My Professions Have Too Much Personality

[Great Venerable Red Flame Thunder Resonator has sensed the host’s will and is tentatively comprehending the Perfect-Level Elemental Power. This object is different from a Fog Source, and its direction of effect is also different. It is recommended not to use it on him for now.]

"A different direction of effect?" Su Chen raised an eyebrow. "Then this thing should be different from a Fog Source. When the Great Venerable saw that Fog Source, he was salivating with greed."

Since that was the case, Su Chen didn’t force it upon the Great Venerable. He shifted his gaze to Instant Shadow and used it without hesitation.

[The Holy Profession Shadow Shattering Body, infused with the Perfect-Level Deceitful God Source Power, only feels an unbearable, scorching heat throughout its body. The observation time for its second professional requirement has been halved; the third requirement of collecting ’water from the River of Prophecy’ has been erased; and the fourth requirement is deemed completed.]

Looking at the text on the interface, Su Chen’s body couldn’t help but tremble slightly. This basically slashed the difficulty in half. The observation time was reduced from five years to two and a half, the collection items were reduced to two, and the hunting requirement no longer needed to be done.

"It’s a blend of multiple Deceitful God Source Powers, so it has many effects. It weakens the difficulty, erases certain conditions, and deems requirements completed...

"The Abyss Realm’s understanding of Deceitful Gods has probably reached an extremely high level. They can even formulate this kind of all-in-one Source Power, thereby exerting a massive influence on the professional’s Pseudo-Spirituality."

Su Chen clicked his tongue in wonder. Just from the things he had encountered so far, he could catch a glimpse of the Abyss Realm’s formidable power.

"No, that’s not right..." Suddenly, Su Chen remembered the danger warning on the virtual screen and shook his head. "If there were truly no risks, that warning wouldn’t exist.

"Furthermore, arbitrarily choosing a profession to influence is a capability of the interface. This thing still has uncontrollable aspects, but my interface simply magnified its advantages.

"I wonder if there are similar good things in the other rooms, or even Fog Sources."

A single streak of Source Power had drastically reduced the complexity of taking on the Shadow Shattering Body. Naturally, a few ambitious thoughts sprouted in Su Chen’s mind. After all, he still had as many as seven trial attempts remaining. His physical condition was somewhat weak, so he guzzled down a few mouthfuls of Nutrient Liquid before walking out in high spirits, preparing to check out the other palaces.

Standing on the steps, Su Chen looked down. "I wonder what the reward is for passing the lower-level trials for the first time?" He hesitated for a moment but quickly gave up on the idea. "It probably won’t be better than the Cultivation Site. I’ve already taken the first-clear reward for the highest difficulty; I should still aim to maximize my profits."

As he glanced at the other palaces, his physical condition hadn’t completely recovered yet. However, right at this moment, Su Chen seemed to catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye and suddenly looked up. He saw a resplendent pillar of purple light descending from the sky, plunging straight into the top of the pyramid.

"What the hell is that? Where did it come from?" Su Chen’s eyelids twitched as he stared upward. The pillar of light was dazzling and seemed to come from the outside world. An intuition arose in his heart—this was likely the method of that Residual Spirit that Old Qing had mentioned.

"It came so fast. Those guys are really in a hurry. An unknown powerhouse... Overthinking things really isn’t a good thing." Su Chen’s heart tightened slightly. He glanced at his body, which was wrapped in purple flames, hesitating whether to leave or stay. "No, I have to figure out exactly what this guy is capable of."

Taking a deep breath, Su Chen’s figure blurred, leaving behind an afterimage as he darted far outwards. Only then did he soar high into the sky, gazing at the metal platform from a distance.

At this moment, the pillar of Flame Fire gradually dissipated. From this distance, he could see extremely clearly. On the platform atop the tower, there was a faintly discernible, illusory, transparent figure. The purple flames entwined around its body bore a striking resemblance to his own.

"Is that a projection of the Residual Spirit?" Su Chen’s heart sank slightly. This guy was truly formidable to actually be able to descend here via a projection. At the edges of the platform, an Energy Barrier flared up, seemingly restricting the projection to the platform.

And accompanying the descent of this illusory projection, billowing purple flames also erupted outside the palace in the center of the platform. A lifelike dragon’s head condensed, its eyes locking intently onto the illusory figure before it as two streams of air shot out from its nostrils.

"This Spirit of Sun seems extremely irritable..." Su Chen noticed some clues. Instead, he hoped that the Spirit of Sun would erupt and directly beat this guy out.

The Residual Spirit’s phantom took two steps forward, while the Spirit of Sun appeared even more irritable, sparking two wisps of fire from between its teeth. Unfortunately, it didn’t erupt into action as Su Chen had anticipated. The Residual Spirit retreated several steps, seemingly expressing its stance. The Spirit of Sun gradually calmed down as well. The two sides seemed to be communicating, looking rather tranquil. Su Chen kept his eyes fixed on them.

Soon, he saw the Spirit of Sun shake its head, seemingly expressing refusal. The Residual Spirit’s phantom didn’t seem surprised. It simply reached out a hand, and wisps of ethereal, golden mist-like streams flowed out. Su Chen could see it quite clearly; a hint of human-like contemplation surfaced in the eyes of the Spirit of Sun, as if it were considering the offer.

A moment later, its nostrils flared, and that peculiar wisp of mist surged into its body.

"What the hell is that? It seems to be very beneficial to the Spirit of Sun. So disappointing! Are you really going to eat it just because they offered it?" Su Chen didn’t know what that thing was, feeling a sense of frustration at its lack of restraint. But the current situation didn’t seem like a good thing. Since the Spirit of Sun had taken the item, it would inevitably get the job done.

Sure enough, in the very next moment, streams of radiant light flickered in the Spirit of Sun’s eyes, projecting two lines of slightly blurry text.

The first line read "Chosen One," suffixed with "None."

And the next line read "Acknowledged One," with the suffix strikingly displaying the number "One."

"He seems to have descended into the Flame Space in the form of a projection. Not just anyone can pull off this kind of method." The Star Dome Ancient King, his figure thin and gaunt, raised his head to look at the illusory scene above, locking onto the platform on the pyramid.

"The Spirit of Sun has appeared." The Ancient Kings’ gazes focused slightly. But soon, even through this somewhat illusory image before them, they could sense the suppressed irritation of the Spirit of Sun.

"If he really is a Spirit Fragment left behind by the death of a Sun Tier, would this Spirit of Sun be so irritable? There should at least be some level of affinity," the Profound Celestial Ancient King speculated.

The Holy Cauldron Ancient King shook his head. "Doesn’t this perfectly illustrate a point from another angle? Even if the Spirit of Sun is irritable, it didn’t attack."

"He brought out the Power of Faith," the Hanhai Emperor noted, his eyes profound. Everyone held their breath, watching as that concentrated and pure wisp of Power of Faith was swallowed by the Spirit of Sun.

"Spiritual entities can swallow the Power of Faith? How is that possible? Why couldn’t the Moonlight Spirit and the Spirit of the Morning Star do it?" The Hanhai Emperor furrowed his brows tightly. "If they can devour enough Power of Faith, could it promote their Spiritual evolution?"

For a moment, everyone had many thoughts stemming from this. Unable to ponder further, their attention instantly converged back on the text projected by the Spirit of Sun.

"That person was indeed acknowledged!" A terrifyingly chilling glint flashed in the Zhenwu Ancient King’s eyes as his life aura erupted outward. The cruising warships in the vicinity all blared piercing alarms.

The Profound Celestial Ancient King, however, said leisurely, "That Residual Spirit really didn’t lie. This Spirit of Sun truly has no age limit. Since that person can gain acknowledgment, we have hope as well."

Previously, although they had acted according to what Sun had told them, they were ultimately still somewhat suspicious. Now, however, this proved certain things.

But Sun, staring at the text before him, was utterly dumbfounded.

"How is this possible!" A storm of shock surged in his heart as he looked at the two lines of text in disbelief. "How could he possibly be acknowledged!"

Having no age restriction was merely a lie he used to deceive those Moonlight Tiers. In reality, he knew perfectly well that not only did the Spirit of Sun have an age limit, but it was also extremely strict.

"How could he bypass the age limit? Even with a True Radiance Tier Talent or higher, it would be impossible."

Originally, he merely wanted to use this ritual to accumulate some power for himself, just in case of unexpected needs. But right now, that word "One" truly left him utterly bewildered.

"Unless..." A speculation surfaced in his heart. "That guy isn’t a Moonlight Tier Professional at all. He just looks powerful, but his actual Tier isn’t high. Only then would it be possible for him to be acknowledged."
