Chapter 124: Fight II

Michael looked across the chamber at the large number of Frost Hobgoblins. Several Frost Shamans were among them, while the boss stood farther back, watching him from the center of the cave.

Michael could feel the power of his newly bonded Frost Dragon flowing through his body. The Frost Dragon had given him powerful ice-manipulation abilities as well as a considerable boost to his physical strength.

Michael activated the ability he got called the Frost Overlord.

His hair immediately turned pure white, with a faint blue glow surrounding his body. At the same time, the Glacial Wyvern King Greatsword in his hand began to shine as an intense frost energy gathered around its blade.

Michael looked at the sword and smiled.

"As expected of an ability given by a Dragon."

He raised the greatsword and calmly pointed it toward the Frost Goblins.

"Frozen Miles."

A powerful wave of frost energy spread from Michael and rapidly covered the entire chamber.

Within seconds, the ground, walls, and ceiling were covered in thick layers of ice. The Frost Goblins, Frost Hobgoblins, and Frost Shamans were all frozen solid before they could even react.

Even their natural resistance to the cold was useless against Michael’s overwhelming ice power. None of them managed to move or launch an attack before being completely frozen.

Michael lowered his sword and looked around the frozen chamber.

"Damn, this is really useful."

He then turned toward the Death Knights.

"Alright, collect everything and bring all the corpses outside. Kaiser told me to bring them out as well."

The Death Knights immediately nodded and began moving through the frozen chamber.

Michael started collecting the loot dropped by the Frost Goblins and Hobgoblins. He also searched the bodies of the stronger monsters and collected anything valuable.

After gathering the loot, he placed everything into his inventory before looking toward the Death Knights.

Several of them were already dragging the frozen corpses toward the cave entrance.

Michael walked over and helped them with the remaining bodies.

"There are quite a lot of them. Kaiser should be happy with this."

The Death Knights continued carrying the corpses outside while Michael checked the chamber one more time to make sure nothing had been left behind.

Once he was certain that everything had been collected, Michael walked toward the cave entrance with the Death Knights following behind him.

Michael finally walked out of the cave with the Death Knights following behind him. Kaiser and Emilia were waiting outside, and both of them looked toward him as he approached.

Kaiser smiled.

"How was it?"

Michael stretched his arms and smiled.

"It was fun. Since I was a rank above them, the whole fight was basically a breeze. We should go deeper into the mountains. I want to fight monsters that are closer to my rank."

Kaiser nodded.

"Then we can look for Frost Trolls. They are mostly Rank 2 monsters."

Michael’s eyes lit up with interest.

"Trolls? Aren’t they the monsters with almost infinite regeneration?"

"Yes," Kaiser replied. "Their regeneration is one of their strongest abilities."

Michael nodded with a smile.

"That sounds like it will be fun."

Emilia frowned slightly as she looked at him.

"But will it really be okay?"

Before Michael could answer, Kaiser spoke.

"It’ll be fine. Don’t worry. Dad has more than ten thousand extra lives, after all."

He snapped his fingers.

The frozen corpses of the Frost Goblins suddenly began to move as dark energy spread across them.

One after another, the corpses rose from the ground and were transformed into undead.

The weaker Frost Goblins became ordinary Frost Goblin Skeletons, while the stronger Frost Hobgoblins and Frost Shamans became more powerful undead variants. Even the Frost Goblin Lord was transformed into an undead creature that retained much of its original strength.

Within moments, a large group of Frost Undead stood behind Michael.

Emilia stared at the undead army before looking at Kaiser.

"You really can turn almost anything into an undead, can’t you?"

Kaiser smiled.

"Pretty much. And these will be useful for helping Dad fight the stronger monsters."

Michael looked over the newly created undead and nodded.

"Alright, let’s head deeper into the mountains."

Kaiser glanced at the mountain path ahead.

"Sure. The assassins are already scouting the area, so we should find a Frost Troll hunting ground soon."

The group continued moving deeper into the mountains while the Death Knights and newly created Frost Undead followed behind them.

A considerable distance away, the Guild receptionist was quietly observing them from the top of a tall tree. She had concealed her presence completely, making it almost impossible for anyone below to notice her.

She was the same receptionist Kaiser had met during his registration at the Adventurer’s Guild.

From her position among the branches, she carefully watched Kaiser and the enormous undead army moving through the mountains.

"So this is how he managed to collect so many Frost Goblin ears," she quietly muttered.

Her eyes moved across the undead army, counting the different types and observing how they followed Kaiser’s commands without hesitation.

"I originally thought this kid might be using some kind of trick, but I was wrong."

She remained hidden as Kaiser and his group continued walking.

"With an army this large, he could easily sweep through most of the outer area of these mountains."

The receptionist narrowed her eyes slightly as she watched the undead surrounding Kaiser.

She had been suspicious ever since Kaiser brought an unusually large number of Frost Goblin ears to the Guild. It was difficult to believe that a single adventurer could hunt that many monsters in such a short time, so she had secretly followed him to find out how he was doing it.

Now she finally had her answer.

"With such army it’s sure is possible."

She stayed hidden for a few more moments, making sure there was nothing unusual about Kaiser’s actions. After confirming that the undead were simply following his commands and that there was no sign of cheating or foul play, she relaxed.

"I don’t see anything suspicious anymore."

With that, she quietly stepped back from the branch.

Her body turned into a thin mist that blended into the cold mountain air. Within seconds, the mist disappeared between the trees, leaving no trace of her presence.

Kaiser and the others continued deeper into the mountains without ever realizing that they had been watched.
