Chapter 1061 - 1604: Are You Feeling Unwell?

"Senator Gu, are you really using Sila to threaten Melody Thorne? Please give us an answer!"

"Senator Gu, you actually use such despicable means; you don’t deserve Hawthorne Family’s orders!"

"Not qualified, not qualified!

The crowd became more and more agitated!

"Everyone, calm down, calm down," Melody Thorne hurriedly pretended to soothe the restless crowd.

"Everyone, calm down! I did not kidnap Sila; she can move around freely. We just happened to meet today, so I invited her to come along!"

"Then let her come here, we want to see with our own eyes that she can move around freely!"

The anger Senator Gu had been restraining nearly collapsed; he glanced at Melody Thorne warningly, silently cautioning that if she dared to play any tricks, he would definitely kill Sila!

"Mrs. Sila, everyone now suspects I’ve kidnapped you, can you come up on stage and explain to everyone?"

Sila glanced at Melody Thorne and then stood up under everyone’s watchful eyes to walk towards the stage.

As she stepped down, she was immediately surrounded by a large group of reporters, which had been arranged from the start. Melody Thorne guessed that Senator Gu would be pressured to let Sila walk in the crowd, so she placed people among the reporters.

Now Sila was safe!

"Everyone guessed correctly, he is indeed threatening me!" Melody Thorne pointed her finger at Senator Gu!

"Melody Thorne, dare you renege?" Senator Gu sneered darkly, "Do you think I am unprepared? That I didn’t anticipate you’d pull something today?"

Melody Thorne squinted her eyes.

With a "boom," the entire stage collapsed.

Quinn Li swiftly embraced Melody Thorne and leapt off the high stage; it all happened in a matter of seconds. By the time everyone regained their senses, Senator Gu had vanished!

"What just happened?"

"No idea, no idea, probably fled after being exposed, right?"

"Mom, are you okay?" Melody Thorne rushed to Sila’s side, "Are you hurt?"

"No, I’m not, I’m fine," Sila’s eyes flickered, her face was somewhat pale, yet she tried her best to hide it.

"Is it true then, Sila? Did he really kidnap you?"

"Everyone calm down; calm down, I will explain clearly to everyone on Weibo. But for now, my mom needs rest, please give her time to recuperate!"

"Sister-in-law, let’s go back first," Leon Rivers escorted Melody Thorne and Sila away.

The Quinn Family.

"Have you found that Senator Gu?" Melody Thorne always felt they missed something as if something was not right.

"Not yet, I suspect someone was bribed in advance. Senator Gu probably anticipated it long ago, it’s just too easy for him to escape; could it be he has other agendas?" Harold Chapman spoke worriedly.

Moreover, with Senator Gu escaped, he might hide in the shadows and target Melody Thorne!

Sila’s hand clutched tightly onto the sofa, sweat layering her forehead repeatedly, her face was becoming increasingly worse.

"Mrs. Sila?" Leon Rivers’ gaze suddenly landed on Sila, he strode forward, and supported her.

"Mom," Melody Thorne exclaimed, "Mom, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"It’s nothing, nothing, Melody don’t worry, Mom is fine,"

"Mrs. Sila, did Senator Gu do something to you?" Leon squinted, three fingers touched Sila’s wrist, his expression also turned increasingly severe.

"What is it? Leon Rivers, what do you mean?" Melody Thorne urged.
