Chapter 1057 - 1060: Encountering Mishap

"Jared, weren’t you just saying you wanted to stay up all night?" Leon Rivers asked softly.

Melody Thorne turned her head, "If you stay here all night, I’m guessing your little Chloe could be tricked away by someone tonight!"

"Let’s go, how could we stay up all night here? Just joking, let’s all head back. My little Chloe is still waiting for me!"

At the Quinn Family, the butler broke out in a cold sweat after taking a phone call.

"Madam, has Mrs. Sila contacted you at all? The Seymour Family just called to say Mrs. Sila secretly came over here to surprise you, without telling anyone, but we haven’t received any news at all."

"Did my mom come here?" Melody Thorne hurriedly took out her phone, "No, I haven’t received any call from her!"

"Don’t worry! I’ll have someone check today’s flights," Jared Quinn immediately contacted Harold Chapman, "Check today’s flight information to see if Sila is there. She came to Ardenia and now we’ve lost contact with her!"

"Okay, right away!"

Melody Thorne tried calling Sila several times, finding that the phone was either turned off or showed no service!

"How could there be no service? Is my mom in a place without signal?" Melody Thorne said urgently. It’s normal for a phone to run out of battery, but having no service is a big issue. In Ardenia, there’s no place without signal unless it’s sealed off!

Jared Quinn furrowed his cold, sharp brows slightly, having a good guess already. Places without signal are typically either too remote, or the signal source has been maliciously cut off!

Mrs. Sila might be in trouble.

"Dad, don’t worry. Jared Quinn has already asked someone to check the flight records," Melody Thorne received a call from Howard Seymour, "We’ll have news soon; don’t worry!"

"Melody, have you guys been dealing with Congressman Gu recently?" Howard Seymour’s steady voice came through.

"Yes, Dad. It’s because I accidentally got involved in their affairs after saving Weston Hawthorne from a drink-related incident. How did you know we were dealing with her?" Melody Thorne’s heart skipped a beat; she kept it very secretive. Besides those around her, no one knew they were dealing with Congressman Gu!

"I’ve already found out your mom’s whereabouts. After she got off the plane, several soldiers took her away. At first, I thought it was Jared, with Harold Chapman, planning to surprise you. Now it seems it’s likely that Congressman Gu. You might not have done a clean job, and were found out!"

"Is it Congressman Gu?" Melody Thorne squinted her clear, sharp eyes.

Previously, when Melody and Chloe Summers were tailing Congressman Gu, they weren’t noticed, but they seemed to have missed a very crucial detail. There might have been surveillance cameras outside that woman’s yard and the coffee shop that day!

"Dad, don’t worry. Congressman Gu has always thought I have the most important thing from the Hawthorne Family, so he’s always checking on me. He wouldn’t dare hurt my mom!"

"Did you take something from the Hawthorne Family?"

Melody Thorne hesitated, "Yeah, I did. I’ll be contacting Congressman Gu soon, so you don’t have to worry!"

"Alright, be careful and make sure neither you nor your mom gets hurt. This time it’s my fault for being too careless. If I had someone escort her, nothing would have happened," Howard Seymour said with self-blame.

"Dad, don’t blame yourself. I’ll hang up now; I’ll contact them right away!"

"Alright."
