My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 407: A Big Score
The Dragon Hall Cultivator was stunned, finding it hard to believe.
Just a moment ago, the two of them were evenly matched, trading blows back and forth.
But now, Bai Xue had suddenly changed her technique. It was as if she had become a completely different person, her combat strength increasing severalfold.
Her attacks were so incredibly fierce that the Dragon Hall Cultivator couldn’t withstand them at all.
He now felt that trying to block her sword with his spear was an impossibly difficult task.
However, even so, he had no choice but to desperately block and parry.
"This is the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique!"
At this, many people in the crowd cried out in surprise.
The audience was massive. Among them were over a hundred cultivators at the Martial Arts Peak, so naturally, many recognized the Sword Skill.
Although no one present had ever seen the legendary Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor, they had all heard the tales and knew just how formidable he was.
In fact, many of them even knew that the Sect Leader of the Celestial Sword Sect was the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor’s daughter.
And the Snow Sword Sect, of course, was also familiar with the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique.
The Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor had been a major reason for the Snow Sword Sect’s split from the Celestial Sword Sect years ago, so they were certainly no strangers to his Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique.
Chu Feng glanced over at the two from the Snow Sword Sect. Their expressions were as foul as if they had eaten shit.
"How outrageous! Does the Celestial Sword Sect have no shame, using the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique? Absolutely shameless!" Xue Fengjian snorted, furious.
"What? Did you not know that the Sect Leader of the Celestial Sword Sect is the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor’s daughter? Isn’t that common knowledge? So what’s wrong with a Celestial Sword Sect disciple using the Heaven-Slaying Sword Technique? Is there a problem?" Chu Feng said with a smile.
"This... this can’t be happening, can it? Dammit, I’m going to lose again?" Venerable Xue Feng was dumbfounded by the scene, his face couldn’t have gotten any darker.
His entire body was trembling. He had bet fifteen Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones on this match—that was practically his entire fortune.
Including the five from before, he had put up a total of twenty Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones!
If he lost, he’d be completely broke.
That’s why Venerable Xue Feng’s expression was so ugly, and his heart was pounding with anxiety. He had never imagined things would turn out like this.
"You guys are cheating! I’m not playing anymore," Xue Fengjian said to the Seven Kills Sword Master.
"What? Are you trying to forfeit early? That’s fine by me. Sword Master, you’re our witness. This guy is trying to back out of the bet. What do you say we do?" Chu Feng said to the Seven Kills Sword Master.
"It’s not over yet, is it?" Xue Fengjian said through gritted teeth.
Everyone’s gaze had already turned to him.
At this moment, Xue Fengjian’s heart was filled with regret. ’This is going to be a huge loss.’
Besides, he couldn’t back out. With the Seven Kills Sword Master as a witness, he wouldn’t get his Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones back even if he tried. He would only end up being mocked by the crowd.
After all, everyone was watching. He couldn’t afford to do something like that. He would lose both his face and his Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones.
"It’s only a matter of time, isn’t it? The Dragon Hall Cultivator you were so optimistic about can’t hold on much longer. He’s bound to lose," Chu Feng said with a smile, his eyes glued to the dozens of Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones in the Seven Kills Sword Master’s hands.
After all, he stood to win thirty Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones from this one match. It was a massive windfall.
He’d made a small fortune.
Soon enough, the outcome proved Chu Feng right.
After fighting for a few more moments, the Dragon Hall Cultivator hurriedly said to Bai Xue, "Stop, stop, stop! I lose! I surrender, no more fighting!"
"Tch. Would’ve been better if you’d just surrendered earlier. Did you really have to drag it out like this? So pointless," Bai Xue said, sheathing her sword and rolling her eyes.
"Your Sword Skill is incredible. Just too powerful," her opponent said with a sigh of admiration.
"If you surrender, then drop your weapon," Bai Xue said, noting that even though he’d conceded, he was still holding his spear.
"Alright, alright, I’m dropping it." The Dragon Hall Cultivator was decisive, immediately tossing his spear aside.
This guy didn’t know that two of the twenty-four Martial Arts Venerables had actually bet on him. Not only had he lost, but he had surrendered so readily.
But he had no choice. He truly couldn’t win, and if he hadn’t surrendered, the outcome would have been far worse.
"Fucking piece of trash! Useless! Absolutely useless!" Xue Fengjian roared, practically choking on his rage.
His voice was anything but quiet, and his furious outburst was heard by nearly everyone in the arena.
The disciples from the Dragon Hall all looked over, their expressions hostile.
The Dragon Hall Cultivator who had just fought glanced at Xue Fengjian as well, only to be met with a vicious glare.
Soon, the result was announced: Bai Xue had won the match.
"Oh, yes! We won, we won! Thirty Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones!" Chu Feng burst out laughing, his joyous roar audible to everyone. All eyes turned to him.
This only made Venerable Xue Feng’s expression darken further.
