My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered
Chapter 244: Boundary of the unnamed
The reclamation of the Lost Sovereign-Tree and the 100% completion of Barnaby’s Lotus Core had sent a massive, irreversible shockwave through the fabric of the Null Expanse.
Where a wild, unpredictable void once drifted, a massive, golden-anchored territory now sat firmly embedded within Vince’s Inward Absolute Domain. The white-marble citadel was no longer a ruin; living silver-wood roots had woven through every cracked stone, stabilized the floating continent, and locked its ley-node directly into the First Canopy’s network.
From the high terrace of the citadel, the view was breathtaking. The void-fog that had obscured the far reaches of the Null Expanse had receded for tens of thousands of miles, revealing the true scale of the outer cosmos.
And what lay beyond the border was not empty space.
"It’s a divine cluster," Elena reported, standing at the edge of the terrace as her holographic tactical mirrors expanded into a sprawling, three-dimensional star map. Her golden eyes flickered with intense focus. "Vince, when you fully blossomed the lotus and anchored the World-Heart, you forced the Null Expanse to collapse its spatial folding. Beyond our current perimeter sit five massive, sovereign domain-realms."
Vetra stepped up beside her, resting her heavy broadsword against her shoulder, a dangerous, eager grin spreading across her face. "Sovereign domain-realms? Meaning more overlords?"
"Not like the Six Sovereigns of the lower provinces," Barnaby murmured smoothly. She drifted up to Vince’s left shoulder, looking thoroughly radiant. Her golden eyes burned with a clear, celestial radiance, and the bloomed lotus mark over her heart glowed softly through her translucent gown, emitting a steady, warm pulse that anchored her body directly to Vince’s existence. "The Six Sovereigns were bureaucrats sitting on an artificial Obelisk. The entities ruling those five realms are Void-Gods—primordial cosmic lords born directly from unshaped chaos. They never bowed to the Obelisk because their individual power was vast enough to claim entire outer sectors."
Lyrielle stepped up to Vince’s right side, her elder-wood bow slung gracefully over her shoulder. Her forest-green dress was trimmed with new, glowing silver-wood embroidery—a gift from the awakened World-Heart.
"And they know we’re here," Lyrielle added, her delicate pointed ears twitching as she looked toward the dark horizon. "The moment the World-Heart reconnected to the First Canopy, I felt five immense, hostile divinities lock their awareness onto our position."
"Good," Vince said smoothly, his dark coat settling over his broad shoulders as he took a single, unhurried step to the edge of the terrace. "It saves us the trouble of hunting them down."
He looked out toward the nearest domain-realm—a colossal, floating storm of crimson void-fire and jagged obsidian spires hovering twenty thousand miles deep in the expanse.
The atmosphere around that distant realm burned with a violent, suffocating pressure that sought to crush everything in its vicinity. It was the domain of Kharon the Unyielding, a Primordial Void-God of War and Destruction who had devoured three ancient civilizations before the Sovereigns locked the outer perimeter.
"Elena," Vince commanded quietly. "What is the status of the crimson sector?"
"Kharon is already mobilizing," Elena answered, her fingers sweeping across the floating runes. "He has detected the lotus’s completed aura and your absolute domain. Rather than retreating, he is massing his entire vanguard—hundreds of thousands of void-born war-beasts and high-tier void-heralds. They are building a spatial bridge directly toward our citadel."
Vetra let out a boisterous, bloodthirsty laugh, her silver scales flickering with intense crimson heat. "A direct assault? I like this guy already! He’s got more spine than those arrogant inquisitors."
"He doesn’t have spine, Vetra," Barnaby corrected with a feline, amused smirk. "He has hubris. He thinks because he existed outside the Obelisk’s law, no mortal or new deity can enforce order over his wild chaos."
Vince’s mouth curved into a dark, cold smirk. He reached out, his hand wrapping around Lyrielle’s waist to pull her close, while his other hand casually rested on Barnaby’s hip.
"Then let’s teach him what true authority looks like," Vince said softly. "We aren’t defending this citadel. We are marching into his throne room."
Ten thousand miles into the crimson sector, the sky was a churning sea of blood-red clouds and raining liquid obsidian.
The realm of Kharon the Unyielding was built entirely for war. Massive floating battle-cruisers carved from dark void-iron drifted through the crimson atmosphere, carrying millions of monstrous, multi-limbed void-beasts clad in spiked armor. At the center of the domain sat the Black Fortress of Blood-Iron, a terrifying, fifty-thousand-foot tower forged from the compressed cores of conquered worlds.
Atop the fortress’s highest battlements stood Kharon.
He was a terrifying titan thirty feet tall, his body composed of living crimson void-lava encased in jagged, obsidian plate armor. In his four massive arms, he held four ancient, world-splitting broadswords that dripped with spatial-corroding acid. His single, giant crimson eye flared with raw, mindless fury as he watched his war-fleet construct the spatial bridge.
"HEAR ME, WAR-HERALDS!" Kharon’s voice boomed like shattering mountains, vibrating through the crimson sky. "AN INTRUDER HAS ERSED THE LOWER OBELISK AND CLAIMED THE WORLD-HEART! THEY DARE BRING ORDER TO MY VOID! WE WILL CRUSH THEIR CITADEL, DRINK THEIR CELESTIAL LOTUS, AND DRAG THEIR SOULS TO THE BLOOD-PITS!"
Millions of void-beasts roared in violent unison, their deafening shrieks shaking the foundation of the floating fortress.
Before the echoes of their war-cry could fade, the crimson sky directly above the Black Fortress fractured.
There was no spatial warning, no spell array, and no scout report. A single, dark-gold shockwave expanded outward, instantly erasing the blood-red clouds, the liquid obsidian rain, and the oppressive heat of Kharon’s domain across a ten-thousand-mile radius.
The sky turned a serene, deep amethyst.
CLINK.
Every single one of the floating void-iron battle-cruisers groaned as their anti-gravity runes were stripped away in an instant. The massive war-ships plummeted from the sky like lead weights, crashing into the obsidian mountains below in deafening, explosive impacts.
Kharon froze, his giant crimson eye widening in sheer, unadulterated shock as his four world-splitting broadswords suddenly felt infinitely heavy in his hands.
High above the Black Fortress, stepping out onto the empty air, was Vince.
His dark coat billowed gently in the newly cleared breeze. Floating right behind his shoulders were Elena, Vetra, Barnaby, and Lyrielle. None of them wore armor. None of them held defensive charms. They stood with the calm, relaxed posture of rulers inspecting a newly acquired property.
"YOU..." Kharon roared, his four arms trembling as he pointed his burning broadswords up at Vince. "YOU DARE STEP INTO MY DOMAIN ALONE?!"
Vince looked down at the thirty-foot Void-God with a gaze so cold, calm, and utterly detached that it made Kharon’s living-lava blood run cold.
"Your domain?" Vince asked softly, his voice echoing clearly inside the minds of every surviving void-herald in the sector. "There are no domain-realms in this expanse. There is only my space... and the space I have not yet claimed."
Vince raised his right hand, his fingers extending toward the massive Black Fortress.
"Inward Absolute Domain: Rank Severance."
CRACK—!
A silent, invisible wave of gold light swept through Kharon’s massive body.
Instantly, the primordial void-god divinity that Kharon had accumulated over ten thousand years was severed. The primordial lava forming his flesh cooled into brittle stone; his four world-splitting broadswords crumbled into fine grey sand; and his thirty-foot frame shrank violently down to the size of an ordinary mortal, crashing hard onto his knees upon the cold stone floor of his own fortress.
Kharon clutched his chest, gasping for air as his giant crimson eye flickered with sheer, overwhelming terror. He looked up at Vince, trembling uncontrollably as he realized his ancient, primordial status had been completely erased with a single gesture.
"What... what are you...?" Kharon whimpered, his booming voice reduced to a raspy, terrified squeak.
Vince descended slowly, his dark-gold force platform settling right in front of the kneeling, defeated Void-God.
Vetra stepped forward, resting her broadsword casually against Kharon’s neck, while Lyrielle drew her bow, her golden arrow aimed right between his eyes. Barnaby floated beside Vince, her bloomed lotus glowing brightly as she looked down at the pathetic figure with amused disgust.
"I am the sole law of this cosmos," Vince said smoothly, looking down at the broken Void-God. "Surrender your domain-core, or cease to exist."
Kharon didn’t hesitate. He slammed his forehead into the stone, bowing deeply at Vince’s boots as a glowing, crimson domain-crystal rose from his chest, offering his entire sector and his legions to Vince’s absolute rule.
Vince reached out, taking the crimson core and tossing it casually to Elena, who caught it with a smooth, tactical smile.
Vince turned his gaze toward the four remaining distant sectors of the Null Expanse, where the other four Void-Gods were now watching in paralyzed, total horror.
A dark, victorious smirk touched Vince’s lips.
"One down," Vince murmured. "Four to go."
