Chapter 428 - Chapter 428: Chapter 421: Little Fatty's Special Reward

Chapter 428: Chapter 421: Little Fatty’s Special Reward

The siblings spent another day in Beijing, where Tang Yuxin took her brother to a nearby supermarket. She bought him lots of snacks to eat on the train, to save him from going hungry and act up out of boredom.

By the time they boarded the train, it was already the afternoon of the next day.

Little Chengcheng happily bounced around on the train berth. Luckily, Tang Yuxin managed to get a lower bunk in the soft sleeper coach this time. As there were fewer people and more space, otherwise, it wouldn’t have been able for him to bounce around as much.

The two-day and two-night train ride went smoothly. Tang Yuxin was used to taking care of Chengcheng. This time, he was exceptionally well-behaved and listened to his sister. He seemed to understand that there might be villains on the train. If he got kidnapped and lost, he would have to become someone else’s child. He wouldn’t be able to see his parents or sister or enjoy nice snacks anymore. Hence, for the sake of future snacks and his family, Little Fatty remembered clearly that he must never be taken away by bad people. So he became even more behaved, obedient, and sensible.

When they got off the train, Tang Zhijun’s car was already waiting for them at the station.

“Uncle, Uncle…” Chengcheng happily shook his little chubby hand and ran towards Tang Zhijun. Tang Zhijun easily picked up Little Fatty, and upon lifting him, burst into laughter. “My Little Chengcheng is growing so big! He’s gained weight and looks chubby again, which is more adorable. If he were thin, he would look like Tang Yuxin when she was small, which was a great worry for us brothers. It’s rare for the little guy to gain weight now, so he mustn’t lose weight again.”

Chengcheng chatted incessantly with his uncle about his experiences in Beijing, including his airplane ride where he saw huge cotton balls in the sky. Tang Zhijun truly felt how great it was for a child to have the opportunity to travel. Just look at their Little Chengcheng; his horizon broadened after he stepped out of home, as he seemed to have matured and understood more things. His speech could often amuse adults too.

When they reached Li Tang Village, before they could reach their home, Ren Li was already waiting for them outside. It had been over a month since she last saw her son. Even though she had always been with Tang Zhinian in Qing’an, she could still see her son when she returned at night. She hadn’t experienced not seeing her son for over a month before. She dreamed of the little guy every day and wondered how he was doing.

Whether he had behaved, obeyed, ate well, or slept well.

The moment Tang Zhijun got Chengcheng out of the car, her tears uncontrollably welled up.

My Little Fatty.

“Mummy…” Little Fatty waddled over with his chubby legs. This one month of great nutrition had fattened him back up to his previous adorable chubby state. He looked white and chubby, just like a freshly-steamed bun.

“Chengcheng,” Ren Li picked up Little Fatty, her heart ached, and she felt like crying. Her son was only just saved and now he was to contribute to the country. She resisted the comparison in her mind that it was like sending her son off to war. Even though she was reluctant, in the end, she could only tearfully and grittingly see her son off. She was terrified every day. Thankfully, Little Fatty was back.

“Mummy…” Little Fatty rubbed his little face against Ren Li’s neck. He was also very happy to see his mummy, because he loved his mummy the most.

Ren Li initially wanted to scold him a little but seeing her son’s adorable appearance, she couldn’t bring herself to do so. Luckily, Little Fatty was also sleepy and rubbed his eyes looking for a pillow to nap on.

“Let’s go, mummy will take you to sleep.”

Ren Li held her son and couldn’t bear to see him tired.

“Did everything go well there?” Tang Zhinian asked his daughter. With Ren Li around, he didn’t have to handle their son. But looking at how chubby Chengcheng had become, he knew that things must have gone well.

Otherwise, Chengcheng couldn’t have gained so much weight, and Tang Yuxin wouldn’t have looked so relaxed.

He understood his daughter well.

“The virus is under control now,” Tang Yuxin dropped her handbag, feeling somewhat tired. But first, she had to inform Tang Zhinian about some matters.

“Chengcheng had to have a little blood drawn this time.”

While she continued speaking, she could clearly see the worry in Tang Zhinian’s eyes. For older children, drawing blood was not a big deal, but Chengcheng was so small. He was not even four years old and had hardly ever been vaccinated.

Now he had to go through blood drawing, which was naturally upsetting for anyone.

“Dad, don’t worry. He’s fine,” Tang Yuxin reassured Tang Zhinian. Chengcheng was her own little brother. Naturally, she wouldn’t harm him.

“We successfully suppressed the virus this time. As a reward, Chengcheng received a special prize.”

“What kind of reward? What do you mean?” Tang Zhijun was surprised, “Aren’t contributions supposed to be voluntary.”

“Not exactly,” Tang Yuxin shook her head, “While his contribution is voluntary, they did make some compensations to Chengcheng,” She didn’t mention that she contributed significantly too. She caught the snake, extracted its gallbladder, and even sacrificed her own little brother. If it was an individual reward, it would certainly be significant, considering she prevented a potential catastrophe.

However, she didn’t ask for anything, and instead used this opportunity to get Chengcheng a privilege.

“Chengcheng now has the privilege to be admitted to any schools in the country without needing to take entrance exams. This includes Qing University, Nanqing University, as well as other schools,” which meant her little brother would not have to go through the grim high school student life or the sleep-depriving preparation for university entrance exams in the future.

“This…” Tang Zhinian widened his eyes, “So he doesn’t have to take exams to go to school in the future?”

“Yes,” Tang Yuxin nodded, “They promised me so. The paperwork should arrive in a few days. Chengcheng will be a special student with this opportunity.”
