My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered

Chapter 247: Breaching the twin dominion

  • Next Chapter

The void outside the Primordial Twin Dominion did not resemble open space; it resembled the gullet of a dying star wrapped in an open mass grave.

For ten thousand miles around the perimeter, space burned with a sickly, black-and-gold solar plasma that crackled with violent arc-lightning. Any distant light that entered the region seemed to dim beneath the oppressive radiance, swallowed by the unnatural collision of darkness and fire. The surrounding void had become distorted, warped by layers upon layers of concentrated divine power. Even the stars beyond the barrier appeared faint and distant, their light reduced to tiny pinpricks struggling against the enormous phenomenon occupying the heavens.

Entangled directly within the raging fire were millions of translucent, writhing spectral filaments—the soul-traps of Moros. They twisted through the flames like an endless web stretched across reality itself, each filament moving with a life of its own. Whenever one brushed against another, ghostly faces briefly surfaced within the translucent strands before disappearing beneath the black fire.

Any stray asteroid or stray cosmic particle that drifted near the boundary was instantaneously incinerated in body and dragged into spectral torment in spirit.

The destruction left behind no debris.

Only faint trails of dying light remained, swallowed almost immediately by the enormous barrier.

Inside the barrier, Moros and Ignis stood atop the highest spires of the Chthonic Citadel, their combined divine aura pulsing through the structure.

Every pulse sent vibrations through the ancient citadel.

Black stone trembled.

Golden runes embedded within the walls flared and faded.

Far below, enormous pillars disappeared into layers of darkness, supporting a fortress that seemed less like a building and more like a monument carved directly from the corpse of some ancient god.

"They approach," Moros rasped, his eyes flashing with dark, frantic energy. "Their citadel has dropped out of transit space just beyond the outer burn radius."

"Let them come!" Ignis roared, his massive solar body expanding until he towered five hundred feet into the fiery vault above. "Our barrier is an absolute equilibrium of opposing forces! Extreme heat and absolute death interwoven! No spatial jump can bypass it, and no physical force can breach it without being consumed!"

His voice rolled across the Dominion like a cosmic thunderclap.

The solar flames surrounding his body surged upward in response, illuminating enormous portions of the fortress. Behind him, the black-and-gold barrier seemed to answer his declaration, its countless layers twisting faster as if reality itself had been commanded to reinforce the boundary.

High above the roaring inferno, the white-marble citadel drifted into position, completely untroubled by the intense heat or the screaming spirits clawing at its outer energy shields.

The contrast was almost surreal.

The Twin Dominion burned like the final battlefield of creation, while Vince’s citadel remained pristine.

Not a single marble pillar cracked.

Not a single window shattered.

The outer shields merely shimmered.

Every spectral hand that reached toward the citadel dissolved before touching it, scattering into faint motes of silver light.

On the forward terrace, Vince stood with his arms crossed over his chest, his dark coat fluttering gently in the cosmic breeze. Beside him, Elena stood with her golden eyes glowing brightly, translucent spatial grids overlaying the swirling black-and-gold barrier below.

The grids stretched outward in countless layers, covering the battlefield like an enormous mathematical constellation. Lines intersected. Symbols rotated. Pulsing points of light appeared across the barrier, each representing a fluctuation invisible to ordinary perception.

"The structural analysis is complete," Elena reported, her tone calm and crisp. "The barrier isn’t a solid wall—it’s an oscillating feedback loop. Moros’s soul-traps act as the flexible weave, while Ignis’s solar plasma acts as the rigid armor. If a raw force hits it, the energy is distributed across the entire outer boundary instantly."

"So a standard brute-force attack just gets absorbed and reflected," Vetra said, rolling her shoulders and resting her broadsword over her neck. She looked up at Vince with an eager grin. "What’s the play then, Boss?"

Behind her, the enormous dragon wings folded against her back, their edges catching reflections from the distant solar inferno. The sheer scale of the Dominion made even her imposing figure appear small, yet there was no hesitation in her posture.

"It’s an equilibrium," Vince said smoothly, his dark amethyst eyes shining with cold, effortless amusement. "Which means it breaks the moment one side loses its balance."

The words were quiet.

Almost casual.

Yet for a moment, everything around him seemed strangely still.

Vince stepped to the edge of the terrace and extended his hand. "Barnaby."

"Yes, My Lord," Barnaby murmured softly. She stepped forward, her pale hands gently clasping Vince’s outstretched arm. Her fully bloomed golden lotus core expanded from her chest, shining with a pure, blinding celestial radiance that illuminated the entire dark void.

The sudden light swallowed the surrounding darkness.

For an instant, the black-and-gold Dominion was drowned beneath a golden brilliance so pure that the spectral filaments became completely visible.

Millions upon millions of them.

An infinite web of death suspended around the fortress.

Barnaby’s lotus continued to bloom.

Layer after layer of luminous petals unfolded behind her, each petal carrying an overwhelming concentration of celestial energy. The space around her began to tremble, not from destruction, but from the sheer purity of the power being released.

"Elena, map the pulse nodes," Vince commanded. "Lyrielle, Vetra—prepare to strike the anchor points the second the loop stutters."

"Understood!" they replied in unison.

Elena’s fingers danced across her floating runes. "Node alpha locked! Node beta locked! Synchronizing with Barnaby’s lotus pulse in three... two... one... Now!"

Barnaby let out a soft, melodious hum as her lotus light surged into Vince. Rather than unleashing a destructive beam, Vince channeled the golden light into his Inward Absolute Domain, projecting a targeted frequency pulse directly into the barrier’s core loop.

The golden radiance disappeared into Vince’s body.

Then the entire space around him became unnaturally quiet.

The flames stopped crackling.

The spectral filaments seemed to freeze.

Even the cosmic debris drifting through the battlefield halted for the briefest instant.

"Domain Disruption: Absolute Order."

The words carried no roar.

They did not need one.

The moment Vince finished speaking, an invisible pressure descended upon the Dominion.

The golden wave struck the boiling black-and-gold shell.

PING—!

The effect was instantaneous and absolute. Vince’s domain didn’t attack the barrier’s power; it stripped away the harmony between the two Void-Gods. In a microsecond, Moros’s dark soul-filaments stopped cooperating with Ignis’s solar plasma. The two opposing elements—deathly cold spectral energy and roaring solar fire—suddenly turned on each other inside the wall.

The change was horrifyingly beautiful.

Black flames erupted through golden plasma.

Golden lightning tore through spectral threads.

Entire sections of the barrier twisted inward as opposing energies that had once moved as one began devouring each other.

"WHAT?!" Ignis roared inside the Chthonic Citadel, staggering as his solar flames suddenly began incinerating Moros’s soul-threads. "My fire... my fire is attacking the barrier structure!"

"You fool, he severed our domain sync!" Moros shrieked, his spectral face twisting in agonizing terror. "The barrier is collapsing from within!"

Across the Dominion, fractures began racing through the enormous defensive shell.

They were not ordinary cracks.

They were tears in space itself.

Each fracture expanded across thousands of miles, exposing glimpses of the endless void beyond. Black fire poured through one opening while golden plasma exploded through another, creating enormous storms that twisted around the citadel like dying galaxies.

"Now," Vince commanded softly.

Vetra leaped from the terrace, her dark dragon-wings flaring wide as her massive broadsword ignited with high-density soul-flame. At the same instant, Lyrielle drew her elder-wood bow to full draw, releasing a three-pronged arrow of pure, condensed golden light.

For a heartbeat, the battlefield seemed to revolve around them.

Vetra descended like a crimson comet, her silhouette cutting through the burning darkness.

Lyrielle remained suspended above the terrace, golden hair and clothing streaming behind her as the radiance surrounding her arrow intensified until the weapon resembled a miniature sunrise.

"Dragon-Domain: Cleaving Sun!"

"Elven Art: Piercing Horizon!"

Vetra’s massive crimson slash and Lyrielle’s golden light-spears struck the unstable, self-cannibalizing barrier at the exact twin pulse nodes identified by Elena.

The impact produced a flash so bright that the surrounding void disappeared completely.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM—!

A catastrophic explosion of white light, black fire, and shattered space tore across the western sector. The tens of thousands of miles of "impenetrable" Twin Dominion shattered like fragile glass, raining glowing cosmic shards down into the void below.

The explosion continued expanding.

Fragments of the former barrier drifted through space like burning pieces of a broken world. Some were larger than mountains, glowing from within as black flames crawled across their surfaces. Others dissolved into glittering particles before they could travel more than a few miles.

The shockwave blasted through the Chthonic Citadel, blowing away its stone battlements and leaving Moros and Ignis completely exposed atop the central plaza, their combined defense utterly destroyed in a single tactical sequence.

The once-imposing fortress now stood exposed beneath the open void.

Broken towers leaned at impossible angles.

Ancient walls had been ripped apart.

The black stone plaza beneath the two Void-Gods was covered in enormous cracks, with streams of residual golden and crimson energy crawling through them like veins of molten light.

For several seconds, nothing moved.

Then footsteps echoed through the ruins.

Vince walked forward through the clearing smoke, stepping lightly onto the cracked floor of the Chthonic Citadel as his party formed up behind him. Barnaby hovered at his right, Lyrielle and Vetra flanked him with ready weapons, and Elena managed the spatial lock above.

The smoke parted around Vince.

Behind him, the broken remains of the Twin Dominion continued collapsing into the abyss.

Yet Vince barely seemed to notice.

His dark coat moved gently in the lingering cosmic wind.

His expression remained unchanged.

No strain.

No urgency.

No trace of doubt.

Only the quiet certainty of someone who had already decided how the battle would end.

Vince looked down at the two staggering, trembling Void-Gods before him, his expression one of absolute, untouchable supremacy.

"Your wall is broken," Vince said softly, his voice echoing across the ruins. "Now... give me your cores."
