Chapter 1026 - 1029: Mommy, Do You Not Love Me Anymore?

"Butler, you don’t need to be busy, I’m really tired, I want to go upstairs to sleep."

"Alright, then you go ahead and sleep. Jared might be at Harold Chapman’s these days; not sure if he’ll be back."

"Okay."

The woman went upstairs directly to Melody Thorne and Jared Quinn’s bedroom, rummaging around for things, from the wardrobe to the drawers, and from the drawers to every place where things could be stored, even the bathroom wasn’t missed!

But she searched almost everywhere and still couldn’t find what she wanted. Could there be a secret room or something in this bedroom?

"Melody, what are you looking for?" Timmy asked, rubbing his eyes, standing outside the bedroom door.

The woman was startled, immediately stopped her actions, and stood up. "Timmy, why haven’t you slept yet? I dropped something and can’t find it; I’m just looking for it."

"I just went down to get some water and heard noise from the room, so I came in. What did you drop?" Timmy walked in. "Do you need me to help you find it?"

"No, please let me look for it myself. You should go to bed; don’t you have school tomorrow?"

Hey, Timmy raised his head. Isn’t tomorrow Sunday? How could there be school?

"Melody, my dad’s not here today, can you sleep with me? I want to hear you tell stories; you haven’t told me a story in a long time," Timmy said, acting spoiled and grabbing her sleeve.

"No, it’s too late today, go back to sleep quickly," the woman replied firmly.

"Mommy, don’t you love me anymore?" Timmy raised his little face. "You never used to refuse me. When I wanted to hear a story, you would definitely tell me. What’s wrong with you today? You seem so strange."

The woman’s face changed slightly. "That’s not it, Timmy. Today, I’m... I’m not feeling well, my stomach hurts a bit. You know I just came back, haven’t rested well for two days, so I want to rest."

"Your stomach hurts? There’s medicine in the villa. Do you want to take some?"

"No, no, I’ll just rest for a while, go back first."

"Alright then," Timmy looked at her somewhat doubtfully, always feeling that Melody Thorne was odd. "Melody, you haven’t said you love me. I’m your little baby, you always said this!"

Timmy almost gagged; Melody Thorne never spoke in such an exaggerated way, and she never used to say that.

"Dad, Melody just came back. I feel she’s really acting strange; she just said some weird things to me," Timmy said, confused, sitting on his little bed.

"She’s back?" Jared Quinn’s large hand holding the phone tightened. No message had come from Congressman Gu about letting Melody Thorne return!

"She did come back, but I feel she’s not right. She feels so unfamiliar, and I asked her to tell me a story but she wouldn’t. She even said her stomach hurts. I feel she’s so different, Dad, I think she might be like those face-changers you once showed me before!"
