My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 63: Are you ready?
Brandon turned toward his secretary, who was standing stiffly behind him.
"Find that person. I don’t care how you do it. I want that person found within two hours."
"There should have been two people working together to acquire your shares today. Someone was protecting the buyer from behind the scenes," Shad added.
Brandon massaged his temples. Have I offended some powerful god lately? he wondered.
He had already reduced the risks involved in the stock sale by distributing shares among people close to him who had no business influence in the eastern region of the Melvin Continent. He had also released only one percent of his shares to the public.
After thinking for a while, his eyes suddenly lit up as if he had remembered something.
"That child? What about that child?" Brandon asked.
"Sir, that child isn’t what you think," his secretary replied softly. "The child really is the son of the couple you saw today. They’re rising businesspeople who have been making a name for themselves this year. The child was only brought home two days ago, and today was his first time attending an event like this."
"Are you sure?" Brandon asked.
"Yes, sir. I’ve conducted DNA tests three times."
Brandon frowned before waving his hand, trying to dispel the suspicions that kept growing in his mind.
"Have you really submitted the request to freeze the Vein family’s shares for the opening of the second trading session?"
"Yes, sir. The request has been approved. There will be no trading of Vein family shares this afternoon."
Brandon nodded in satisfaction. "Keep monitoring the stock market. If there’s even the slightest movement, carry out the backup plan. Don’t let them cause a scene. Tell my father to use his people to help find the person who dared to steal these shares. The Vein family’s power is still in his hands. He’ll have a much easier time finding that person within his own territory."
After saying that, Brandon turned and walked toward the door. "Don’t disturb me for the next two hours," he added.
His secretary nodded in understanding. "Yes, sir."
Brandon left the treatment room in his private residence and headed toward Hana’s room.
"Are you ready?" he asked as soon as he entered.
Hana nodded, rose from her chair, and hurried over to him.
Brandon looked at her for a few moments before taking her to the front courtyard. A car was already waiting there, complete with a driver and several subordinates who would protect her throughout the journey.
Hana got into the car without asking anything. Her mind was busy trying to remember what had actually happened after she broke up with Brandon.
She massaged her temples as soon as the car left the residence.
Seeing this, Brandon, who was sitting beside her, immediately turned toward her. He reached for Hana’s face and held her hand to stop her from massaging her temples.
"What’s wrong? Is something bothering you?" he asked cautiously.
Hana looked up and stared at him for a few moments before shaking her head. "I’m fine. I’m just thinking about something."
Brandon’s expression finally softened. He gently ruffled Hana’s hair.
"Didn’t I tell you not to try to think about—"
"Brandon." Hana cut him off as she moved his hand away from her head. "How did my family go bankrupt? My parents... How exactly did they die?"
"Hana?"
"Brandon, tell me everything. With your money, you can help me find out, can’t you? I’ve completely forgotten everything."
"And my house," Hana added. "Can you take me there?"
Brandon’s body immediately stiffened. He remained silent for a few moments before answering, "Haven’t I already told you everything? Don’t try to remember the past anymore. It’ll only hurt you, Hana."
"Brandon?"
"As for your house..." Brandon let out a rough breath. "Someone has already bought it. I tried to buy it once, but they refused to sell it to me. Give me some time. I’ll definitely take you back to your old home."
Hana’s eyes trembled as she looked at Brandon. He seemed to be hiding something from her.
"Brandon," she asked cautiously. "You weren’t involved in my family’s downfall, were you? You... couldn’t possibly have hurt them, could you?"
"What are you thinking?" Brandon asked. "Do you think I would be involved in all of this? If I really were involved, why would I have let you disappear and spent these past seven years looking for you?"
"Hana..." Brandon called when he saw her face growing paler. "I’ll make the people who hurt you and destroyed your family pay, okay? Do you really think I could bring myself to hurt your uncle and aunt? I spent a long time with them, too."
Meanwhile, Sean finally woke up from his nap and frowned when he realized a blanket was wrapped around him. His eyes immediately landed on Dion Sexa, who was watching him while holding a report.
"You’re awake?" Dion asked.
Sean shook his head in disbelief without bothering to answer. Just look at this man. Instead of moving his son to a bed when he sees him sleeping on a small sofa, he chooses to bring him a blanket, Sean grumbled inwardly.
Having such an idiot for a father is a real disadvantage. If this man marries his mother, won’t she end up suffering even more?
Dion pointed at the four laptops that were already turned on in front of him.
"Now that you’re awake, we can get started. My people said that the man who kidnapped your mother will be traveling out of town with someone."
Sean snorted again. Is this man really my father? His son, who just turned five, has only just woken up, and he’s already giving him a pile of work?
Sean shook his head as he stared at the man.
Dion scratched his nose, which wasn’t even itchy, when he realized his son was looking at him as if he were an idiot.
"Did I do something wrong?" Dion finally asked.
Sean let out a rough breath.
"Are you really my father?" he asked. "You force me to work without even asking whether I’m hungry. Yesterday, during the flight, I already overlooked the fact that you didn’t give me anything to eat. And now you’re doing the same thing again? If I let my mother marry you, won’t she starve to death?"
"Didn’t you eat at the hotel? Didn’t my people feed you properly?"
Seeing that Sean was still looking at him with dissatisfaction, Dion Sexa finally pressed a button on his phone.
"Come in and bring Sean some food."
"Yes, sir," his secretary replied promptly.
It didn’t take long for his secretary to enter with a household servant carrying a warm meal for Sean.
Sean looked at the servant, then turned to Dion, who also seemed a little stunned by how quickly they had arrived.
He snorted again. Even the household servants understood his needs better than his own biological father did.
As soon as he finished his lunch, Sean returned to the sofa where he had slept and picked up his phone.
"Are you ready?" Sean asked.
"You’re going to do it now?" Kevin asked from the other end of the phone.
Sean climbed down from the sofa and walked toward the laptop on the table beside Dion.
"Pick me up," Sean ordered, his tone once again filled with dissatisfaction.
Dion cleared his throat softly before lifting Sean and placing him on the extra office chair he had prepared.
"All three of our fathers are completely useless. If we don’t rely on ourselves and go after Mom’s kidnapper now, we’ll only be wasting time."
Kevin nodded. He glanced at Orland Hesh, who was still lying unconscious in front of him, before hurrying over to where he had left his laptop.
"You’re right. Wait a moment."
