Myriad Dragon Divine Sovereign
Chapter 484 494: Hei Xuan Appears
SWOOSH!
The Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi in the surrounding area began to gather wildly. Black phantoms rose ceaselessly from the ground, blotting out the sun and casting a shadow over everything, mirroring the massive black wave in the sky.
"The Third Form of the Undying Seal Technique! Judgment in Yama Hall!"
BOOM!
Behind Wen Qingye, an ancient black hall slowly materialized. It was wreathed in black miasma and radiated a ghastly, terrifying aura, as several forlorn souls seemed to drift around it.
"You possess a Martial Art of this caliber? What a waste." A flicker of greed crossed Le Qian's eyes as he watched Wen Qingye execute such a powerful technique.
"Die!"
Without giving Wen Qingye another chance to speak, Le Qian sneered and thrust his palm toward him.
BOOM!
The moment he spoke, a humming tremor ran through the world. Bolts of lightning churned within the giant black wave, carrying with them the awesome might of the heavens.
Meanwhile, the hall behind Wen Qingye radiated a boundless, majestic aura as a massive black seal descended from the sky, hurtling toward the black wave.
Seeing this, Le Qian's lips curled into a cold smile.
The instant the massive black wave and the seal collided, the Thunder Dragons surging within the wave struck, and the seal shattered violently on impact.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A deafening roar erupted as the Undying Seal was completely annihilated by the immense shockwave. The phantom of Yama Hall behind Wen Qingye began to crack before instantly turning to nothing, vanishing without a trace.
Le Qian sneered at Wen Qingye. 'With your pathetic strength, and that Demon Beast of yours surely gravely wounded, all you can do now is wait to die.'
But as the sound of the shockwave erupted across the sky, Wen Qingye tilted his head back. He gazed at the massive black wave rolling toward him like a tidal wave, his expression still showing no change. He simply brought his hands together again, the seal he was forming abruptly changing!
The surging Primordial Qi behind him transformed once more, violently rippling outward.
The Primordial Qi for miles around suddenly stagnated. Then, the sky darkened, churning with boundless black currents as a massive phantom materialized directly in front of Wen Qingye, poised to block the tumultuous, surging wave.
"The Fifth Form of the Undying Seal Technique! Regret at the Netherworld Gate!"
Wen Qingye mobilized almost all the Primordial Qi in his body, pushing his current cultivation to its absolute limit.
As the phantom appeared, the massive Netherworld Gate stood tall between them. A seal shot out from before the gate, and this enormous seal slammed into the black wave in a fearless, head-on collision.
Le Qian's expression changed. He hastily circulated the Primordial Qi in his body, and the roiling black wave surged menacingly toward the seal.
DONG!
At the instant of impact, that patch of sky seemed to distort. In the next moment, a deafening boom reverberated across the heavens as black waves and roiling Primordial Qi swept out, blanketing everything.
Le Qian bore the brunt of the impact. The incomparably berserk Primordial Qi slammed into him head-on. His face went pale, and he was sent flying.
Le Qian was sent flying, his body slamming heavily into a massive boulder. It was as if he'd been imprinted into the stone as cracks spiderwebbed outward. The entire cliff face shattered, sending a cascade of rubble raining down.
He struggled free and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. He was a wretched sight—his clothes were mostly shredded, and his face was a ghastly, shifting pale. He lifted his head to look toward the distant sky.
There stood Wen Qingye, a trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth, his body unyielding against the wind. He stared back at Le Qian, his face devoid of expression. A sense of dread began to creep into Le Qian's heart.
"Tell me everything you know," Wen Qingye said slowly, looking at Le Qian, "and I'll give you a quick death."
Le Qian took a ragged breath, suppressing the disbelief in his heart. He raised an eyebrow and retorted, "What do you want to know?"
Wen Qingye said calmly, "The distribution of the Heaven-Burying Sect's forces. Tell me everything you know."
One of the reasons the Celestial Profound Sect had never managed to completely eradicate the Heaven-Burying Sect was that its members were like wily rabbits with many burrows; their specific hideouts were impossible to find. Another reason was the sect's formidable strength, not to mention the shadow of the Taiyi Pavilion looming behind it. Attacking them was a delicate matter with far-reaching consequences, which was why the Celestial Profound Sect had always exercised restraint.
Le Qian clutched his chest and frowned. "You're really overestimating me. How would I know about the distribution of the Heaven-Burying Sect's forces?"
Wen Qingye's eyes were calm and detached. "Then in my opinion," he said, "you have no reason to exist."
With that, Wen Qingye moved. Like a gust of wind, he floated lightly to a stop in front of Le Qian.
"Wait!"
Feeling the wind roaring in his ears, Le Qian's eyes widened in terror. He forced a breath from his chest and shouted desperately.
"Oh?" Wen Qingye smiled. "Remembered something? Tell me. If I'm satisfied with what you have to say, I'll let you go."
Le Qian's gaze was unfocused. "You'll really let me go?" he stammered.
"That depends on whether your information is worth your life," Wen Qingye said with a smile.
"Actually, it wasn't just me this time. There was also..."
"Le Qian!"
Suddenly, a sharp cry rang out from the distance. A flicker of joy lit up Le Qian's eyes.
Wen Qingye looked in the direction of the voice. A small black dot was slowly approaching, gradually taking the form of a woman dressed in black. It was none other than Hei Xuan of the Heaven-Burying Sect.
Hei Xuan stared coldly at Le Qian and snorted. "Le Qian, you dare betray me?"
"No, how could I betray you?" Le Qian grew extremely agitated and shook his head vigorously.
Wen Qingye's eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the woman before him. 'Her cultivation is the same as Le Qian's, Destruction Realm Eighth Layer Heaven, but her aura is unstable. She obviously used some Secret Technique to break through. Barring any miracles, she doesn't have much of a future.'
'Who is she?' he wondered. 'Why is her arrival affecting Le Qian so much?'
Hei Xuan's gaze shifted from Wen Qingye to Le Qian. "Le Qian, you were actually defeated by Wen Qingye?" she asked, puzzled. "What on earth is going on? And where are Elder Shan Tong and the twelve other sect members?"
Hei Xuan paid Wen Qingye no mind, acting as if he wasn't even there. In her mind, this ambush was supposed to be foolproof and perfectly executed, so she was completely confident.
Le Qian gave a bitter smile. "You shouldn't have come."
The next instant, the situation changed dramatically.
"Get out of here!" Le Qian roared, suddenly charging toward Wen Qingye.
Wen Qingye sneered. "The Desperate Struggle of the Trapped Beast? I gave you a chance to live, and you didn't even cherish it."
BOOM!
He struck out with his palm, unleashing his supreme might.
"Ugh!"
Le Qian's body was once again sent flying backward, as if he were weightless, and he spat out a mouthful of crimson blood.
"What's going on?" Hei Xuan watched Le Qian get thrown back heavily, unable to process what was happening for a moment.
'How could a single, casual palm strike from Wen Qingye possess such power?'
"You're from the Heaven-Burying Sect as well, I take it?" Wen Qingye's gaze fell upon the red tattoo on Hei Xuan's wrist. "And it looks like your status is anything but simple," he added, a thoughtful look in his eyes.
Hei Xuan's gaze turned cold. "Wen Qingye, what do you think you're doing?" she snapped. "An expert from my sect at the Life and Death Realm, Elder Shan Tong, is nearby. He came specifically for you."
