Chapter 835 468: The Cosmos Descends

  • Next Chapter

Xue Dili suddenly realized that everything he was feeling was fake; he must have fallen into the Illusion Realm of the Lord of Mist.

After all, before this, he had consumed a mass of the Lord of Mist's flesh and blood, even though it was flesh and blood completely refined by the Mimic Venerable King, used to forcibly elevate Xue Dili's current power, but it was ultimately not Xue Dili's own power.

Under normal circumstances, this mass of flesh and blood wouldn't cause problems within his body; instead, it would obediently become a power-supplying machine, silently altering the pile of ancestral code left to Xue Dili by those disorganized ancestral rats.

Thus this could be considered a different kind of consuming the Divine Tree Fruit?

The Apostles eat the fruit, Xue Dili eats the Apostles.

Yet, right after merging with this mass of flesh and blood, Xue Dili had already fallen into this spiritual vision, but at that time the scene was clearly the story from the birth of the Venerable King.

But now, it should be the scene before the Venerable King's birth...

Xue Dili looked out the window; they should be on a spacecraft, possibly light-years away from the Cosmic Void, yet even so, that all-devouring Cosmic Void nearly occupied more than half of their view with its vastness.

It's as if when you gazed at the sky and suddenly found that most of the sky had been completely devoured by something, leaving only scattered stardust at the edges to prove that it wasn't your eyes at fault.

But rather, some enormous presence had either covered or devoured more than half of the view.

"Is this the Cosmic Void? The true body of the Void?" Xue Dili silently gazed at this gigantic Great Void.

If looking from here, it seemed vast but incomprehensibly so; then a distant star appeared only the size of a speck of sand in the view, yet that speck-sized star could still remain outside the grasp of the Great Void's pull.

The entire star was like a grain of salt fallen on a pizza.

Further out, there was nothing luminous, and Xue Dili couldn't find a reference point to more accurately judge the size of the Cosmic Void.

Chances are, it's far beyond what he imagined.

After all, the Milky Way Galaxy only has a radius of 100,000 light-years, and this Great Void, according to the intelligence acquired by the Mimic Venerable King, had a radius of a billion light-years.

40 billion years later, the universe itself only had a radius of about 10 billion light-years; this Great Void wasn't small compared to the entire cosmos, and it was still expanding, at a rate many times faster than the cosmos.

Thus leading to the overlapping inflation of the cosmos.

Xue Dili continued to explore in his spiritual vision, but he found himself mostly unable to do anything, at best just adjusting his perspective.

And suddenly, the door opened, and Xue Dili was stunned because last time in the spiritual vision, the prehistoric beings he saw were of bizarre shapes.

But now, he saw—people?

No, no, merely something humanoid enough to fit within the acceptable range of humanoid species compared to humans; they had long, flowing body lines like nature's most elegant sculptures, with skin not of flesh and blood but semi-transparent material, resembling the finest white jade quartz, with gentle light veins flowing within, brightening with each breath.

And they seemed to be a mother and daughter pair, the little girl pounced into "his" arms, saying cutely, "Papa, I made a talisman to ensure your safe return from the expedition!"

On the talisman was a polished, crystalline stone, opened up with a drawing of a...

Stick figure?

"Fuge, what's this?"

"Papa, this is the guardian deity I drew, capable of protecting everyone; tada, I named him, Venerable King!"

"Buzz!"

...

Xue Dili finally broke free from this spiritual vision, or rather, this illusion.

When he was about to leave, he looked at the Lord of Mist, and at this moment, the Lord of Mist also seemed to open its eyes and look at Xue Dili.

The spiritual vision vanished at this point, and Xue Dili immediately rubbed his forehead.

He had once again seen scenes from 40 billion years ago, even moments before the birth of the Venerable King, probably just a scene of a member bidding farewell to his wife and daughter before an expedition.

And at last, that talisman named "Venerable King"!

Is this, the birth of the "Venerable King"? Is it not too childish?

Xue Dili felt a headache, an intense headache.

40 billion years... Venerable King... expedition forces... Lord of Mist...

He felt he had grasped something, then immediately noticed a key piece of information.

The little girl was named "Fuge"?

Xue Dili knew the script of that era; he had collected most of it in past spiritual visions and had begun decoding it; then he fetched the translation module to reverse decipher and discover the meaning of the word "Fuge."

Fuge... phonetic inversion to text... interpreting the text meaning...

Fuge, meaning "child born of the mist"...

Xue Dili looked at the decryption results in his hand, then took a cold breath.

It matched, everything seemed to match.

The true identity of the Lord of Mist might be this "Fuge."

And in his first spiritual vision, after the birth of the Venerable King, this "Fuge" attempted to replicate the previous events, to create a New God once more, by deceiving others at the time with the excuse of "Venerable King can only exist for a hundred years," thus obtaining the resources to create gods.
