My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 39: You still kept searching there?
Dion Sexa sneered. "Every territory in Melvin Continent always has its own ruler. The southern region is your territory, Hans. Are you even denying that? I control the western region, and Orland controls the northern region. But we kept sharing information about our search for her all this time, even searching remote areas within our respective territories. What about you? You even deleted all our contacts back then."
"I-I..." Hans stammered.
"After Hana disappeared, not only did you immediately kill the suspects without finding out what happened first, you didn’t even search your own territory?"
"Bullshit! Damn it!" Hans finally cursed. "I was searching for Hana too all this time. Do you know how crazy I became when I couldn’t find Hana anywhere? Do you know how desperate I was that I even killed every member of my family?"
"Then tell us. How could you overlook Karua City as one of your search locations? For the past five years, haven’t you expanded a lot of your businesses there? Hana never even left that city during those five years. Explain everything to us as clearly as you can," Dion said, giving Hans no room to evade the question.
Everyone in the room stared at Hans, waiting for his answer.
"Argh!" Hans rubbed his temples and sat down in the chair where he had been sitting before.
"I admit, this was my mistake. I thought Hana wouldn’t go far from the capital, Melvin. So for the past five years... I only focused my search for Hana there. I truly never thought Hana would end up on the outskirts of my territory."
Hans held his chest before leaning back. The effects of the operation Zahn had performed on his body had not completely healed yet. If Greo hadn’t told him that his son with the woman who might have once been the reason he killed his entire family had come and operated on him, he wouldn’t have woken up so quickly and immediately left the hospital to meet his son.
Zahn placed his laptop on the table and looked at Hans sitting in front of him. He got down from his chair, grabbed a box of medical instruments, and then climbed onto the man’s lap. "Don’t move. I’ll treat you, but you have to answer all their questions."
Hans looked at his son, who looked so much like him and had inherited Hana’s beautiful lips. He smiled unconsciously, then let his son do whatever he wanted to his body.
Hans turned back to look at the four people who were still staring sharply at him, giving him no room to relax. "I left the development of my business in Karua City to Greo, one of my secretary. I never directly monitored that small city. After all, Karua City was only a temporary stop for the goods I shipped through my business."
Kevin sneered. "So you searched for Mom in the capital for five years. And after you couldn’t find her at all, you still kept searching there?"
Stab!
"Ugh!" Hans cried out as a medical knife pierced his skin.
He immediately looked into his son’s blue eyes. "What are you doing? Are you trying to kill me?"
Zahn looked at him sarcastically. "I already tried to kill you once. Trying again isn’t a problem."
Hans shook his head, staring sharply at Zahn, but he said nothing to scold him. He knew Zahn had no intention of actually hurting him this time.
Hans continued to let Zahn treat his body, even though the boy didn’t give him any anesthetic. He took a deep breath before looking at all of them, who seemed determined to watch him die at his own son’s hands.
"I thought that because the capital, Melvin, was so vast and my people searched for her in shifts, Hana might have been hidden somewhere and moved from place to place. Besides, Hana was a timid girl. I thought my family wouldn’t be so cruel as to send her somewhere like Karua City, especially after they knew that the three of us liked her."
"Idiot!" the four of them cursed at the same time.
"If I push this knife in deeper, everyone on this plane will definitely be happy about it, right?" Zahn added.
"You!"
Zahn snorted. His hand quickly grabbed some medicine and began treating him again.
Hans Xin and Orland Hesh finally returned to their seats.
"Now you know, right? We’ve been searching everywhere for Hana." Orland Hesh looked at his son, who was still staring at him angrily. "We should have found her sooner if that man hadn’t been an idiot," he added.
Kevin waved his hand, having no intention of continuing the conversation. In his eyes, all three fathers in front of him were equally stupid.
Zahn finally sighed after deciding that the emergency treatment he had performed on the man in front of him was enough. He removed all the medical instruments that were still in the man’s body and put them back into his own medical kit.
"Are you worried about Dad?" Hans Xin asked, his face slightly pale.
Zahn looked up at him. "You’re still included among the men we’re considering as Mom’s partners. If Sean manages to find someone much better, I won’t care about you anymore. Don’t misunderstand," he said.
Zahn climbed down from the man and calmly returned to his seat. His hand reached for a bottle of cold milk that he hadn’t finished earlier, and he began drinking it.
Sean and Kevin were still busy with their respective computers, completely ignoring their fathers’ gazes.
Their brows furrowed several times as they looked at the screens in front of them.
"Kevin," Zahn asked casually, "have you still not found Mom’s ex-fiancée’s lover? Why are you taking so long this time?"
Kevin shook his head without looking at Zahn. "This is a little strange. The information I’m trying to find seems to be restricted. Someone suddenly realized that I was digging into Mom’s past through this woman."
Zahn was slightly surprised. His round eyes looked at Kevin with a hint of disbelief. "Is there someone more skilled than you? Didn’t Grandma say that no one could match you except Grandma Jexy?"
Kevin shook his head. "Most likely, the person doing this is also the same person who caused the total system shutdown in Karua City. I’m tracing them right now. You don’t need to worry. I’ll definitely be able to break through their system defenses within the next few hours."
