My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 59: What’s going on?
Sell.
Sell.
Sell.
Everyone in the room nervously pressed the sell buttons on the computers in front of them while calls from their secretaries and family members continued coming in on their phones.
Within a short time, the funds from the sales began returning to their accounts one by one. No one remained idle. As soon as the money arrived, they immediately transferred it to their respective private accounts.
"What’s going on?" Brandon finally asked when he saw everyone busy with their phones.
Everyone looked up at the stage before shaking their heads in unison. No one said anything about the stock sales they had just made.
They were not fools. Selling the shares allocated to them by Brandon, the future ruler of the eastern region of Melvin Continent, was clearly a mistake that could offend him in the future.
However, their private affairs, which they had kept hidden for so long, had suddenly been exposed to the public within seconds. What made matters worse was that it had happened precisely when the ruling family of the eastern region of Melvin Continent was launching its business shares.
There was only one possibility.
Someone wanted to offend this prospective heir to the Melvin family.
They swallowed hard before putting on the same relaxed expressions they had worn earlier.
If their family scandals were exposed to the public, their downfall would only be a matter of time. The shares they had received through Brandon’s allocation would become worthless as well.
The supervisory board of Melvin Continent did not care much about the private affairs of businesspeople in their territory, but they had never approved of irregularities carried out so openly and blatantly.
"Young Master," someone called out from a seat closest to the stage.
"It’s nothing important. I’m just having a little trouble at home," he replied cautiously.
Brandon frowned before turning toward his secretary, who was standing below the stage.
The secretary immediately nodded and signaled to the Vein family’s subordinates to collect the guests’ phones one by one.
Not only that, but he also immediately contacted the IT team stationed just above the floor where the ballroom was located.
"Conduct a thorough inspection. Are there any irregularities in our stock trading activities right now?" he asked in a low voice.
In an instant, the ballroom, which had just fallen silent again, began filling with commotion.
Behind his mask, Sean’s lips curved into a faint smile.
"Restore everyone’s computer displays to how they were before. Delete all the information and messages that were sent," Sean ordered.
Kevin nodded. "Understood."
His fingers moved rapidly as he put together lines of code one after another. Within just thirty seconds, everything was ready. Kevin briefly checked the results before pressing Enter.
In an instant, all the information that had previously spread to the public disappeared without a trace. The messages sent to the guests’ phones were deleted, as though they had never existed.
The computer screens in front of them also returned to displaying the shares allocated by Brandon.
Kevin smiled with satisfaction at the result.
"Brandon... you’ve made a huge mistake this time," he said. "You sent the person most capable of protecting your system to a dangerous place and left those useless pieces of trash in the safest place. How stupid."
On the stage, Brandon watched as his subordinates began collecting the guests’ phones one by one.
Seeing the dissatisfaction on their faces, Brandon instead smiled casually.
"You don’t need to worry. I won’t ask my subordinates to inspect anything else on your phones. I’ll only be checking for anything that might be related to this stock launch. The Vein family will certainly compensate you for the inconvenience you’re experiencing."
Brandon’s father nodded in agreement to reassure the members of Melvin Continent’s supervisory board.
The guards quickly confiscated all the guests’ communication devices, ignoring their complaints after receiving confirmation from Brandon and his father, who was still the ruler of Melvin Continent.
The Vein family wielded tremendous influence beyond their position as rulers of the eastern region of Melvin Continent. At the very least, they were not afraid of offending anyone as long as they remained in this position.
One of the guards then stopped beside Sean’s fake parents.
"Hand over your phones," he ordered.
With annoyed expressions, the couple handed their phones to the guard acting on Brandon’s orders.
Sean glanced at them briefly but said nothing. He merely tapped randomly on the keyboard in front of him.
The guard glanced at him before sneering.
"Keep an eye on your child. Don’t let him press buttons he shouldn’t be pressing," he said before turning toward the stage without waiting for Sean’s fake parents to respond.
Sean smiled faintly. His eyes gleamed as his fingers quickly pressed Enter.
The computer screen turned dark again, just as it had before. The people around him could no longer see anything. Only Sean could see everything displayed on it.
His screen showed the actual stock graph belonging to his account once more. The graph continued to move.
There were one million shares in his account, and their value kept increasing every second.
Sean chuckled softly.
"Brandon... you dared to kidnap my mother? Then you’ll have to face the consequences soon."
One phone after another was inspected by the people Brandon had sent. Not a single device was overlooked.
"Sir," his secretary called after finishing the inspection of all the phones.
Brandon turned and looked at him.
"There are no strange messages or unusual phone activities."
"Nothing?" Brandon asked, his brow furrowing.
"Yes, sir," the secretary replied in a more confident tone.
"What about the results of the investigation by the IT experts upstairs? Have they found anything yet?" Brandon asked.
As soon as Brandon finished speaking, an incoming call appeared on his secretary’s phone. The secretary immediately answered it in front of him.
After finishing the call, the secretary shook his head again.
"Sir, the results are still the same. There are no differences whatsoever. We haven’t detected any suspicious activity. Everything is normal. The shares we’ve distributed to the public are also still in their hands. Not a single share is missing," he added.
Brandon stared at his secretary with a furrowed brow before lifting his head to look at all the guests in the ballroom.
Every guest had been carefully selected by him and his father, with each choice thoroughly considered alongside the board of directors.
Brandon’s gaze moved from one face to another.
They were all there.
Not a single face differed from those he had seen in last week’s report.
Brandon’s gaze finally fell on the seat in the farthest corner of the ballroom.
The seat where Sean was sitting.
