When Gu Weilan woke up, she was already back in her room.

The moment she opened her eyes, she saw a Mo Qilin, his face etched with suppressed anger.

Gu Weilan glanced curiously at the window. Outside lay the dark night sky, scattered with countless stars.

Zhan Heng walked over to her, lowered his head, and pressed his lips against hers. She couldn’t help but reach out a hand, pushing Zhan Heng’s Qilin face away.

As she sat up, a hoarse voice came from the corner of the room. "You’re awake?"

"Ling Feng?"

"Mhm," Shi Lingfeng said softly. "Close your eyes."

Gu Weilan obediently closed her eyes and immediately sensed a bright light beyond her eyelids.

Shi Lingfeng had turned on the light. "How are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?"

Gu Weilan raised her eyebrows slightly. "No. I had a good sleep and feel completely refreshed. I’m just a little thirsty."

Shi Lingfeng immediately walked over from the sofa with a glass of water. "Is room-temperature water okay?"

Gu Weilan nodded.

Shi Lingfeng sat beside her, slipping an arm behind her lower back to lift her up. He let her lean against his chest as he helped her drink the water. She drank more than half the glass before turning her head slightly, indicating she had had enough.

Shi Lingfeng set the glass down and asked softly, "Let’s form a bond. What do you think?"

As he spoke, he gently stood up and helped her lean back against the headboard. Then, he dropped to one knee and took a velvet box out of his Space Button. He opened the box to reveal a pristine white Wolf Tooth.

Gu Weilan was slightly stunned. She wondered, "Who proposes by giving someone their own tooth? Well, maybe I just don’t understand the customs of the interstellar beast world."

Not one to act coy, she simply nodded and accepted.

Shi Lingfeng fastened the Wolf Tooth pendant around her neck. He tilted his head back slightly, gazing up at her as she sat on the bed. Without his glasses, his striking, sharply defined features gave his handsomeness a somewhat aggressive, predatory edge.

Right now, however, his cheeks were flushed pink. "Then... Female Master, tonight... can we sleep together?"

Before Gu Weilan could answer, Zhan Heng lunged forward, swatting a paw hard against Shi Lingfeng’s blocking arm.

Zhan Heng let out a low, growling roar in the beast language. "Female Master just woke up from her coma! What breed of bastard beast are you?"

The moment the words had left his mouth, Shi Lingfeng regretted them. He remembered how he had just been worried sick that something was wrong with his Female Master’s spiritual power. How could he have let his excitement make him completely forget about that?

His face washed with guilt, Shi Lingfeng hurriedly brought up his Light Brain. "Female Master, I apologize. I got carried away. Your spiritual power is completely exhausted and you’re still in a weakened state. I shouldn’t have made such an inconsiderate request."

Gu Weilan opened her mouth. She actually wanted to tell him that as long as he was willing to use an Incubation Pod, she was entirely up for it!

She thought, "But now... if I just say that out loud, won’t it make me look a little too desperate for sex? Forget it. Whatever!"

Clearing her throat, Gu Weilan brought up her own Light Brain. Following the steps Shi Lingfeng had taught her, she navigated to the Beast God Center’s matching network and submitted the application to form a bond.

Instantly, digital fireworks and cheering sounds erupted across the Light Brain’s holographic display. A melodious, ancient tune began to play, formally blessing her and Shi Lingfeng as they formed their bond.

Shi Lingfeng kissed Gu Weilan’s forehead, his eyes brimming with uncontained joy. He was a sharp, fiercely imposing young male, standing at an impressive height with a slightly mature edge. Yet right now, the tips of his ears and the corners of his eyes were flushed a deep pink, which greatly softened the cold, hard lines of his striking features. It instead gave him an endearing air of youthful innocence.

"Can I... Can I sleep next to you tonight?" Gathering his courage to ask, Shi Lingfeng then rushed to explain, "I won’t do anything! I just purely want to sleep by your side... After all, we just formed a bond today..."

Gu Weilan nodded. "Alright."

Zhan Heng was drowning in a sea of jealousy, gritting his teeth so hard he almost shattered them!

If he and his younger brother hadn’t been fighting to protect a formula improvement research base on one of the nutrient conglomerate’s Resource Stars, he wouldn’t have been so severely injured. As a result, his Spiritual Sea was still violently suppressing itself, leaving him completely unable to return to his Beastman Form.

Previously, he had managed to hold his Beastman Form for ten minutes a day. But ever since he had gone out to negotiate that business deal a few days ago, he had lost even that fleeting ability.

Zhan Heng hadn’t felt this sense of urgency before. But now, seeing Gu Weilan form a bond with Shi Lingfeng so quickly, panic set in. He felt he was the very first male to discover what a fascinating female Gu Weilan was. By all rights, he should have been Gu Weilan’s first Beast Husband.

While Zhan Heng was glaring at Shi Lingfeng with a furious Qilin death stare, the other man quickly finished washing up. Dressed in a navy-blue silk robe, Shi Lingfeng walked over to the opposite side of the bed. He climbed onto the mattress, glancing first at Zhan Heng, and then at Gu Weilan.

Gu Weilan thought it over. Since today was the day she and Shi Lingfeng officially formed a bond, Zhan Heng, this Little Qilin baby, really ought to return to his own room and sleep by himself.

She reasoned, "After all... if the opportunity presents itself, I definitely want a taste of meat tonight! I’m a perfectly healthy female with normal physiological needs. That’s not weird, right?"

Acting on that thought, Gu Weilan scooped up Zhan Heng. Before the Little Qilin could even recover from his wide-eyed disbelief—and well before he could put up a fight—she carried him over and unceremoniously tossed him out the bedroom door.

As she shut the door, she added, "Be good. Sleep by yourself tonight!"

Zhan Heng bared his teeth. He wanted to ram his head against the door, but he forced himself to swallow down his primal urges.

He fumed, "A Female Master has many Beast Husbands. It’s completely normal for her to spend time with them... My ass it’s normal! I’m still pissed!"

However, Zhan Heng restrained his temper, deciding not to disturb Gu Weilan. He padded back to his own room dejectedly, his eyes locked onto his door without blinking.

He grumbled internally, "If I had known this would happen, I never would have opened the front door for Shi Lingfeng! Wait, no. If I hadn’t opened the door, he would have just carried my unconscious Female Master back to his own room. I’m still so mad! I’m angry at my own uselessness. If only I had been stronger, I wouldn’t have gotten injured!"

Meanwhile, Gu Weilan tapped the Space Button embedded in her Light Computer Bracelet and retrieved an Incubation Pod roughly the size of a pet backpack. She turned sideways, her gaze burning brightly as she looked at Shi Lingfeng. "Do you want to try?"

Shi Lingfeng’s face flushed even redder.

He thought, "Female Master is really playing dirty."

His mind was now entirely flooded with vividly erotic images. But he couldn’t act on them.

With great difficulty, Shi Lingfeng shook his head. "Female Master, you need to rest properly first. I can sense the Beast Rank Energy around your body; it’s still quite weak."

Gu Weilan pouted in dissatisfaction. She put away the Incubation Pod and lay back down—stiff, disgruntled, yet perfectly peaceful, like an entombed mummy.

Shi Lingfeng carefully edged closer to her, drawing her into his embrace and pressing a soft kiss to the hair on the right side of her head.

Gu Weilan raised an eyebrow. Rolling over to face him, she reached out and tapped Shi Lingfeng’s jawline. Trailing her fingers down his sharply defined contours, she brought her fingertips to rest squarely against his Adam’s apple.

She lightly stroked it with her fingertip.

Shi Lingfeng couldn’t help but swallow hard.

Sliding her fingers down to rest on his collarbone, she leaned in close and gave the exposed skin there a gentle bite.

The arm Shi Lingfeng had wrapped around her suddenly tightened, his hand curling into a tight fist. He could clearly feel that she was doing this on purpose. Was she punishing him?
