Chapter 1568 - 1566: Sphere

Chapter 1568: Chapter 1566: Sphere

There are too many unknown factors in the water, so Yang Chen advised everyone to stay away from the water source.

No matter when, the unknown is what is fearful.

Because it was impossible to probe the water, they had no idea what dangers might lurk there.

After Yang Chen’s reminder, everyone’s eyes began to shift to their surroundings.

All around were rugged rocks, each like a terrifying monster, baring its teeth and claws, seemingly ready to pounce at any moment and devour someone.

Among them were traces of the battle Yang Chen and his team had previously fought, with signs of explosions and fractured stone pillars, showcasing the fierceness of the battle at that time.

Seeing this scene, everyone started to wonder, imagining what kind of situation they had encountered to cause such a tragic scene.

Yang Chen drew his twin blades and walked ahead cautiously.

Yang Cao closely followed Yang Chen, remaining alert and ready to act at any moment. His task was to safeguard Yang Chen.

The belief that had persisted among the members of Asura Hall was Yang Chen, to protect him, and if danger arose, they were prepared to risk their lives to ensure his safety.

The rest of the team held their weapons, aiming around them, ready to fight at any moment.

They protected the research workers and the female team doctor very well.

Passing through the rugged stones, they reached a spacious burial ground.

Two sarcophagi had already been blasted open completely.

Stones and pieces of golden phoebe wood shattered across the ground.

Seeing this, Yang Chen furrowed his brows in deep thought.

He looked at Yang Cao and whispered, "When we left before, wasn’t it intact?"

Yang Cao also gripped his knife tightly and said in a deep voice, "That’s right, the sarcophagi were intact at the time. Seeing them blasted open like this, it seems an intense battle must have occurred here."

Yang Chen nodded.

He was sure, but confirmed it with Yang Cao once more.

Now the level of danger had quickly escalated.

Yang Chen had to tell everyone, "Stay sharp, be on your utmost guard, we must not slack off, be careful!"

"Yes!" everyone replied promptly.

They dared not be careless.

Yang Chen led them onward, continuing the exploration.

Yet, there were no signs of movement around. They checked the surroundings thoroughly but found nothing.

After the inspection, Yang Chen’s brows furrowed even more intensely.

Nothing!

What on earth could have caused it?

Yang Chen was puzzled and lost in thought.

Once they verified it was safe, Yang Chen issued an order to Yang Cao, "Commence the research here!"

"Yes!" Yang Cao immediately instructed the three researchers, "Start the research on-site right away. Inspect the surroundings, gather materials, and quickly understand the situation here!"

"Yes!"

The three of them responded and immediately set down their backpacks, took out experimental equipment, and began assembling.

Yang Chen and four others stood guard nearby, ensuring their safety.

The three researchers, together with Yang Cao, started collecting surface soil, moss, rocks, pieces of golden phoebe, and sarcophagus fragments.

Everything was their test subject because they needed to understand the ecosystem below the cliff as a basis for studying other things.

Yang Chen granted them one hour for research.

An hour later, they packed up their things and prepared to leave.

As they were about to leave, Yang Chen halted, looking at something floating by the edge of the pool.

"Look at that!" Yang Chen pointed at a black spherical object.

Yang Cao raised his flashlight and pointed it over, noticing the object.

"This thing... seems like..." Yang Cao hesitated, unsure about what it was.

Yang Chen quickly walked over and glanced at it.

The black sphere was charred, as if it had been burned.

This reminded him of something tangled by vines back then, eventually burned and rolled into the water.

Could this be the thing from back then?

Where is the person inside?

Thinking of this, Yang Chen immediately said, "Get that thing out! I want to see what’s inside!"

Yang Cao nodded, immediately pulling out a rope, preparing to retrieve the object.

Since they couldn’t go into the water, which was too dangerous, Yang Cao thought of a way to loop the object and pull it out.

After much effort, Yang Cao managed to loop the object, slowly pulling it out.

When the object was pulled to the shore, Yang Cao immediately had two people put on protective gloves to pull the object out.

They pulled the object onto the shore.

Yang Chen walked over and shone the light inside, seeing it was already empty.

"It’s gone inside!" Yang Chen frowned deeper, "Where did it go?"

Yang Chen turned his gaze towards the pool.

Could it have fallen in?

While Yang Chen pondered, Yang Cao was already scraping some material from the sphere for research.

He seemed to have thought of something, and quickly had the material scraped earlier from the vine hole brought out for comparison.

After comparing, Yang Cao discovered that the two materials were identical.

Yang Cao immediately reported this finding to Yang Chen, "Boss, look at these two materials, they’re exactly the same!"

Yang Chen also took a look and found it was indeed the same.

He raised his head to look above, thinking of the circular contours of the hole above.

He immediately asked, "What’s the diameter of the hole above?"

"Three meters five!" Yang Cao answered promptly.

He had previously measured it.

Three meters five?

Yang Chen immediately said, "Measure the diameter of this object!"

Even without measuring, Yang Chen could tell by eye that the diameter should be around three meters five.

But science needs to be rigorous and cannot rely on guesswork.

Yang Cao immediately began measuring.

The result of the measurement was three meters five!

"Three meters five!" Yang Chen fell into deep thought.

The same diameter, the remnants on the object’s surface also matched.

If that’s the case, it’s hard not to suspect that the holes above were blasted by this object.

But, how did this object fly so high?

If Yang Chen remembered correctly, this object was initially formed by parasitic vines entangling it.

How did it become so destructive to the parasitic vines?

Yang Chen was puzzled.

Many things can’t be solved through mere speculation.

"Yang Cao, take some samples and conduct research when we get back," Yang Chen instructed.

"Yes!" Yang Cao began cutting some samples from the object to take back for research.

After completing these tasks, Yang Chen led everyone back.

The journey was mostly uneventful, and they returned to the top of the cliff smoothly.

Throughout the journey, Yang Chen remained silent.

His mind was full of the scenes from before, because there were two people among the vines.

One of them was the ancestor of the Xiang family!

Now the people inside have disappeared, where exactly have they gone?

Or, have they sunk to the bottom of the pool?

The current underwater situation is unclear, they can only send people to explore again.
