My SSS-Rank Grim Reaper System

Chapter 281: WHAT F7 SHOWS

  • Next Chapter

The angel materialized thirty?two constructs.

Not the standard formation — something different. Eight blocking the direct front. Eight on the left diagonal. Eight on the right diagonal. Eight from above, at a descending angle.

F7 read the structure in the second before they arrived.

Not thirty?two independent vectors. A cage. The angel wasn’t attacking — it was closing the space, forcing Alex to stop or receive the full impact from four simultaneous angles.

Alex didn’t stop.

The crimson scythe swept the front and the left diagonal in a continuous arc — sixteen cut in two seconds. The violet scythe rose to the descending angle, cutting the eight from above before impact. The eight from the right diagonal reached the body — to the left side, to the shoulder, to the arm.

HP: 0. The number didn’t change.

Alex kept advancing.

Five meters from the angel. Four.

---

The angel stepped back.

Three quick meters — not calculated, reflexes. The first reflex movement the angel had made in the entire fight.

Alex saw it.

**"That was different,"** said Grim.

**"I know."**

The angel stopped at seven meters. Wings in the recalculating position it had maintained since the thirteenth cut. But something had changed in the posture — a minimal adjustment, the shoulders a centimeter lower, the wings a degree more closed.

**"What is it doing?"** said Alex.

**"Preparing something it hasn’t used yet,"** said Grim.

---

F7 activated the full channel.

Not in response to a question — without Alex asking. The seventh Fragment opening cycle 42’s memory completely, in real time, while the fight was still active.

Not as image. As direct information delivered to the channel while Alex kept advancing.

The original Harvester in cycle 42. The same angel — the same Gods’ envoy, the same signature Grim recognized. The same fight in its structure: the original Harvester with the frenzy active, the angel yielding ground without falling, the angel’s channel with accumulated friction.

And then cycle 42’s angel doing exactly what the current angel was doing — stopping. Recalculating. Preparing something it hadn’t used yet.

**"F7,"** said Alex. **"What did it do in cycle 42?"**

The answer arrived without delay.

---

The original Harvester hadn’t waited to see what it was.

It had changed the objective.

When cycle 42’s angel stopped to recalculate — when it prepared something new — the original Harvester hadn’t kept advancing toward the angel. It had turned toward the constructs the angel had already materialized and that still floated in the Threshold’s space without direction — the remnants of the previous exchanges, the constructs F1 had cut but that the angel hadn’t dissolved because dissolving cost channel authorization.

Eighty?four directionless constructs in the Threshold’s space.

The original Harvester had destroyed all of them in forty seconds.

Not to eliminate them as a threat — they were directionless, they weren’t dangerous. To empty the angel’s channel while the angel was divided between preparing something new and sustaining what it had already materialized.

Cycle 42’s angel’s channel had collapsed for four seconds.

Four seconds in which the angel couldn’t receive authorization from the Gods’ plane.

And in those four seconds the original Harvester had reached contact range with the angel’s body and had done something the Gods hadn’t expected it could do.

---

Alex looked at the Threshold’s space.

The angel’s directionless constructs floating between them — the remnants of the last four exchanges, white?light forms the angel hadn’t dissolved. He counted them in one second.

Seventy?one.

**"Seventy?one,"** said Alex.

**"I see them,"** said Grim.

Alex turned.

---

Not toward the angel. Toward the directionless constructs.

The angel saw him turn and materialized eight directed constructs — the reflex response, the attack toward where Alex was.

Alex wasn’t where he had been a second earlier.

F4 had positioned him three steps left, toward the first group of directionless constructs. The crimson scythe swept the complete group — sixteen constructs destroyed in one arc. The violet scythe to the next group — twelve more.

The angel materialized sixteen directed constructs.

Alex cut eight in the return arc and kept moving toward the next directionless group.

Forty?three remaining.

The angel stopped materializing new constructs — F7 registered it. The angel’s channel choosing not to materialize more while it processed the accumulated destructions. Thirty seconds of pause in materialization was enough time for the channel to recover some capacity.

But if Alex destroyed the seventy?one directionless constructs before the angel finished preparing what it was preparing, the channel wouldn’t have time to recover anything.

Alex accelerated.

---

The crimson scythe in continuous motion — not individual arcs, a sustained sweep. The black edge of the plane between life and death destroying every directionless construct it found. Twenty. Thirty. The violet scythe of F4 clearing the lateral groups the crimson’s arc didn’t reach.

The angel resumed materialization — eight directed constructs, sent toward Alex.

Alex cut them without stopping and continued with the directionless ones.

Forty?seven destroyed.

Fifty?two.

Sixty.

---

The angel changed.

It didn’t materialize new constructs — it activated the wings to maximum. The posture it had prepared while recalculating. The wings opening to the full twelve?meter wingspan, the Gods’ plane responding to the entire Silent Threshold, the earth hardening, the Gods’?plane wind beginning to form in the space between the angel and Alex.

Not trunks this time. Something more concentrated — the Gods’?plane wind as a single projectile, a column of direct authorization aiming at Alex.

F7 read the formation 1.4 seconds before the launch.

And F7 delivered the information at the same time: *in cycle 42, the original Harvester received this same column. It didn’t dodge it. It used it.*

**"How did it use it?"** said Alex.

The answer arrived while the wind column was already on its way.

---

Alex planted his feet.

He didn’t dodge. He crossed the two scythes in front of his body — not in defensive position, in cutting position. The crimson scythe aimed at the column’s center. The violet scythe at a lateral deflection angle.

The column of direct Gods’?plane authorization impacted against F1’s black edge.

The black edge didn’t deflect the column. It cut it — the plane between life and death separating the Gods’ direct authorization into two halves that passed on either side of Alex and struck the Threshold’s ground twenty meters beyond, opening two craters a meter deep.

HP: 0. The number didn’t change. The rebound impact of the column being cut had reached the torso.

But Alex was still standing.

And the seventy?one directionless constructs: destroyed.

---

The angel materialized nothing.

The channel — F7 read it in real time — without immediate response capacity. The cost of the column plus the accumulated cost of the seventy?one constructs destroyed in the last ninety seconds had emptied transmission capacity.

Four seconds. Five.

The angel without constructs. Without column. Without active authorization in the Threshold’s space between the two.

Alex advanced the seven meters separating them in four steps.

The crimson scythe to the angel’s left side — the fourteenth cut, in the zone where Seraph’s seventh cut still showed the edge of tissue not completely closed.

The impossible?colored blood.

And the violet scythe to the left wing — the one without structural damage yet. F4’s edge entering the root at the same angle it had used on the right wing.

The fifteenth cut.

Both wings with structural damage now.

---

The angel separated ten meters.

Not six. Not eight. Ten — the greatest separation of the entire fight. Wings partially folded, the left wing now at the same reduced angle as the right. The eyes processing.

The angel’s channel recovering capacity slowly — F7 monitored it. Eight seconds to recover the minimum necessary to materialize basic constructs.

The angel looked at Alex.

Alex looked back.

Fifteen cuts. Both wings with structural damage. The channel emptied and recovering. A bearer with HP at zero who had cut the Gods’?plane direct authorization column with F1’s black edge.

The angel materialized nothing.

It didn’t advance.

It didn’t retreat.

Calculating — and for the first time in the fight, without a prepared response to what it had just seen.
