My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered
Chapter 242: The Blooming Nexus
The Primordial Void-Core did not merely radiate power; it hummed with a heavy, rhythmic heartbeat that vibrated through the dark-gold floor of Vince’s domain. The house-sized crystal burned with a dense, liquid-amber luminescence, its outer surface swirling with concentrated cosmic threads that smelled of ozone, crushed starlight, and rich, unshaped mana.
Barnaby floated directly in front of the colossal sphere. Her bare feet hovered inches above the force platform, her translucent silver gown billowing around her like liquid mist in the void-wind. Her golden eyes were wide, lidded with an intoxicating blend of reverence and sheer, unadulterated hunger.
"It’s breathtaking," Barnaby breathed, her voice trembling slightly as she reached out with trembling, pale fingers. "Six thousand years of stasis under the Sovereigns, and I had forgotten what untamed cosmic essence tastes like."
"Don’t just stare at it," Vince said smoothly, stepping up right behind her. His long fingers rested on the curve of her hip, his thumb pressing through the thin silk with a firm, possessive warmth that anchored her floating form. "Absorb it."
Barnaby let out a low, shuddering gasp at his touch, leaning her head back against his shoulder. "With your permission, My Lord."
Vince closed his fist slightly, channeling a direct stream of his Inward Absolute Domain into the massive core.
CRACK—!
The house-sized crystal did not shatter into dangerous shrapnel. Under Vince’s absolute command, the rigid outer shell dissolved instantly into a dense, swirling river of liquid-gold light. The blinding current rose into the air, coiling around Vince and Barnaby like a celestial serpent before diving straight into Barnaby’s chest—directly toward the soul-space connecting her to Vince’s pocket dimension.
Deep within Vince’s personal space, the lotus core—sealed for millennia—woke with a violent, ecstatic shudder.
The three-round transfer from their earlier encounter had already laid the foundation, filling the core’s base with dense, golden vitality. Now, as the raw, primordial essence of the defeated leviathan flooded the nexus, the tightly bound petals began to unfurl with audible, crystalline snaps.
PING—! PING—! PING—!
One by one, the grand outer petals opened, stretching wide inside the void of his pocket dimension. The pale, silver-gold bloom expanded, its center erupting into a radiant star-burst of liquid mana that fed back through their soul-tether, flushing Barnaby’s physical body with intense, overwhelming heat.
Barnaby’s head snapped back, a long, breathless moan escaping her parted lips. Her back arched sharply against Vince’s chest, her fingers clutching frantically at his forearms as her golden eyes flared with brilliant, star-like light. A flush of pure, radiant pink spread across her alabaster skin, rising from her bare chest all the way to the tips of her delicate ears.
"Ah... Vince...!" she cried out, her voice raspy, broken, and rich with pleasure. "It’s... it’s so heavy... the core is opening...!"
Behind them, Lyrielle’s breath hitched. The elven princess stood close to Vetra, her bow held loosely at her side as she watched the display with wide, fascinated violet eyes. She could feel the ambient wave of golden warmth washing out from Barnaby—a wave so potent and intoxicating that it made Lyrielle’s own mana circuits tingle with a sweet, sympathetic ache.
"Is... is she alright?" Lyrielle asked softly, her cheeks flushing as she looked up at Vetra.
Vetra let out a low, knowing chuckle, resting her heavy broadsword against her shoulder as her amber eyes gleamed. "She’s more than alright, little princess. Her spirit-core was starved for centuries. What Vince is feeding her right now is better than any divine nectar."
"Ninety-five percent," Elena reported calmly from Vince’s left, her tactical screen reflecting the rapid numerical surge. "The lotus core has stabilized at ninety-five percent capacity. The remaining five percent will require a higher-order void anchor—likely the central ley-node of the Null Expanse."
The river of liquid gold finally tapered off, leaving only faint, glittering motes of dust floating in the air.
Barnaby collapsed backward, her soft weight falling entirely against Vince’s chest. Her breathing was ragged and shallow, her heavy breasts rising and falling sharply beneath the damp silk of her gown. She turned her head, burying her flushed face into the crook of Vince’s neck, her lips pressing a warm, needy kiss against his collarbone.
"You... you monster," Barnaby whispered, her tone a delicious mix of exhaustion and absolute adoration. "You filled my core with so much power... I can barely keep my physical form anchored."
"Then stay close," Vince rumbled softly, his arm sliding around her waist to support her effortlessly. "We aren’t finished with this realm yet."
Barnaby let out a soft, satisfied purr, her golden eyes closing as she allowed herself to rest against his side, her pale hand resting flat against his chest over his beating heart.
With the Void-Siphon neutralized and its core harvested, the surrounding void-fog began to thin, revealing the broader landscape of the Null Expanse.
Without the monster’s massive body obscuring their vision, the true scale of the uncharted realm came into focus. Miles away from their position, floating in the center of a massive, swirling nebula of violet lightning, sat an incredible sight: a colossal, shattered continent made of white marble and glowing silver-wood root systems.
At the center of that floating continent stood a massive, ruined citadel—a structure that bore the distinct, ancient architecture of the First Canopy, but on a scale ten times grander than the current elven capital.
Lyrielle gasped, taking two quick steps to the edge of the force platform, her knuckles white as she stared at the distant continent.
"Mother’s scrolls..." Lyrielle whispered, her voice filled with awe and disbelief. "The Lost Sovereign-Tree... The Crown of the Prime Ancestors!"
Vince stepped up beside her, his hand resting lightly on the small of her back. "Explain."
Lyrielle turned to him, her violet eyes shining with excitement. "Before the Six Sovereigns established the Obelisk, the elven people didn’t just live in the lower provinces! The Prime Ancestors built the first royal city around the World-Heart—a cosmic ley-node that produced infinite elder-wood and pure mana. But when the Sovereigns locked the realm, the World-Heart was severed and cast into the Null Expanse! My family thought it was destroyed six thousand years ago!"
"It isn’t destroyed," Elena noted, recalibrating her spatial mirrors to scan the distant structure. "The ley-node at the center of that ruined city is still active. In fact, it’s emitting a continuous, high-frequency pulse. But... there is a massive guardian presence guarding the central court."
Elena tapped her screen, projecting a close-up image of the ruined citadel’s grand courtyard.
Seated upon a throne of petrified silver-wood at the center of the ruins was a terrifying figure. It was a humanoid entity towering twenty feet tall, clad in rusted, ancient armor forged from divine gold. Its long, matted hair was woven with dead elder-vines, and in its lap rested a massive, double-headed battleaxe that crackled with unshaped void-lightning.
The entity’s eyes were completely dark, filled with the hollow, stagnant madness of a creature that had been stranded in the lawless void for six millennia.
"A Void-Ritter," Barnaby murmured, opening her golden eyes slightly as she looked at the screen. "A ancient high-tier champion of the Prime Elven Court, corrupted and hollowed out by centuries of void-exposure. It was left behind to guard the World-Heart."
Vetra grinned, rolling her shoulders with an audible crack. "A corrupted ancient champion guarding a high-tier cosmic core? Now that sounds like a real workout."
Lyrielle looked at the distant ruined city, her heart beating wildly in her chest. She looked up at Vince, her expression shifting from awe to a deep, resolute pride.
"Vince..." Lyrielle said softly, taking his free hand and pressing it against her cheek. "If we reclaim the World-Heart, my mother and I can reconnect the First Canopy to its true ancestral root. It would double the mana output of the elven realm and give our people an unbreakable foundation under your empire."
Vince looked down at the young elven princess. The hesitant, royal girl who had once complained about court protocol was completely gone; standing before him was a true crown princess, eager to conquer her people’s lost heritage at his side.
A dark, approving smirk touched Vince’s lips. He leaned down, catching her chin between his fingers and kissing her deeply, tasting the sweet, lingering heat on her lips before pulling back.
"Then we take the crown back," Vince said smoothly.
He raised his left hand, pointing directly toward the floating marble continent.
"Absolute Spatial Fold."
BZZZZZZT—!
The miles of empty space between their platform and the shattered elven continent folded instantly like a piece of paper. In less than a heartbeat, the surrounding void vanished, and Vince’s party materialized directly at the grand, cracked gates of the ancient white-marble citadel.
The sudden, violent displacement of air echoed through the quiet ruins like a thunderclap.
High atop the stone staircase, seated upon his throne of petrified wood, the twenty-foot Void-Ritter slowly opened its dark, hollow eyes. A guttural, ancient rumble tore from its throat as it gripped the handle of its massive battleaxe, rising to its feet with a terrifying, heavy clatter of golden armor.
ROAAAAAAAR—!
The corrupted ancient champion raised its battleaxe, coating the entire courtyard in a blinding storm of black void-lightning.
Vince stepped forward, his dark coat billowing in the lightning-charged wind, his dark amethyst eyes locking onto the giant monster above with absolute, unbothered calm.
"Lyrielle, Vetra," Vince commanded quietly, his voice cutting through the roaring storm with effortless authority. "Clear the court."
