoming a pirate.
You had to admit, the Monkey family was one for the history books—
The grandfather: Marine Hero. The son: Revolutionary leader. The grandson: future Pirate King wannabe.

“You received the news, right?”
Tsuru suddenly walked over and asked Sengoku with a straight face.
At this time, Sengoku’s face was bruised and swollen (beaten by Garp), and his clothes were tattered, looking very wretched.
But everyone could feel the anger in Sengoku’s heart.
“I’m telling you, Sengoku, if one day, I hear such news about Gion, I will kill you.” Tsuru said to Sengoku.
This was not Tsuru joking. She really wasn’t joking with Sengoku. If one day something happened to Gion, Tsuru would really have the thought of killing Sengoku.
“I promise you, even if I have to risk my life, I will not let anything happen to Gion.” Sengoku took a deep breath and said to Tsuru.
No matter what it cost him, Sengoku would make sure nothing happened to Gion. Otherwise, he’d never be able to face Tsuru again.
He knew how much Gion meant to her—closer than blood sisters. If anything happened to that girl, Tsuru would lose her mind completely.
Sengoku was already regretting sending Gion undercover. If her cover got blown, the fallout would be catastrophic.
Unfortunately, it was too late to turn back now. The plan was already in motion, and there was no calling it off. Getting close to Shin Uzumaki was one thing—getting away from him was another story entirely.
————
Tsuru remained silent, but her expression toward Sengoku softened slightly—not quite so ice-cold anymore.
But looking at Garp’s eyes, they still hadn’t changed.
“Tsuru, this really has nothing to do with me. I didn’t participate at all.” Garp said to Tsuru with a bitter face.
“Didn’t participate?? Couldn’t you have stopped it?” Tsuru asked Garp coldly.
“If I’d had any chance to stop it, I would have. By the time I found out, this bastard had already sent Gion out on the mission. You think I beat his ass for fun?”
Garp quickly explained to Tsuru.
He couldn’t stand the thought of Tsuru misunderstanding him any further. At the same time, Garp shot Sengoku a withering glare. But remembering that Sengoku had just learned of his adopted son’s death and was drowning in grief, Garp held back from pushing him any harder.
————
“Really?” Tsuru glanced at Garp.
“Of course. If I’d known, I never would’ve let Gion go undercover. What kind of monster even comes up with an idea like that?”
After Garp’s words, Sengoku’s expression darkened. Was he deliberately trying to twist the knife? But Sengoku had no comeback. After all, what he’d done was genuinely shitty—deliberately dragging Garp into his mess.
“I’ll believe your words for now.”
Tsuru seemed to believe Garp, which made him finally relax a little. He had been holding his breath before—now he could finally relax.
“Should we inform the Five Elders about the Op-Op Fruit? After all, they wanted it for themselves. Now it looks like Shin Uzumaki has it.” Tsuru spoke up.
Originally, Tsuru was supposed to capture Doflamingo and secure the Op-Op Fruit. But Shin had interfered and thrown everything off course.
Honestly, even without Shin’s involvement, if things had played out naturally, the Marines probably wouldn’t have gotten their hands on Doflamingo or the fruit anyway.
So the end result was the same. But with the Op-Op Fruit now in Shin’s possession, there was no telling how the Five Elders would react.
