Naruto: Adopted Son of Minato
Chapter 754: NASM - 754
"Looks like Harumiko is really enjoying herself here. Seeing such a miraculous lake is truly something worth celebrating. I’m sure today’s memories will stay with her for a long time. But there’s still one very important thing on my mind: I still don’t know when that Black Tortoise is going to show up!" Hiroshi thought to himself as he watched her happy expression.
At that moment, Hiroshi activated his Golden Pupils, using his special vision to scan the lakebed and see if there was any hidden place where the creature could be hiding.
After all, this turtle was supposed to be enormous—otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to live in such a massive lake. That meant there had to be a large enough space at the bottom to accommodate its huge body.
"I never thought this Black Tortoise could live in a place like this and keep the water so clean and unpolluted. It seems like it’s actually quite a benevolent creature. But no matter—sooner or later, it’s going to be my prey!" Hiroshi said with a smile as he carefully observed everything beneath the surface.
After watching for a few minutes, he realised there was more to this lake than met the eye. Hidden deep below was an enormous cavern, and right inside it was a turtle-like creature resting peacefully. That must be exactly what he was here to find.
"Just as I suspected, this lake really is full of mysteries. Who would have thought there was such a huge cave down here? And sure enough, the Black Tortoise is inside. It looks like defeating it might take a bit of effort—it’s definitely massive in size. But that’s okay; every mission the System gives me is always within my ability to handle!" Hiroshi thought, gazing at the giant creature sleeping deep below.
He could tell that the tortoise wasn’t going to wake up anytime soon, so he slowly walked back over to Harumiko’s side.
"So, Harumiko? What do you think? This place is amazing, isn’t it? Just like the legends said! It seems we definitely made the right choice coming here. And it really is magical—there’s never any wind here, so the surface stays perfectly calm, just like a giant mirror laid flat on the ground!" Hiroshi said warmly, smiling at her.
Harumiko nodded happily in agreement. She truly was overjoyed to be here and see this scenery with her own eyes. This was definitely a memory she would cherish forever.
"I really am so happy! Finally seeing this legendary place... it’s even more beautiful than I imagined. Standing right here, we can see our reflections clearly on the water, and look—there are little fish swimming around down there too!" Harumiko said, beaming with joy.
Seeing her this happy made Hiroshi happy too. Bringing her here really had been a great decision. This place truly was special, and people would surely come from far away for years to come just to see it.
"As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. You’ve learned something new today, and that’s great too. Let’s just enjoy ourselves here all day. When we get hungry at noon, we’ll find something to eat, and later we’ll head back and get some good rest," Hiroshi said, gently patting her head.
Harumiko nodded, her smile never fading. That was exactly what she wanted—to spend the whole day here. They planned to leave the day after tomorrow, and after that, they would finally start their journey back home.
"It’s probably still too early. Right now, there are less than ten visitors here. Most people probably won’t come until noon or the afternoon. I guess we really are a bit unusual coming this early! I was worried it would be crowded already, but clearly, I didn’t need to worry about that at all," Hiroshi thought as he glanced around at the empty surroundings.
Now, a bold plan formed in his mind. Since the Black Tortoise wasn’t coming out to him, he would simply go down there to it. That way, he could defeat it quietly without anyone noticing.
He had already seen clearly with his Golden Pupils: the cavern below was huge, and surprisingly, it contained air, almost like a space connected to the outside world. There was some water inside, but not enough to stop him—he would be able to breathe and move freely down there.
"That’s actually a great idea. I’ll find a moment later to dive down and finish it off quietly. No one will see a thing, and there won’t be any big commotion. That’s definitely the smartest way to handle this," Hiroshi thought, looking affectionately at Harumiko, who was still enjoying herself by the water.
