My Villainess Management System.

Chapter 38: Ting Ting. Opening.

  • Next Chapter

While the disciples were wondering about the identity of the handsome man who was holding hands with their sect master, Gu Chen was focusing on the notification that had suddenly popped up in front of him.

....

(Ding! A Villainess has been detected!

Mission: Recruit Ting Ting!

Ting Ting: last carrier of the ancient human bloodline. Due to the special talent of her bloodline, she was born with blocked meridians and will die once she turns twenty unless healed.

Rewards for completion: 100MP. Talent enhancing pill. Two medkits. One mission card. Unlock the cultivation room in the base!)

....

Gu Chen stared at the notification in front of him in silence. He had several thoughts, but more importantly.

’Everyone here has been present for days, but I didn’t receive any notification. Do I have to be within a certain range to be able to detect a villainess?’ Gu Chen thought.

The last time, Feng Shuran was right under the mountain where he found himself after waking up. This time, he had received a notification about a villainess after entering the range of this particular mountain peak.

If his guess was right, didn’t that mean he would have to go around looking for villainesses instead of being safe in his base?

Gu Chen felt like he was going to get a headache; he didn’t want to go around just so the system could find new villainesses for him. But then again, they wouldn’t just appear in front of him out of thin air.

That aside, Gu Chen looked at the information about Ting Ting; he was honestly surprised.

A carrier of the ancient human bloodline- just how lucky was he?

Even when he was still in the Seven Realms Alliance, information about the ancient humans was considered sacred and hard to find. Immortals would fight over ruins and secret dwellings that were believed to belong to an ancient human.

The reason was that ancient humans were unreasonably talented and could casually create powerful skills and cultivation techniques. Stumbling upon anything that belonged to them was considered a rare opportunity.

It was even said that the ancient humans had several powerhouses who had crossed the True Immortal Realm; there were few to no details about this matter, but even a word of it carried hope.

Sadly, the ancient humans had disappeared millions of years ago. No one knew if they all died or left the planet.

Gu Chen stared at the part that stated that Ting Ting was born with blocked meridians and would die once she turned 20. This wasn’t an issue for him; he could easily get a meridian cleansing pill for her.

’Wait, if she was born with blocked meridians, how is she here?’ Gu Chen suddenly realised that something didn’t make sense.

His gaze swept across the disciples below the sitting area; everyone here had already started cultivating. Or could this Ting Ting not be amongst them?

Gu Chen closed the system page, deciding to investigate after the official opening. He would have Feng Shuran search for this Ting Ting for him; he definitely couldn’t allow a carrier of the ancient human bloodline to die!

The rewards for recruiting this new Villainess were also very attractive; there was a talent-enhancing pill which was incredibly difficult to make even for Gu Chen when he was still an Immortal. And the cultivation room.

He definitely had to recruit this Ting Ting!

After closing the system, Gu Chen sat on one of the seats and watched Feng Shuran address the women below.

He already knew how the official opening was going to be like. Unlike normal sect openings where people were invited and a banquet was held, this one was more like a small tournament to decide who was suited for which position.

The seven Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators would compete for the position of first elder, second elder, third elder, fourth elder, and fifth elder.

After the numbered elder positions were taken, the others would compete for mission elder, disciplinary elder, and outer elder. The outer elder was in charge of managing the activities of outer disciples, receiving guests, and scouting new disciples.

The position of elders was permanent; only if something happened to the previous one would there be a replacement.

After the positions of elders had been decided, next would be core disciples.

Core disciples were going to be the main face of the sect and had to be elite amongst elites. For this reason, Feng Shuran decided to limit the number of core disciples to 50. Inner disciples would be able to challenge them, and whoever lost would have to give up their spots.

Of course, the number of challenges they could accept would be limited to a few times every month. This was to prevent the disciples from having to fight too frequently and not having time to train.

After core disciples were chosen, the other disciples would be split in two, and the upper half would become inner disciples while the other group would remain outer disciples.

Every year, a disciples tournament would be held, and if an outer disciple could beat an inner disciple, they could take their place.

This was what Feng Shuran was currently explaining to the woman below the sitting area, and Gu Chen just observed from his seat. He had prepared something for the sect but only planned to give it to Feng Shuran after the opening.

Feng Shuran finished her explanation after a while, and the women started whispering to one another.

The seven Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators stood amongst the crowd with serious faces; they were all eyeing the positions of the numbered elders. If it wasn’t possible, then mission elder and disciplinary elder were still fine; none of them wanted to be an outer elder.

"Since you all understand, let’s begin! The first battle will be for the position of first elder; anyone with three victories automatically wins!" Feng Shuran announced in a loud voice.

Immediately after her voice sounded, the whole place went quiet. Those who were eligible to compete looked at each other, waiting for who would go up first.

Feng Shuran didn’t rush them and just stood there, waiting for them to make up their minds.

After some time, someone finally jumped onto the platform. It was a beautiful woman with short white hair. Even with the purple robe, one could easily see that she had an amazing figure.

This person was Quin Xuxu!

After stepping onto the platform, she turned towards Feng Shuran and bowed.

"I’ll go first, sect master."

Shuran nodded in response before turning to look at the other six women.

"Who will challenge her? If no one goes up, then she wins automatically." She stated.

Upon hearing this, the remaining six women looked at each other, and one of them with long brown hair jumped towards the platform.

"I’ll fight, sect master." The woman bowed towards Feng Shuran before turning to face Quin Xuxu.

Feng Shuran stared at them for a moment before speaking.

"If you’re ready, then begin."

She went to sit beside Gu Chen after saying this, planning to watch the match together.

"Who do you think will win?" Shuran turned to Gu Chen and asked, casually playing with his fingers that were resting on his lap.

"Hard to say, let’s watch for a bit." Gu Chen replied honestly; he didn’t know any of these women, so he couldn’t guess who the winner of this fight would be.

On the platform, Quin Xuxu and her opponent took out their weapons after the sect master told them to begin.

Quin Xuxu held a huge wooden fan that was as big as her body; she held one end of the fan and allowed the other end to rest on the ground.

Her opponent was holding a black scimitar with three rings attached to its top.

Both sides stared at each other for a few seconds without making a move. The whole place was silent as everyone else focused on them.

Suddenly, the woman with the scimitar dashed forward. She crossed ten meters with a single step and launched herself into the air, a burst of qi exploding from her body as she activated a technique.

"Ha!" She shouted and slashed the air with her scimitar.

The surroundings shook; a gigantic phantom of a black scimitar appeared in the air and slashed towards Quin Xuxu with great power.

Accompanying the giant scimitar were the sounds of clashing blades.

The spectating disciples stared at the giant scimitar with serious faces; those at the QI Gathering Realm felt suffocated even though they weren’t its target, while those at the Foundation Establishment Realm felt threatened.

On the platform, Quin Xuxu had a calm face as she looked at the scimitar falling towards her. The sounds of clashing blades attacked her mind.

The sound attack was probably supposed to distract her and not allow her to react to the attack, but for some reason, Quin Xuxu wasn’t affected.

The giant scimitar didn’t look nearly as intimidating as it was supposed to either. Compared to what she had witnessed in the hall yesterday, this was nothing!
