Chapter 1055 - 1058: He Is Angry

"I’ll deal with you when I get back. Stay here and behave yourself, got it? I’ll be back soon," Jared Quinn instructed, as if afraid she might run away.

Melody Thorne chuckled softly as she watched him leave the office. With a quick spin in her leather chair, she sent a message to Chloe Summers and then left the Quinn Corporation.

Chloe Summers drove up to pick her up. After receiving the message, the two women immediately met up to investigate something about Senator Gu.

Inside a bar, chaos had erupted. Senator Gu and those two women were surrounded, their faces ashen. Many people were taking pictures of them.

"Tell me, am I your girlfriend, or is she?"

"Come on, admit it, are you using the power of both families to achieve your goals at all costs?"

"Come clean, is that it? Did you give me the same ring and then give it to other women? Are you deliberately using and playing with our feelings?"

Melody Thorne watched the scene unfold on her computer with satisfaction. This Senator Gu did not disappoint her. Criticism of him was flooding the internet, and she had someone release news about the Hawthorne Family, claiming they were innocent!

"Take both of them away!" Senator Gu shouted in anger, his face nearly murderous.

"Yes, sir."

The bar quickly returned to calm as Senator Gu left with the two women!

Jared Quinn had wrapped up the meeting at lightning speed, taking only half an hour. He had originally planned other things with Melody Thorne, such as a candlelit dinner in the evening and other activities that little couples do together.

But when he pushed open the office door, he found it empty!

In the past, he had been content with a simpler life. Ever since Melody Thorne appeared, these things began to matter to him.

A sticky note was left on the desk’s computer: "I went out for a bit, be right back, mwah!"

In an instant, Jared Quinn’s exceedingly handsome face was engulfed by a storm of fury.

He was angry!

After enjoying the commotion, Melody Thorne hurried back to Quinn Corporation and pushed open the office door, only to find it empty.

"Is Jared Quinn still in a meeting?" Melody Thorne glanced at the clock on the wall; it had been two hours since she left.

"No, the CEO has finished the meeting, but he seemed unhappy and has already left the company," someone replied.

Melody Thorne muttered, "Didn’t he see the little note I left him?"

"Not sure about that, but the CEO has already left."

Melody Thorne returned to the Quinn Family, just as Jared was coming downstairs.

"Why didn’t you wait for me to come back?" Melody Thorne, hands folded behind her back, protested with a nasal whine as she approached.

Jared casually slid a hand into his crisp suit pants pocket and descended the stairs with an unhurried demeanor. "Forgot."

Melody Thorne mumbled, "...Where are you going?"

"Something came up with Leon Rivers and the others," Jared Quinn said as he left the villa.

"What’s up with him? Why does he seem so off?" Melody Thorne furrowed her brow, feeling something was amiss.

The butler overheard and chuckled. "Ma’am, it’s not only women who have tempers; sometimes men do too."

"I don’t get it."

"He means Dad is protesting against you," Timmy declared, leaning against the stairs with a slight glee. "You’ve been busy these days and haven’t spent time with him, so now he’s angry."

Melody Thorne sighed, "Wasn’t he the one who used to love being on his own?"
