My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 340: Almost No Chance
"I mean... you’re so beautiful. Why are you so obsessed with the Martial Dao? Besides, finding a partner, getting married, and having kids doesn’t have to interfere with your martial arts journey," Chu Feng said.
In truth, he couldn’t quite understand this mindset, yet he knew that even Bai Xue surprisingly thought the same way.
"Speaking of Bai Xue, her path will likely be much smoother than mine. She’ll go further, too. Her talent is greater than mine," Bai Han said.
Chu Feng didn’t comment. The two sisters were indeed remarkably talented.
"Junior Brother, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask," Bai Han said.
"What is it? Go ahead, Senior Sister," Chu Feng said.
"I just wanted to ask... in my current condition, is there any hope for me to break through to the Golden Core Realm?" Bai Han stopped walking and turned to look at Chu Feng behind her.
Chu Feng stopped as well. He looked at Bai Han and said, "Are you sure you want to know?"
"Of course. But I need you to be honest. I don’t want you to feed me pretty lies," Bai Han said.
"Alright. You want the truth, so I’ll give you the truth. Based on your current condition... breaking through to the Golden Core Realm is basically hopeless," Chu Feng said calmly.
Though his tone was flat, it was filled with absolute certainty, as if stating an undeniable fact.
"Is there really no chance at all?" Hearing his words, she couldn’t accept it and asked urgently.
She desperately wanted to reach the Golden Core Realm.
She had dedicated her entire life to this path, wanting nothing more than to achieve something great in the Martial Dao.
And though she had already reached a considerable height, she felt it wasn’t enough. She had to keep moving forward.
But now, Chu Feng was telling her she had no hope of advancing. It was a difficult pill to swallow.
"Let me give you an example, and you’ll understand. Take the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor. His talent was incredible, right? Downright heaven-defying. But even he failed to break through to the Golden Core Realm, and he sacrificed so much for it," Chu Feng said with a sigh.
"The Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor may have failed back then, but that doesn’t mean no one will ever succeed, does it?" Bai Han countered.
"You’re not wrong. Just because he failed doesn’t mean no one ever will. But I have to tell you, the path of the Martial Dao has become incredibly difficult. It’s practically a dead end," Chu Feng said.
In the current era, breaking through to the Golden Core Realm is countless times harder than it was in the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor’s time hundreds of years ago.
Unless someone comes across a heaven-defying stroke of luck, there might be a chance. Otherwise, it’s impossible.
"Why? Why do you say it’s a dead end? What about strengthening one’s Divine Soul? If I increase my Divine Soul Strength, that should work, right?" Bai Han asked, still clinging to hope.
"What you’re suggesting is indeed a viable path, but there isn’t enough time. The absolute lifespan for someone at the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm is about three hundred years. Most don’t even reach that limit, dying around two hundred seventy or eighty. Senior Sister, you’re already a hundred and ten. How much time do you think you have left?" Chu Feng said.
"Then I still have at least a hundred and fifty years!" Bai Han said.
"And you think a hundred-plus years is a long time? At your current rate of Cultivation, your progress will only get slower the further you go. A hundred and fifty years isn’t nearly enough to reach that realm. You’ll likely die of old age before you even reach the threshold," Chu Feng said.
"Then how can it be done?" Bai Han asked.
"Unless you reach the absolute limit of the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm. At that point, you might trigger a Celestial Tribulation. If you can survive it, perhaps you can take another step forward," Chu Feng said.
"And how do I trigger a Celestial Tribulation?" Bai Han asked.
"When your power reaches a certain point, all you need to do is unleash it. But you’re not there yet. You’re far from it. Can you defeat a cultivator at the very limit of the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm?" Chu Feng asked.
"Sigh... No matter what, even if there’s just a sliver of hope, I have to try!" Bai Han declared.
"Keep at it. Maybe a miracle will happen," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"But you must have a way, right? I want to know, what’s the lifespan of someone in the Nascent Soul Realm? And the Golden Core Realm?" Bai Han asked.
"I don’t. If I did, I would have had my family start Cultivation long ago. None of them have even begun. If I find a way in the future, I’ll definitely bring them along with me," Chu Feng said.
"Someone in the Nascent Soul Realm can live for seven or eight hundred years. In the Golden Core Realm, it’s at least two thousand. I reckon you couldn’t find more than a handful of Nascent Soul Realm Cultivators on the entire planet, let alone anyone in the Golden Core Realm. No one would be a match for a Golden Core expert," Chu Feng said.
"But you can reach the Golden Core Realm, Junior Brother. Right?" Bai Han asked.
"Of course I can," Chu Feng said with unshakable confidence, not hesitating for a second.
"Then you’re different from us Martial Cultivators, aren’t you? In other words, your lineage is not the same as ours," Bai Han pressed.
