"Shan Tong? HAHAHAHA!" Wen Qingye threw his head back and roared with laughter upon hearing Hei Xuan's words.

Hei Xuan's expression turned grim. "What? Aren't you afraid? He's a Life and Death Realm expert, an existence as powerful as Elder Lim Tian!"

"He's already gone for good." Wen Qingye's laughter died down. He stared into Hei Xuan's eyes and said flatly.

"What! You're lying!" Upon hearing Wen Qingye's words, Hei Xuan's face contorted, her eyes filled with disbelief as she let out a piercing shriek.

Wen Qingye looked at the woman before him, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. 'This woman has a red tattoo. She must be an extremely important figure in the Heaven-Burying Sect.'

'She's different from Ou Zeming. He's the grandson of the Heaven-Burying Sect's Great Elder Ouyang and holds no real authority within the sect. But this woman… she must hold some sort of official position to have a tattoo like this.'

Hei Xuan glanced at Le Qian, who was lying on the ground coughing up blood. Her mind raced, and she took a small step back.

"Trying to run? It's too late." Seeing her intent to retreat, Wen Qingye leaped into the air. Surging Primordial Qi gathered in his palm, instantly cutting off all of Hei Xuan's escape routes.

As Hei Xuan watched Wen Qingye descend from the sky like a diving goshawk, she felt her heart stop. Her face turned deathly pale.

Only when Wen Qingye was nearly upon her, the gale from his approach whipping at the hem of her clothes, did she snap out of her stupor. She hurriedly mustered the Primordial Qi in her body and thrust out a palm to meet his attack.

BAM!

In the next instant!

Hei Xuan felt as if her palm had struck a great mountain. A numbness spread through half her body, and she stumbled back several steps.

'Heavens! Wasn't Wen Qingye only at the Yin-Yang Realm a short while ago? How can he be this powerful?'

An idea sparked in Hei Xuan's mind. She was filled with regret for coming here to provide backup, all in a rush to claim credit. As she continued to retreat, she reached Le Qian's side. A decisive glint appeared in her eyes. "You said you'd do anything for me, didn't you?"

Le Qian, still on the ground, froze for a moment. Then, as if he understood, he gritted his teeth and said, "I'll do anything for you. Even die for you."

After speaking, Le Qian struggled to his feet. He looked at the approaching Wen Qingye, his eyes filled with tragic resolve. Without a hint of hesitation, he charged forward.

His body accelerated, moving like a bolt of lightning. Black arcs of electricity flickered around him, making him resemble a ferocious black dragon—fierce, domineering, and with an endlessly surging aura.

"AHH!"

Le Qian's eyes looked as if they were about to burst, glowing with a red light. His face was twisted, and surrounded by the swirling black energy, he looked terrifying.

"Go! Now!!!"

He knew his life was over. In that moment, a flood of images appeared in his mind: the carefree days when he first joined the Celestial Thunder Hall, the simple pleasure of looking up at the sun, and the face of the woman he was infatuated with, the one for whom he had faced life and death.

BAM!

But in the next moment, it all vanished, leaving only endless darkness.

Life, and soul.

To not know who you live for is to be lost.

Wen Qingye's brow furrowed slightly. 'I didn't expect Le Qian would be willing to fight to the death for this woman. Such determination.'

Seeing this, Hei Xuan's eyes remained fixed and unmoving. Without a moment's hesitation, she turned and fled into the distance, running faster than she ever had in her life.

"Azure Wave!"

The One Thought Sword flew from its sheath. In the next instant, frost and severe cold filled the entire space, a bone-chilling chill rampaging madly outward.

"Cold Ice Sword Technique, First Sword! Cold Rainfall!"

A slash cut down from the heavens, as if ten thousand streams of icy rain were falling at once, its might boundless and surging.

BOOM! BOOM!

The very earth trembled. A violent and peerless fluctuation of Primordial Qi, like a towering tidal wave, spread out endlessly in all directions.

Under the endless icy rain, the black Thunder Dragon's light slowly dimmed. Le Qian's figure gradually reappeared, then froze in place.

His body was covered in countless, densely-packed sword marks. The light faded from his eyes, and with a THUD, he collapsed to the ground.

"What you cared for, what you gave your heart to, was worth less than nothing in her eyes. Why be so devoted?"

Wen Qingye gave the breathless Le Qian an indifferent glance, then shot forward, paying the masterless corpse no more mind as he chased after Hei Xuan.

Hei Xuan hadn't been running for long before she felt a frantic aura surging toward her from behind. 'That useless oaf Le Qian,' she thought venomously. 'Not long ago, he told me he'd broken through to the Destruction Realm Eighth Layer Heaven in his cultivation. But when I actually needed him, he turned out to be completely useless.'

The surrounding scenery flew backward. Wen Qingye watched the beautiful figure ahead of him. 'This woman is truly ruthless. It seems Le Qian, a disciple of the Celestial Thunder Hall, was completely wrapped around her finger. He threw away his life and his bright future for her.'

'This woman's identity is not simple. I certainly won't let her go easily.'

POUND POUND POUND!

Hei Xuan knew her life was in mortal danger. All the Primordial Qi in her body erupted as she fled, but she couldn't hide the shock in her heart. The scene from moments ago replayed in her mind again and again. 'I never imagined Wen Qingye could be this powerful. It completely shatters my understanding of him.'

"Trying to run?" A faint smile touched Wen Qingye's lips as he sent a palm strike toward Hei Xuan.

"Pfft!"

Hei Xuan felt as if a mountain had slammed into her back. She violently coughed up a mouthful of blood, and the speed she had just built up suddenly increased—only now, she was plummeting forward.

CRASH!

Her entire body smashed heavily into the ground, sending a dense web of cracks spreading out in all directions.

The next moment, her body was lifted into the air.

Wen Qingye grabbed Hei Xuan by the neck. "Talk," he said coldly. "Tell me everything you know. All the connections between the Heaven-Burying Sect and Taiyi Pavilion, and any secrets you have."

A faint thread of golden Primordial Qi flowed toward Hei Xuan's Shenmen Acupoint, but she didn't notice it.

"Cough, cough, cough... You're... choking me..." Hei Xuan's eyes darted toward Wen Qingye's arm.

Wen Qingye loosened his grip, and Hei Xuan's body dropped to the ground. As soon as she landed, she began to gasp desperately for fresh air.

When she finally caught her breath and looked up, she saw Wen Qingye staring at her without blinking, a slight smile on his lips.

"Wh-what are you going to do?" Hei Xuan kicked her legs back, shuffling away as she spoke in astonishment.

Wen Qingye said indifferently, "Tell me what I just asked you."

"In your dreams!" Hei Xuan's eyes narrowed as she barked out a sharp reply.

Wen Qingye looked at the woman before him. Hei Xuan met his gaze directly, showing no fear.

"I will kill you. Do you believe that?"

"I'm not afraid. Do you believe that?" Hei Xuan sneered, a look of defiance in her eyes.
