My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister

Chapter 729 488: How About I Call You Husband?

Private planes weren't allowed to fly over Kyoto, so the family took a commercial flight. It was a simple trip, and they packed light.

On the plane, since Jiangg Yao had stayed up late again the night before, Chen Yuan let her catch up on sleep, leaning against his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Jiangg Ning, sitting on his other side, used the hour-plus of free time to read a book, making one marvel at the diligence of a top student.

The journey was smooth.

They arrived at Kyoto Airport at 10:41 AM.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at Jingtian Lan Guan—another one of Chen Yuan's homes, though even he could count the number of times he'd visited on one hand.

...

Outside the gate.

After getting out of a black, extended-wheelbase Maybach, the group gazed up at the majestic, imposing villa. Chen Yuan stretched. The butler beside him, ever so perceptive, had already instructed the driver to retrieve the wheelchair from the trunk.

They had been picked up right after landing by people Mrs. Jiang had arranged in advance.

They hadn't needed to say a single word; the butler had taken care of absolutely everything.

"Young Master, ladies, welcome home," the middle-aged man with graying temples said respectfully from the side.

As he finished speaking, two security guards standing by the gate pushed open the ornate iron doors.

Even though Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao were accustomed to the luxurious residences of high society, they couldn't help their eyes from widening, shocked by the sheer extravagance of Chen Yuan's Kyoto home.

This didn't look like a villa; it was practically a manor.

It covered a massive area.

'What kind of villa has a giant white marble fountain in front of its main hall...'

The fountain was Western in design. An ivory-white sculpture of an angel held an accordion, its wings spread wide behind it. Water gushed from the instrument's pipes, SPLASHING into the surrounding basin.

Around the three-tiered, circular pool were carvings of many small animals. It was unclear how they were constructed, but water streamed from the recorders and horns they held, jetting high into the air and refracting the sunlight into a million flecks of gold.

The pool's surface reflected the villa's domed, Baroque-style roof.

On both sides of the main hall were colonnades draped in flowering wisteria.

Maids in matching uniforms were lined up on both sides, with the ones at the front holding the handles to the main hall doors.

"Welcome home, Young Master," they chimed in unison.

Chen Yuan didn't find the scene particularly awkward. It was like this every time he came home. He'd gone from being uncomfortable the first time to thinking nothing of it now. 'After all, I pay these maids so much; they should at least be allowed to show some professional attitude.'

'This is my way of creating jobs.'

'In other words, you can't even get into a professional domestic staffing agency to work in this industry without some qualifications.'

Besides, although Jiang Zhengfeng lived alone, guests visited constantly. Someone had to be there to serve tea, pour water, and offer slippers.

This was simply the proper etiquette for receiving guests. Not to mention the many people who were accustomed to discussing business while playing sports out back—someone had to be on hand to pass out towels.

Jiang Zhengfeng was a businessman, and he had earned all this money through his own abilities. He didn't need to worry about people accusing him of being extravagant and wasteful or bad-mouthing him behind his back.

"Oh, there's no need to help me. I can't stand being waited on hand and foot. I have to say it every time I visit. Can't I walk on my own?" Liu He said from the side, waving off two young maids who tried to support her and take her luggage.

The butler signaled for the two to stand down, letting Liu He handle things herself.

Mr. Chen, on the other hand, simply let the maids take his luggage. He strolled casually into the main hall with his hands behind his back and changed into slippers.

"Chen, give me that luggage! If you let her take it, we'll have no idea where she puts it. This place is so huge, I'll kill myself just trying to find it later," Liu He complained.

"Alright," Chen Yuan arranged. "Why don't you all go with my mom to put the luggage away? That'll save you the trouble of looking for it later."

"Understood, Young Master..." the young maids replied.

He pushed Jiangg Yao's wheelchair forward, then knelt down to change her shoes himself, his movements exceptionally gentle, not letting anyone else help.

Jiangg Yao gazed around the magnificent, opulent main hall. After a moment, she turned back and asked in a low, hesitant whisper:

"Young Master, how come all the maids at your house are young women?"

"My old man is just shameless," he said with a shrug.

"Huh?"

"Just kidding. In reality, it's the visiting guests who like this setup—the President Wangs and President Lis, you know?"

He raised his eyebrows at Jiangg Yao, as if to say, 'You get it.'

Jiangg Yao's face immediately scrunched up. "Ew," she muttered.

The majority of older bosses were indeed the greasy type. After all, to them, young women were just another "material good" to be provided. Otherwise, if the house were staffed with a bunch of stiff, stoic men, the whole place would be as dull as *The Matrix*.

Jiangg Ning surveyed the main hall, her inspection serious. She had a discerning eye and could tell at a glance that the house had been professionally designed and furnished. The rug by the sofa was imported, and the coffee table was carved from a single, massive piece of precious wood.

And hanging on the wall...

Jiangg Ning moved closer to examine it and couldn't help but ask, "Is this an authentic Zhang Daqian?"

"Who's Zhang Daqian?" Chen Yuan and Jiangg Yao, standing behind her, asked in unison.

"A great master of modern Chinese painting. He was incredible. The founder of the splashed-ink-and-color style."

"Sis, you even know about that," Jiangg Yao said, suddenly impressed. She had to admit, there were times she realized the gap in worldly knowledge between her and her sister was enormous.

"This is why I tell you to read more. All you ever do is play video games and watch dramas." Jiangg Ning curled a finger and tapped her lightly on the forehead.

"But the Young Master didn't know either..."

"He's still young. And at least his attitude towards his studies is better than yours."
