Shi Lingfeng placed Gu Weilan on the large bed in the room, resting his hands on either side of her.

Just as he was about to speak, Gu Weilan wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and sealed his lips with her own.

"A spinach-flavored kiss for you! That’s what you get for not carrying me to wash up and brush my teeth!" Gu Weilan gloated after the kiss.

Shi Lingfeng paused for a moment, then chuckled softly and reached out to unbutton his cuffs.

The way he pulled his shirt open was far more visually arresting than anything Gu Weilan had ever swiped past on those short video apps!

Shi Lingfeng scooped Gu Weilan into his arms, his voice hoarse. "I’ll carry you to wash up."

Gu Weilan dangled her legs. "No can do. I need to take a medicinal bath. You have to take one, too. We need to bathe separately."

Shi Lingfeng stopped in his tracks, took a deep breath, and said, "Alright, I’ll bathe. I’ll do whatever you want me to do, okay?

"But, Female Master, I have some information here. Some about Gu Yaoqing, some about Xuanshuo, and some about your automatically matched Beast Husband, Lu Xuyin.

"This information... has to be traded for benefits from my Female Master. Do you want to trade?"

Gu Weilan bit down on Shi Lingfeng’s collarbone, eliciting a muffled groan from him.

What else could he do? He had to speak. It wasn’t like he could actually bargain with his Female Master.
