Chapter 161: Jenny’s Pride Is Hurt

"Hmph. Jenny wants to drink her coffee first," Jenny countered from behind him, crossing her arms defensively over her chest.

She lifted her chin, deliberately copying Rose’s peculiar third-person cadence purely out of petty spite.

She braced herself, waiting for the demonic woman to snap, unleash her aura, or demand priority.

"Sure. Rose can wait."

However, the answer arrived smoothly, accompanied by a relaxed, elegant tilt of the demon’s head.

Contrary to every expectation Jenny harbored, Rose didn’t push back, throw a tantrum, or reach for her lethal claws.

She simply smiled with supreme composure, willingly stepping back to grant Jenny her petty victory on a silver platter.

Jenny’s lips parted in utter disbelief. She blinked aggressively, her brain stalling out at the sudden lack of friction.

The calculated sequence of events she had mapped out in her mind was instantly derailed.

She had secretly anticipated a heated spat—one where Fredrinn would be forced to play mediator, opening the door for her to guilt-trip him for favoring his demon wife, or at the very least score a hard-fought concession.

Instead, by conceding without a shred of jealousy, Rose made Jenny look like a petulant child throwing a tantrum over some coffee while Rose will play the long game.

Before the bitter blonde could spiral down an obsessive rabbit hole of overthinking, Fredrinn stepped forward, taking the initiative.

A gentle, amused smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he bridged the distance between them. Jenny felt her chest seize.

The sudden proximity of his broad, muscled frame made her cheeks burn all over again, locking her in a dazed, flustered trance.

She made a desperate, silent oath to keep her line of sight glued strictly to his broad shoulders, collarbones, and jawline.

Whatever happened, she told herself, she absolutely could not look down.

Yet human psychology had a cruel sense of humor.

The harder a person tries to forbid their mind from taking notice of something, the more magnetic that very forbidden thing becomes.

Despite her best efforts to focus on his eyes, Jenny’s gaze rebelled, traitorously dipping downward in a split-second glance.

And in that fleeting glance, she saw it.

Fredrinn stood completely naked before her, his member standing at full, rock-hard attention.

Thick veins crisscrossed the heavy shaft like a spiderweb, pulsing faintly with a faint, otherworldly blue luminescence. It stood proud, rigid, and monstrously thick—an imposing sight that looked carved from tempered stone.

The image seared itself into Jenny’s retinas, and with it came an icy wave of stark recollection.

She vividly remembered taking him into her mouth back when they were alone inside the car.

She remembered the heat, the texture, and the exact dimensions that had stretched her lips and made her jaw ache for hours afterward.

And although he was big when she did so, now... It was much bigger, much more dangerous. Like it was finally in it’s final form.

In her modern, rational human mind, the idea that a grown man’s dick could magically expand in size overnight was an utter impossibility.

No workout, no supplement, and no drug in the world could produce such an absurd physical transformation in less than twenty-four hours.

If it was possible, the entire world would’ve been running around for it, paying exorbitant prices.

To Jenny, there was only one logical explanation left—and it was an absolute sledgehammer to her pride.

’Did I... not turn him on enough? Is this why he wants several girls in his harem?’

The horrifying, suffocating thought took root in her chest, sprouting thorns that gripped her heart.

’When I was on my knees for him, swallowing his cock and aching until my throat burned... he wasn’t even fully aroused? He was just... holding back because I couldn’t do it for him?’

The crimson flush on her cheeks drained away, leaving her skin an ashen, sickly pale. A cold sting settled behind her eyelids, and faint moisture welled in the corners of her hazel eyes.

She knew Rose was an otherworldly beauty. In that tight, fluttering crimson dress, the demon carried herself with an exotic, untouchable sensuality that no human could easily emulate.

But Jenny had always held onto her own fierce, quiet pride. She knew she was gorgeous. She knew men had fawned over her throughout her entire adult life.

To suddenly realize she might have failed completely to ignite the desire of the only man she currently craved shattered her sense of worth.

While she stood trapped in that spiral of quiet misery, a warm, rough palm gently pressed against the curve of her cheek.

Startled, Jenny lifted her heavy gaze. Her eyes glistened beneath the soft lighting of the suite, crystalline droplets trembling along her lower lashes.

"Huh? What’s wrong, Jenny?" Fredrinn asked, his easygoing smirk vanishing in an instant.

He was caught entirely off guard. The tears pooling in her eyes carried none of the flushed, overwhelmed haze of pleasure or playful shyness.

The look on her face was one of genuine, quiet heartbreak. She looked wounded.

He didn’t have the slightest clue what had brought on such a sudden shift, but he had zero intention of brushing past it.

Lowering his stance slightly, Fredrinn softly stroked the pad of his thumb across her cheekbone, offering steady, patient comfort.

"Nothing happened," Jenny choked out, snapping out of her momentary daze.

Horror washed over her as she realized how bare her vulnerabilities were laid out before him—and worse, in front of his other women.

Snapping her emotional guard back up, she reached out with trembling fingers, peeling his hand from her cheek and gently pushing his arm back toward his side.

"I just... I realized I shouldn’t be disturbing the two of you right now," she managed, her voice shaking slightly as she forced out the bitter words. "Go ahead and continue. Don’t worry about me."

Every syllable tasted like bile on her tongue, threatening to choke her as she spoke, but she forced the sentence through her teeth.

Pulling away from his warmth hurt, but her tangled, humiliated emotions made staying close unbearable.

Nearby, Rose observed the little breakdown with cold, utter indifference.

As a succubus, she sensed the turbulent storm of inadequacy and self-pity churning inside Jenny’s aura with pinpoint clarity, but she felt no sympathy. To the demon, Jenny’s retreat was merely an obstacle clearing itself from the field.

Sensing an open path, Rose stepped forward, closing the distance to Fredrinn’s back. She leaned in close, pressing her soft curves against him as she breathed into the shell of his ear like a tempting devil.

"Let’s continue~ Hubby~ She already agreed," she purred, her melodic whisper thick with sultry promise.

Yet, Fredrinn didn’t succumb to the intoxicating hum of her charm.

He reached back blindly, his hand finding the crown of Rose’s head. He ruffled her soft hair with an affectionate pat, offering a calm, reassuring smile over his shoulder.

"We’ll get back to it in just a moment, sweetheart," he told her gently. "First, let me check on Jenny."

Setting the cup aside, Fredrinn turned his full, undivided attention back to the distraught blonde. He stepped squarely into her space, his expression laced with genuine concern.

"Jenny, talk to me. What’s going on?" he asked softly, searching her glistening eyes. "Did I do something wrong? Whatever it is, just tell me."
