My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 61: The daughter-in-law of the Vein family
The hotel ballroom soon fell silent after Brandon and his father left the room with the members of the supervisory board, their faces dark with displeasure. The guests who remained began rushing out as soon as they realized the event was over.
Brandon’s mother patted Laila’s hand. Although she was no longer young, her face was still well cared for.
"I’ll handle this matter for you. Don’t let this incident interfere with your marriage to Brandon."
Laila looked at her for a few moments before nodding. "I’m still going to marry him. You don’t need to worry that I’ll call off the wedding."
"Hmm. You’re the only one worthy of standing by my son’s side. You’re the only girl I’ll acknowledge as my daughter-in-law, the daughter-in-law of the Vein family."
"I know. And as for that girl, I won’t just sit back and do nothing either."
Brandon’s mother smiled with satisfaction before inviting Laila to leave the ballroom stage with her.
Only a few people remained now, some accompanied by their personal secretaries, who were hurrying to report what had just happened to their superiors.
Amid the remaining guests’ commotion, the Vein family’s bodyguards continued standing firmly at their posts, carrying out their master’s orders.
Sean surveyed his surroundings before taking the hands of his fake parents. The innocence had vanished from his face. His gaze turned sharp as he issued an order.
"Get me out of here. Now."
Sean’s fake parents exchanged glances before nodding.
Brandon would surely come looking for him again as soon as he remembered him. He had to leave the hotel before that happened.
With 20% of the Vein family’s shares now in his possession, he could easily trigger chaos far greater than what had just occurred. However, if Brandon discovered what he had just done, the man certainly wouldn’t let him leave so easily.
When they reached the corridor, Sean’s eyes met Brandon’s secretary, who was hurrying toward the far end of the hallway. Without realizing it, Sean and his fake parents quickened their pace.
The secretary stopped as soon as he saw Sean, he reached for a small communication device attached to his shirt and spoke in a firm tone.
Sean swallowed hard. His gaze shifted toward the elevator doors, which were now guarded by Brandon’s men.
"I want to go to the restroom first," he said without looking at either of his fake parents.
In front of the men’s restroom, a middle-aged man greeted him with a nod. Sean returned the gesture before immediately entering.
Five minutes later, a little boy who looked vaguely like Sean emerged from the restroom. Dressed and styled to resemble him, the boy approached Sean’s fake parents before walking with them toward the elevator.
Not long afterward, Sean, now changed into casual clothes and wearing a mask, came out of the restroom with the middle-aged man. The man bent down, picked him up, and carried him away through another route.
Sean didn’t resist. Instead, he wrapped his arms around the man’s neck and acted as though they really were father and son.
From a distance, Sean saw the boy who had just exchanged clothes with him. Several of Brandon’s subordinates had stopped the boy along with Sean’s fake parents.
A mocking smile appeared on Sean’s lips. His round eyes narrowed briefly before he leaned back against the man carrying him.
When they reached the lobby, the man carried him into a waiting black SUV. No one suspected anything. Sean sat quietly beside the man, allowing the car to take him away.
Elsewhere, Dion Sexa watched the video footage on his laptop with satisfaction. His secretary, standing behind him, carefully observed his master’s expression before finally gathering the courage to ask a question.
"Sir, are you sure the young master will thank you for this help, which came almost too late?"
The smile on Dion’s face only widened. "Didn’t I at least help him? He’s my son. If I helped him from the beginning, how could he possibly grow up better than those two bastards’ sons?" he scoffed.
"But, Sir... I don’t think Young Master Sean is the type of person who would—"
Dion waved his hand, cutting off his secretary.
"Chaos will break out here this afternoon. The Vein family will surely look for Sean because he’s the main culprit." He closed his laptop before continuing in a firm tone, "Prepare a vehicle to take him away. Bring him back to my residence in the western region as quickly as possible. Don’t let the Vein family make him even more frightened. Otherwise, he’ll really look for another father to present to Hana."
His secretary nodded, though he still looked hesitant. "But, Sir... what about you?"
Dion stared at him silently for a few moments, as though looking at an idiot.
"Do you think I put my own son into the wolf’s den of the Eastern Region’s ruling family of Melvin Continent today just to help him acquire their shares?" he scoffed. "I’ll handle the rest of the job myself."
"Sir!" his secretary exclaimed, looking slightly horrified. "This place is a wolf’s den for you, too. This isn’t your territory. Are you really going to look for Madam Hana by yourself?"
"What do you think?" Dion raised one eyebrow. "If I’m the first to find her and save her from her stupid ex, she’ll surely be touched and become as easy to approach as she used to be."
Dion’s smile widened further as he imagined Hana running toward him in tears.
Beside him, Dion’s secretary shook his head several times. This plan sounded far more ridiculous than the one Dion had previously devised and submitted for review.
Bang!
The door suddenly burst open from the outside.
Sean entered with a dark expression. He walked toward Dion, who was still wearing a triumphant smile, then threw himself onto the sofa opposite him with an arrogant air.
"Are you really my father?" Sean sneered. "Are you happy watching a video of your son nearly being captured alive by the people who kidnapped his mother?"
Dion waved his secretary away before leaning back in his chair.
"Your performance was quite satisfying," he praised.
Sean lifted his head and stared at the man in disbelief before shaking his head. "Have you misunderstood something? Do you think I’ve already acknowledged you as my father?"
"Dion Sexa," Sean called, his chubby face expressionless.
He took a stack of paper out of his bag and tossed it onto the table, right in front of Dion.
Dion frowned. He picked up the stack of papers and read through them slowly. His eyes widened further with every page he turned.
"Sean... how dare you?"
