Sean scoffed. "If I can destroy your businesses at my age, then I should be able to build businesses far greater than the ones you own now."

Dion smiled broadly. He leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes again.

"Even if that’s possible, it will be difficult if you rely solely on your intelligence. Do you think there’s no reason the territory of Melvin Continent is divided into four regions?"

Sean frowned. "Is there a reason? Isn’t it simply because of your greed? You deliberately sealed off your territories with your filthy businesses?"

Dion sneered. "Do you think the companies you’ve established across Melvin Continent could have escaped everyone’s notice?"

"But you didn’t notice me, did you? You only found out when I attacked you. You didn’t even know that I had established my businesses right under your territory for the past year."

Dion fell silent. He didn’t answer immediately. His eyes rested on Sean for several seconds before shifting to the documents in his son’s hands.

"That was an accident. I did loosen my surveillance over the past five years because of Hana." His lips formed a faint frown. "Who would have thought I’d have such an outstanding son? My son even came to me of his own accord, bringing me a magnificent gift."

"Tch." Sean scoffed. "I’ll definitely bring you an even bigger gift than the one I gave you yesterday. All you have to do is sit back and use it."

Sean reopened the documents in his hands and read them carefully.

Dion didn’t disturb him. Instead, he opened the tablet beside him.

Twenty minutes later, their car finally stopped in front of a luxurious five-star hotel in the eastern region of Melvin Continent.

"I won’t get out. I’ll only bring you this far. The heir to the eastern region of Melvin Continent knows my face. If he sees me getting out and realizes I dared to come to his territory, he’ll definitely cause trouble. My men will protect you while you’re here. If anything happens, they’ll bring you straight back to the western region."

Sean nodded and immediately put his belongings into his backpack.

"I understand."

"Do your best," Dion added when he saw that his son was completely unafraid and was about to leave without hesitation. "If you fail, Father will find another way to bring your mother home."

Sean turned to glance at him. "I understand," he replied, his brow furrowed.

Dion scratched his nose, even though it didn’t itch, when he saw the brief hint of irritation on Sean’s face.

"Your fake parents are waiting for you in the hotel lobby. Pretend to be close to them for today. At least act like a good son who’s close to his parents," Dion added.

Sean’s brow furrowed even more. He looked at Dion with an increasingly obvious sneer.

"I understand."

Sean immediately got out of the car without any intention of saying anything more. He put on a mask to cover part of his face before entering the hotel lobby.

Dion frowned.

When had he prepared that mask?

Beside him, his secretary watched Sean walk calmly into the hotel.

"Sir, he looks very much like you did when you were young. His intelligence is truly extraordinary."

Dion watched Sean’s back gradually disappear into the hotel lobby before breaking into a broad smile.

"He’s my son. How could he not look like me?"

Dion’s car drove away from the hotel before stopping not far from there. The place was a luxurious residence where Sean’s fake parents lived.

Meanwhile, Sean calmly entered the hotel and immediately approached his fake parents.

"Father, Mother..." Sean called as he looked up at them.

The couple smiled and nodded, returning his hug before taking him to their room after a brief conversation.

Sean rested in his room for two hours. Afterward, he went out with his fake parents and headed toward the hotel ballroom.

The ballroom was already crowded with people. The unfamiliar faces Sean had studied beforehand appeared before him one after another.

Sean stood beside his fake parents, holding the woman’s arm as though he were afraid of being abandoned.

A man dressed like a businessman approached them.

"Mr. Jed," the man greeted.

Sean’s fake father gave a slight nod in response.

"Is this your son, the one you just brought back from out of town? He’s grown so much!"

Jed smiled faintly. "Yes. He’s my only son. We owe him a great deal because we left him with his grandmother back then. So, we brought him here."

The man nodded and observed Sean, who looked like a shy son.

"He’s very shy. Is he sick?"

Jed nodded. "He has a slight cold. So, we made him wear a mask to prevent him from infecting the other guests."

The man nodded in understanding.

"Yes, he’s your only heir. You should bring him into the upper circles of the business world so he can understand how things work more quickly. After all, we’ll soon be among those supporting the candidate to become the next heir to the eastern region of Melvin Continent."

The man lowered his head before speaking quietly beside Jed.

"Have you heard the rumors going around?"

Jed smiled and nodded. "Is it about the heir apparent?" he asked.

The man nodded. "I heard that the young master, the heir apparent, has even taken her to his private residence. That man really is..." He shook his head, afraid to continue.

Jed merely smiled faintly. "I heard the young master is very fond of that girl. His former lover," he added.

The two men continued talking in hushed voices, as though they were discussing something taboo.

Sean held the hand of the woman beside him without saying a word, even as his ears continued to pick up the conversations around him.

After a while, more guests continued to arrive until the entire ballroom was filled. Sean’s fake parents then led him to their seats.

Computers had been provided at every seat, each displaying the names of the invited guests who had been authorized to participate in the stock market opening event for the eastern region of Melvin Continent.

The doors behind the stage, which had previously been closed, finally opened.

A middle-aged man walked out with his partner, holding her hand.

Behind them, Brandon Vein, Hana’s former lover, walked alongside Laila, his fiancée.
