In his current Chaotic Dragon Transformation, only pure, overwhelming dragonic aura remained. Not a single hint of demonic energy could be sensed anymore.

This only deepened the confusion of everyone present. It was as if he had never been a demon to begin with... and had always been a true dragon all along.

One thing continued to trouble Kharos.

How in the world had his daughter found such an anomaly and grown so close to him? The last he knew, Nyxara had been training on the Fourth Level of the Abyss.

Had she met him there? How had this man even entered that place in the first place? And more importantly... how had he managed to tame his hot-tempered daughter to this extent? Where had he taken her?

For now, Kharos decided to do nothing. He first wanted to see what else Nova was capable of.

"I don’t know how you managed to take on a dragon form," Zero roared as he flew toward the massive black dragon, "and it doesn’t matter if your body is bigger than mine! I’ll still kill you today, you bastard!"

"Is that so?" Nova muttered as he rose even higher into the sky. The pressure of his presence was immense. The entire continent was watching the might of a true dragon.

"Is that guy crazy or something?" Draeven said. "Can’t he feel that the dragonic aura of this Slaughter Monarch is stronger than his own?"

He thought Zero was being foolish for even considering a fight against Nova. Still, he wanted to see whether Nova was truly as strong as the aura suggested... or if he was only borrowing the presence of an Elder Dragon.

"Take this, you bastard!"

Zero opened his massive jaws and began channeling his dragon breath.

Nova watched calmly. There was no turning back now. This was his final move to fully display the extent of his power. Even so, he knew he still could not contend with a true Sovereign’s strength in this form alone.

His Chaotic Dragonic-Demon Transformation remained locked — he had not yet reached the Emperor Realm. Right now, this was all he could rely on... and it would also be the first time he used it.

{Are you sure about this?}

Liya’s concerned voice rang in his mind. Nova answered inwardly that there was no point hesitating now. After leveling up so dramatically, his strength had grown tremendously. It should be fine.

BOOOOM!

Suddenly, an even more intense and dreadful aura erupted from Nova’s colossal body as he activated his Demonic Dominion Aura.

At the same time, he opened his massive jaws and began channeling his own dragon breath.

"What?!"

"What is that aura?!"

Even Caelan felt chills run down his spine. The others present felt the same. Kharos was having a particularly hard time believing what he was sensing — this aura was even more intense than the mixed aura of Demon Lord Raze that he had felt in the past.

Aurora’s soul trembled as she suddenly received a message from somewhere. Her expression changed instantly.

"Everyone, make your distance right now!!"

The entire battlefield was shocked. They had never heard Aurora sound so panicked before. As a Sovereign herself, she would never issue such a warning unless it was absolutely necessary.

Everyone also knew she possessed a special connection with the World Tree, so none of them doubted her words.

Vaorak, Draeven, and the other powerhouses immediately used their powers to create greater distance. The rest of the human army was already far away, barely able to withstand Nova’s Demonic Dominion Aura.

Even more terrifying was the pressure of the dragon breath he was currently channeling. Zeon also retreated with his remaining subordinates.

Except for Kharos and Caelan, everyone moved as far as they possibly could. Zero’s dragon breath — a dense, dancing orange flame — was ready.

"Feel my breath, you bastard!!"

He unleashed the torrent of fire straight toward Nova.

Nova’s own breath was also complete. It looked pitch black, yet radiated a deep violet light and surged with pure chaotic energy.

Ding!

[Warning!!]

[Warning!!]

[You are strongly advised not to use this flame at your current level!!]

{Nova, stop! The backlash will be too great!} Liya’s voice was filled with genuine concern.

Nova did not listen. "Don’t worry," he replied inwardly. "I’m not using it at its full power."

Even so, the system continued issuing warnings. He could have used a normal dragon breath, but he knew it would not create the level of dread he wanted, nor would it be enough to truly harm Zero.

Not unless his strength grew even further.

Intense pain began spreading through his body. Even with his pain resistance, the strain was enormous.

Ding!

[Your Pain Resistance has leveled up!]

[Your Pain Resistance has leveled up!]

[...]

The pain was so severe that his Adaptation Core was forced to work on the spot, rapidly increasing his resistance. Yet Nova did not show even the slightest reaction. He refused to appear weak.

The pressure of his breath continued to grow. The moment Zero’s flames approached, Nova scoffed.

"Is that even worthy of being called a dragon breath? Consider yourself fortunate... for you will be the first to feel my true breath."

"ROOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!"

Nova unleashed a massive tide of black-violet chaotic flame. It surged forward like a living storm with a Mighty roar. The heat it radiated was unlike anything anyone present had ever felt before — not even the Dragon Emperor’s or Demon Lord Raze’s breath had been this intense.

"What kind of flame is this...?" Caelan muttered. Kharos heard him and answered grimly.

"The real question is... what level of flame is that?"

The two dragon breaths collided.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A cataclysmic force and aura erupted from the point of impact. The massive formation covering the capital began to crack under the residual power.

Caelan moved instantly and reinforced the formation with his own strength. Had he been even a moment slower, the citizens below would have been reduced to scorched paste.

After the initial collision, Nova’s chaotic breath began overpowering Zero’s flames. Under normal circumstances, this should have been impossible — a Sovereign-level dragon’s breath should never lose so easily.

But Nova was not using an ordinary breath. He had infused it with special flames.

"What?!"

Zero’s eyes widened in pure disbelief as his own breath was pushed back. The strange, extremely dreadful black-violet flames continued advancing toward him. His instincts screamed danger, and he immediately tried to flee.

But Nova’s breath moved with terrifying speed. It completely destroyed Zero’s flames and locked onto its prey as if it possessed a will of its own.

"ROOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!"

Zero roared in agony and horror as his thick scales and skin began to burn.

"ROOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!"

He continued roaring again and again in unbearable pain as he desperately tried to heal himself and extinguish the flames. Yet his body continued to burn at an alarming rate.

He instantly canceled his transformation, returning to human form — but even then, the chaotic fire refused to die.

"SUPREME COMMANDER !! SAVE MEEEE!!!"

" ARHGHHHHAAAAAA"

Zero’s agonized scream echoed across the sky as his body convulsed violently.

The entire continent watched in horror as a mighty Sovereign-level dragon was reduced to such a wretched state by a monstrosity never before seen.

Nova’s massive purple slit eyes observed everything with cold indifference.

Zeon immediately moved toward Zero. Yet the moment he got close, he felt it clearly — if he touched those flames, even he would not be safe.

Zero continued screaming in agony as his physical body was completely burned away. In the end, only his soul remained.

"What...?!"

Shock rippled through everyone once more. The black-violet flames did not die down. They continued to burn even the soul of Zero — though the process was noticeably slower than when they had consumed his body.
