Chapter 163: Rules Might III

Kaiser charged toward the Sin of the Forest.

As he got closer, he could feel the Rules flowing through his body.

The sensation was completely different from anything he had experienced before.

The Supreme Rule of Amalgamation allowed him to clearly sense the different forms of energy around him. He could feel the corrupted energy surrounding the Sin of the Forest, the spiritual power of his undead, the natural energy of the forest, and even the energy contained within his own attacks.

Everything seemed connected.

Kaiser tightened his grip on his greatsword.

’I’ve never felt this powerful before.’

He swung the sword with all his strength.

Boom!

The greatsword struck the massive body of the Sin of the Forest.

Kaiser had expected the difference between their ranks to make his attack almost useless.

After all, the Sin of the Forest was still a terrifying existence with a Greater Rule.

But the moment his sword touched the monster’s body, Kaiser realized how wrong he had been.

Slash!

His greatsword sliced through several thick roots covering the monster’s body.

Dark green blood sprayed from the wound as a deep gash appeared across its enormous body.

The Sin of the Forest roared in pain and quickly swung one of its massive limbs toward Kaiser.

Kaiser pulled the reins of his undead horse and moved backward.

Boom!

The ground where he had been standing was crushed by the monster’s attack.

Kaiser immediately charged forward again.

’I guess the rumours involving all Rules were really true’

He raised his sword and poured several different powers into it.

His Death Energy mixed with the Corpse Lord’s power, while the Supreme Rule of Amalgamation began connecting the different energies together.

The dark energy around the blade became much denser.

Kaiser swung again.

Slash!

Another huge wound appeared on the Sin of the Forest’s body.

This time, the attack cut through several layers of roots, hardened resin, and pieces of dead animal bones that had become fused into its body.

Kaiser looked at the wound with surprise.

’The difference in rank is still there, but the Rule is allowing me to bypass some of its defenses.’

The Sin of the Forest became even more enraged.

Its gigantic body was a grotesque mixture of plants and dead creatures. Thick roots formed its muscles, ancient tree bark covered parts of its body, and countless dead animals were embedded between the roots and layers of hardened resin.

Several large roots suddenly shot toward Kaiser.

He immediately moved his greatsword.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

The roots were cut apart before they could reach him.

At the same time, several more roots attacked from behind.

Kaiser sensed them through the Rule of Amalgamation.

His body moved almost instinctively.

He leaned to the side, avoiding the attack, before swinging his sword backward.

Boom!

The incoming root was cut apart.

Kaiser couldn’t help but smile.

’This Rule is incredibly useful.’

He suddenly heard a loud roar from the other side of the battlefield.

Alex had joined the fight.

The Emerald Jade Knight Emperor stood on his mount as countless green vines and plants erupted from the ground around him.

His Supreme-Grade inheritance and SS-Rank Jade Life Ruler Talent allowed him to control the surrounding plant life with incredible precision.

Alex raised his Mythic-grade war sickle.

"Rise."

The ground shook.

Countless emerald plants suddenly emerged from the earth.

Some grew into enormous trees, while others transformed into thick vines covered in sharp thorns.

Several huge flowers opened at the same time, releasing streams of green energy.

Alex swung his war sickle.

"Attack!"

The plants immediately rushed toward the Sin of the Forest.

Dozens of enormous vines wrapped around its legs while thick roots pierced into the ground around it.

Several giant flowers released concentrated beams of emerald energy.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The attacks struck the Sin of the Forest from different directions.

The monster roared as its enormous body was forced backward.

Alex grinned.

"How does it feel to fight someone who can control plants too?"

The Sin of the Forest violently released its corrupted energy.

A wave of sickly green power spread across the battlefield.

The plants controlled by Alex began withering the moment the corruption touched them.

Alex’s expression became serious.

"Still troublesome."

He immediately poured more energy into his Talent.

Emerald light covered his body.

The dead plants began growing again, and new vines emerged from the ground.

Alex continued controlling them while fighting against the corruption.

Kaiser watched him for a moment before turning his attention back to the Sin of the Forest.

’His new Talent is really versatile.’

He suddenly noticed something through the Supreme Rule of Amalgamation.

The natural energy surrounding Alex’s plants was constantly being corrupted by the Sin of the Forest.

However, that corruption did not spread evenly.

There were certain points where the Greater Rule of Corruption was concentrated.

Kaiser’s eyes narrowed.

’I can sense the structure of its Rule.’

He immediately understood what was happening.

’Those are the places where its corruption is strongest.’

Kaiser pulled his sword back.

Dark energy gathered around his body.

He then focused the Supreme Rule of Amalgamation into his greatsword.

The Rule began connecting the different powers inside his attack.

Death Energy.

Spiritual Energy.

Corpse Lord’s power.

His own physical strength.

All of them began merging together.

The greatsword started vibrating.

Kaiser looked toward one of the concentrated points of corruption on the Sin of the Forest’s body.

"There."

He kicked his undead horse forward.

The Sin of the Forest noticed him and immediately raised one of its massive arms.

Kaiser didn’t slow down.

Just before the attack reached him, he suddenly jumped from his undead horse.

The massive limb smashed into the ground.

Boom!

Kaiser used the impact to launch himself into the air.

His greatsword was raised above his head.

The Rule of Amalgamation surged through his body.

"Break!"

Kaiser brought the sword down.

Slash!

The blade struck directly at the concentrated point of corruption.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then—

Crack!

A strange cracking sound echoed through the battlefield.
