My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered
Chapter 252: The Seat of the star emperors
The vast, shimmering void of the Primordial Firmament opened up like an endless ocean of golden nebulae and cascading astral dust.
Guiding Vince’s massive celestial-jade citadel through the starry currents were the three high emissaries, now thoroughly subjugated and trembling in silent humiliation. The Solari Herald, his once-glorious golden armor still hairline-cracked from Vince’s oppressive spatial pressure, flew at the head of the formation alongside the Starlight and Astral Heralds, acting as reluctant envoys for the very mortal ascendant they had been sent to contain.
On the citadel’s forward balcony, Vince stood with his arms rested against the jade balustrade, watching the cosmic scenery shift around them.
The distant stars seemed to stretch forever, scattered across the darkness in uneven clusters. Some burned with pale blue light, while others glowed red and orange behind veils of drifting cosmic dust. Thin streams of astral energy curled between them, moving slowly enough to look almost still from the citadel’s deck. Every so often, a distant celestial body crossed their path, its surface reflecting the surrounding light like polished glass.
The citadel itself remained steady through the currents. Its enormous jade walls caught the colors of passing nebulae, shifting from green to silver whenever the surrounding light changed. Long terraces extended from its sides, lined with quiet gardens and empty observation platforms. Small formations of protective runes were carved into the railings, their faint glow barely noticeable beneath the stronger radiance of the Firmament.
Far below, fragments of ancient structures drifted through the void, some broken into enormous pieces, others still intact despite their age. Nobody aboard the citadel paid them much attention. They passed silently beneath the vessel, leaving only faint trails of dust behind. Ahead, the golden haze gradually grew brighter, hinting that something much larger waited beyond it. Only a faint hum of distant stars reached them.
Beside him, Elena held her hovering glowing slate, her golden eyes flashing as dense streams of Firmament data poured into her administrative grid.
"We are approaching the outer perimeter of the Aetherial Waypoint," Elena reported, her crisp voice tinged with quiet intrigue. "It is a massive neutral free-city built directly atop the intersection of four major astral ley-lines. According to the emissaries’ intelligence, it serves as the central hub for celestial merchant guilds, high divine sects, and visiting lower-plane deities seeking entry into the Firmament."
"A high-tier border city," Vince murmured, a calm, expectant smirk playing on his lips. "And the local authority?"
"The Waypoint is nominally governed by a council of regional divine lords," Elena explained, tapping a rune to bring up three-dimensional projections of the Firmament’s power structure. "However, true sovereignty over this entire sector belongs to the Triumvirate of Star-Emperors—the supreme rulers of the Solari Dominion, the Starlight Hegemony, and the Obsidian Astral Pantheon. They rule from the high inner seats of the Firmament."
Barnaby glided up to Vince’s right, her translucent silver dress catching the golden stardust drifting off the bow of the citadel. Her Lotus Core pulsed with a gentle, hypnotic warmth, feeding a constant stream of refined cosmic vitality directly into Vince’s soul-tether.
"They feel so rigid, Vince," Barnaby purred, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head against his shoulder. "All these gods... trapped inside their ancient ranks and divine titles. They don’t realize their titles mean nothing inside your domain."
"They’ll learn soon enough," Lyrielle said softly from his left, her fingers resting lightly on the silver-wood string of her elder-bow. Her violet eyes scanned the approaching megastructure with a mix of awe and cool composure.
As the celestial-jade citadel breached the outer astral veil, the Aetherial Waypoint came into full view. It was a staggering spectacle—a floating metropolis constructed from carved white star-stone and golden light, stretching across thousands of miles. Spire-capped palaces, celestial bazaars, and massive docking platforms hovered in perfect geometric rings around a central artificial star.
Thousands of lower and mid-tier deities—entities draped in divine mantles, riding ethereal beasts or floating upon condensed clouds of elemental mana—navigated the radiant skyways.
However, as Vince’s massive citadel drifted gracefully into the central basin, an eerie silence spread across the nearest skyways. The sight of three high emissaries flying in subservient escort before an unknown, unranked celestial citadel was a sight no divine merchant or local god had ever witnessed.
"Halt!"
A booming, thunderous voice echoed from a floating white-marble watchtower nearby. A regional deity clad in heavy, sapphire divine plate stepped out onto the balcony, surrounded by a squad of celestial enforcers. He held a glowing halberd of condensed stellar pressure, his eyes glaring down at the jade citadel with haughty disdain.
"Unregistered domain structure!" the Regional Lord bellowed, expanding his divine pressure across the dock—a crushing weight designed to force visiting lower-plane sovereigns to drop their heads in respect. "By order of the Waypoint Governance, state your title, your divine rank, and bow before the registry, or your vessel shall be—"
The Regional Lord didn’t get to finish his sentence.
Vince didn’t even turn his head. He merely flicked two fingers casually off the jade railing.
THUMMM—
A localized pulse of Vince’s Inward Absolute Domain flashed out like a silent shockwave.
The moment the Regional Lord’s divine pressure touched Vince’s boundary, it was completely erased—shattered like thin ice under a iron boot. The pulse slammed straight into the white-marble watchtower, instantly neutralizing the divine aura of the Lord and his entire squad.
The Regional Lord gasped, his knees buckling violently as his glowing halberd slipped from his numb fingers, clattering against the marble floor. He collapsed onto all fours, sweating profusely, his divine core shuddering as if an invisible mountain were resting squarely on his spine.
Across the surrounding skyways, hundreds of observing deities froze in absolute shock. Whispers broke out like wildfire across the crowds of divine merchants and high-sect disciples.
"He... he crushed a Regional Lord’s divine pressure with static emission?"
"Who is that on the balcony? He isn’t wearing a rank badge of the Triumvirate!"
"Look at the emissaries... they’re acting like his personal escorts!"
Vince looked down at the kneeling Regional Lord with cold, unbothered indifference as the citadel slowly glided past the watchtower toward the high central plaza.
"Elena," Vince spoke smoothly, his voice carrying clearly over the silent plaza. "Dock the citadel at the main spire. Let’s see what this Firmament has to offer."
