Chapter 160: All’s Fair In Love And War

"No, you two! Wait up! Stop right there!" Jenny’s voice rang out, high and desperate, as she threw both hands forward like a referee frantically trying to separate two fighters in a ring.

Her eyes were squeezed shut, her head turned to the side to avoid looking at the brazen, naked temptation standing merely a foot away.

After enduring half an hour of Andrea’s breathless whimpers from the bed, listening to Fredrinn and Rose trade breathless sweet nothings was simply the final straw.

Jenny had reacted on pure, panicked reflex. She couldn’t stomach the thought of watching her own so-called ’boyfriend’ engage in another round of raunchy public displays of affection right before her eyes.

Fredrinn’s fingers froze against the smooth, slender curve of Rose’s waist. He paused, turning his head to glance at Jenny with an arched brow.

Rose, too, shifted her attention toward the blonde beauty. Rather than looking infuriated by the sudden interruption, the demon girl’s face was painted with an unsettling mix of childish curiosity and subtle amusement.

As a succubus, Rose possessed an innate ability to perceive raw human emotions, especially those rooted in negative or primal impulses.

Right now, Jenny’s emotional spectrum was practically blinding: waves of overwhelming lust, burning jealousy, and suffocating embarrassment radiating off her in thick waves.

Fredrinn, on the other hand, was just a walking furnace of perpetual desire—a constant hum that Rose found utterly delightful.

When Jenny finally gathered the courage to open her eyes, she realized her mistake.

Both of them were staring straight at her with rapt, undivided attention.

It was the worst possible scenario.

The heavy crimson blush she had fought so desperately to suppress rushed back with a vengeance, staining her cheeks, her neck, and the delicate tips of her ears.

To make matters worse, she was completely cornered.

The kitchen counter was firmly at her back, Rose stood squarely to her front, and a bare, muscular Fredrinn was looming to her right. There was nowhere to run.

"What’s wrong, Jenny?" Fredrinn asked, his voice dripping with gentle concern as he gave her a tender, patronizing smile.

Jenny’s eye twitched violently. She despised that specific look.

With Andrea and Rose, he was all predatory smirks, unbridled lust, and heavy hands.

Yet whenever he looked at her right now, he acted like an older brother trying to comfort a pouting child!

Why was she the only one getting treated with soft kid gloves when she was aching to be claimed just like the others?

Jenny clenched her fists at her sides, her knuckles turning white as she fought the urge to explode.

But she knew better than to open her mouth and yell; in her current flustered state, any shout would inevitably betray her, cracking into an embarrassing, high-pitched squeak.

So, she kept her jaw locked, giving him a flat, deadpan stare—though the blazing redness spreading across her features completely ruined the intimidating facade.

"Oh, I get it. You want your coffee back, don’t you?" Fredrinn guessed playfully, letting out a soft chuckle.

He knew damn well that wasn’t the issue, but winding her up was too entertaining to pass up.

"Yes," Jenny blurted out quickly, eagerly seizing the convenient lifeline he dangled before her.

However, her true goal had not yet been achieved. She had successfully halted their momentum, but now a brazen, rebellious impulse seized her.

Jenny cleared her throat, trying to regain a sliver of composure, though her gaze stayed fixed on his chest to avoid his eyes.

"B-But... when I drank it, it tasted horribly bitter," she murmured softly, her voice dropping into a timid, hesitant register. She glanced up through her lashes, meeting his eyes with an expression of manufactured innocence. "Rose just said it tasted sweet. So... maybe I wasn’t drinking it the right way, you know?"

The implication was as loud as a thunderclap.

She might not possess the shameless, predatory confidence of an ancient demon, but Jenny was a twenty-one-year-old modern woman.

When push came to shove, she knew precisely how to deploy her feminine charms.

She tilted her chin down, widening her hazel eyes into a pair of soft, pleading puppy-dog orbs designed to melt a man’s resolve into a puddle.

Fredrinn stared at her, feeling his chest tighten.

’I swear to god, if anyone saw me right now, they’d call me a hopeless simp,’ he thought, struggling to suppress a chuckle. ’But then again, only a retard would say no when she looks like that.’

He was more than ready to play along. He raised the cup toward his lips, preparing to give Jenny the exact same intimate treatment Rose had just enjoyed.

"Tsk."

A sharp click of Rose’s tongue cut through the thick tension.

The demon girl crossed her arms beneath her perky bust, her crimson eyes narrowing into slits.

"Rose is displeased," she grumbled, pouting as she tugged at Fredrinn’s arm. "Hubby’s other girls are shameless thieves. They copy Rose’s ideas because they have none of their own."

Jenny didn’t let the insult rattle her. In fact, seeing the otherworldly creature visibly irritated gave her a sudden rush of triumphant boldness.

"All’s fair in love and war," Jenny replied with an airy, defiant shrug.

Rose turned her head slowly, fixing Jenny with an icy, lifeless glare. "I see... Then war it is."

The temperature in the small suite seemed to plummet by ten degrees.

Rose’s hearty pink irises began to churn with a malevolent, pulsating light, mana coalescing silently at her fingertips as the air grew heavy with demonic pressure.

Fredrinn’s internal alarms screamed. He instantly stepped into the narrow gap between them, throwing his arms out to create a physical barrier.

"Rose, no fighting, please, my love?" he urged soothingly, offering her his most affectionate, placating smile before quickly tossing a desperate, pleading look over his shoulder at Jenny. "And Jenny, please, baby, don’t provoke her. We’re all on the same team here."

If there was one thing he learnt, it was to not make women mad when they are genuinely pissed off.

It won’t end well.

Rose stared at Fredrinn’s face for a long beat.

The terrifying murderous intent vanished as quickly as it had arrived, the dark glow in her eyes fading back into a gentle pink sheen.

"Hmm... Fine," Rose huffed softly, turning her nose into the air with aristocratic disdain. "Rose will let it go, but only if we continue where we left off."

"Hmph. Jenny wants to drink her coffee first," Jenny countered from behind him, crossing her arms defensively.
