Chapter 408: Enraged Half to Death

  • Next Chapter

"Chu Feng, don’t get so cocky!" Venerable Xue Feng stomped his foot, his face a ghastly shade of fury.

He was so enraged he wanted to fight Chu Feng to the death right then and there.

In one fell swoop, he had lost twenty Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones.

That was a full twenty stones—practically his entire fortune, his lifeblood.

Even discovering an entire mineral lode wouldn’t necessarily yield twenty Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones. The loss was immense.

"Damn it!" Xue Fengjian gripped his sword hilt, so furious he wanted to roar at the heavens. Rage churned in his eyes.

He could barely restrain himself from cutting Chu Feng down on the spot.

"Hey, Venerable," the Cultivator from Dragon Hall called out, looking toward the platform where the Martial Arts Venerables were gathered. "Who were you just cursing?"

A flicker of anger appeared in his eyes. As a disciple of Dragon Hall, losing the match was one thing, but he never expected to be humiliated and cursed out on top of it.

This man had no fear of Martial Arts Venerables, and his tone was aggressive as he demanded an answer.

"I was talking about you! What bullshit Dragon Hall? You’re all a bunch of useless, disgraceful trash!" Xue Fengjian was already sick over losing so many Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones. To have this Dragon Hall cultivator dare to question him sent his fury boiling over.

He snarled, holding nothing back.

"Xue Fengjian, do you have a death wish?" At that moment, a man stood up from the group of Martial Arts Peak Realm Cultivators across the way. He wore cyan robes and looked to be in his seventies or eighties, his eyes blazing with fury.

Hearing this, Xue Fengjian realized he had gone too far. He merely snorted and fell silent.

He had started a conflict with Dragon Hall, humiliating them in front of so many people. There was no way their Martial Arts Peak Realm experts would let it slide.

Xue Wujian hurriedly spoke up. "Brother from Dragon Hall, my deepest apologies. My older brother just lost his temper and misspoke. He didn’t mean it. Please, forgive his transgression."

He had been furious himself, but seeing the impending wrath of Dragon Hall, he had no choice but to quickly apologize.

Losing the Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones was bad enough. Offending Dragon Hall on top of that would be a disaster.

So, Xue Wujian could only lower his head. He had to swallow the rage churning inside him—unless he wanted to die.

"Hmph. Misspoke?" the Dragon Hall Martial Arts Peak Realm expert snorted. "Aren’t you afraid you’ll lose your heads next time?"

Beside him, several other Martial Arts Peak experts looked equally furious, ready to attack at any moment.

"Our apologies, our apologies," Xue Wujian said, cupping his fists toward the Martial Arts Peak Realm experts from Dragon Hall.

The overall strength of Dragon Hall far surpassed that of the Snow Sword Sect. Dragon Hall had nearly a dozen Martial Arts Peak Realm experts, and their strongest was at the Martial Arts Limit.

The Snow Sword Sect only had three in total.

"Well, well. When did the Snow Sword Sect get so spineless?" Chu Feng chimed in with a mocking smile. "I always thought you were so arrogant. What’s this? Bullying the weak and fearing the strong now?"

He was deliberately fanning the flames, hoping the two sides would come to blows. After all, he had absolutely no fondness for the Snow Sword Sect.

To put it another way, as far as Chu Feng was concerned, he’d be thrilled if the Snow Sword Sect was wiped off the map and all its members killed.

"Chu Feng, you’ve gone too far!" Xue Wujian roared at him. He felt a sharp pain in his chest, so enraged he nearly passed out.

At this, many of the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm experts present turned to look at Chu Feng, secretly delighting in the drama.

’This kid is ruthless,’ they thought. ’He won’t rest until he’s driven them to their graves.’

Just then, the Seven Kills Sword Master handed the dozens of Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones to Chu Feng. The surrounding Martial Arts Venerables, along with the Martial Arts Peak Realm experts below the stage, all watched with eyes green with envy.

He had struck it rich. Anyone who received such a windfall would be ecstatic.

People would normally fight to the death over a single Martial Cultivation Spirit Stone. Today, he’d won dozens in one go—far more than all the stones offered as prizes for the entire Martial Arts Grand Ceremony.

"Venerable Chu Feng, you make earning Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones look so easy," the Martial Arts Venerable from the Three Swords Sect said with a laugh.

"Yes, well, what can I do?" Chu Feng said, putting on a helpless expression. "I didn’t even want them, but some people just insisted on forcing them on me. Ah, what a world we live in. It’s just full of generous people." As he spoke, he deliberately glanced over at Venerable Xue Feng and the two brothers from the Snow Sword Sect.

His words made the three of them turn purple with rage. Their hatred for Chu Feng was now bone-deep.

"Sword Master, I have urgent matters to attend to. I must take my leave," Xue Wujian said to the Seven Kills Sword Master, cupping his fists.

With that, he turned and left. He was visibly trembling as he walked away, completely overcome with rage.

"Honey, don’t you think you went a little overboard?" Su Miaoke whispered, holding the pile of Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones. "Look how furious you made them."
