Chapter 1025 - 1028: Madam, You’re Back?

"It’s too dangerous over there, wait for me here. I’ll be back soon," the man turned and quickly disappeared ahead, as swift as the wind.

He was still far inferior to Jared Quinn because no matter how important the matter was, Jared would walk steadily and would never leave her alone here, nor would he get anxious because of Timmy.

Whoever it was, he alone could solve it, there’s no way he’d come here to drag her along.

However, she’s quite intrigued by his disguise technique, how did he manage to look so alike?

Just as the man disappeared, Councilman Gu’s people arrived immediately, "Miss Thorne, please come back with us."

"Councilman Gu, I’m quite surprised all of you disappeared like this in the middle of the night, that’s not good, is it?" Melody Thorne crossed her arms, "If I were kidnapped, it wouldn’t be good for you either, right?"

"It was our negligence, we ask for Miss Thorne’s forgiveness and to come back with us," said Councilman Gu, making a gesture of invitation.

Melody Thorne looked at him with an elusive gaze, deciding to play the drama through to the end, "Councilman Gu, I’ve been staying at your place these past two days, nothing has happened to the Quinn Family, right? How come I dreamt that Timmy was missing?"

"Miss Thorne, the young master hasn’t gone missing, rest assured and stay here,"

"How many more days do I need to stay?" Melody Thorne squinted her eyes, "Councilman Gu, I don’t need to remind you over and over again, I’m not a criminal, am I? So I’ll give you one more day, I must leave here."

She strode away in the direction she came from,

"Councilman, do you believe what she just said?" A soldier stood behind him, the same person who had just led Melody Thorne out, the skin of his face was now peeled off, with the scent of glue still lingering.

"She has no reason to lie to Jared Quinn. If she did lie, it means she has seen through you," Councilman Gu spun a gun in his hand, "Go and interrogate the Hawthorne Family thoroughly, make sure they spill the truth."

"Yes."

Melody Thorne returned to the room where Ona was still asleep; she kicked him, "Ona, wake up, wake up."

"What’s up, Master?" Ona sat up from the floor.

"You’re still sleeping; just now, while you were asleep, a man looking exactly like Jared Quinn took me out, luckily I saw through him."

"What? They dare to do that?"

"Keep your voice down, when the day breaks, you go to the Quinn Family to check out. Someone is impersonating Jared Quinn so well, I’m a bit worried; will they hold me here and have me impersonate myself back? Would Jared Quinn be insusceptible to that?"

"Master, I can’t leave; I must ensure your safety; you can rest assured about Young Master Quinn, just think, their disguise technique that even you can see through, let alone Young Master Quinn."

"Really?" Melody Thorne was still somewhat worried.

"Alright, alright, Master, don’t worry, get some sleep; I won’t sleep this time," Ona patted his face.

"No need, you sleep too," Melody Thorne said, "They probably won’t act again tonight, I’ll tell them tomorrow, I want to go back."

"Alright."

Quinn Family, Melody Thorne’s suspicions were correct.

She went to Councilman Gu’s place, while Jared Quinn stayed at Harold Chapman’s, discussing matters, not returning these past two days.

Yet, Melody Thorne has come back.

"Madam, how did you get back? In the middle of the night, should I have Young Master Quinn return now?" The butler yawned.
