My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 339: In My Life, There Is Only the Martial Dao
To enter, you had to prove your connection to the Martial Arts Realm. You needed some form of verification from a Martial Cultivation Family or a Martial Cultivation Sect to get in.
This was to prevent any riffraff from sneaking in to freeload.
This so-called Martial Arts Grand Ceremony was actually similar to the last convention held by the Chu Family, only on a higher level and a grander scale.
The Cultivators attending this Martial Arts Grand Ceremony came from all corners of the land. They hailed from Martial Arts Families as well as Martial Arts Sects and Schools.
Their numbers were astonishing.
Some smaller Martial Arts Families or Martial Arts Sects would also suffer a complete defeat during the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony, fading into the river of history.
Of course, some Loose Cultivators would also distinguish themselves during the grand ceremony, eventually establishing new Martial Arts Families or Martial Arts Sects and Schools.
In turn, they would also receive official recognition.
Establishing a so-called Martial Arts Family was the simplest of all; one only needed a member who had reached the Qi Cultivation Realm to be eligible to apply.
After all, the interval between each Martial Arts Grand Ceremony was very long—half a century, a full two generations.
Basically, this meant that out of every two generations, only one would be able to participate, and only once in their lifetime.
That was why the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony was so highly sought after by the various powers of the Martial Arts Realm.
「The next morning」
Someone knocked on Chu Feng’s door bright and early.
"Senior Brother Chu, Elder Bai Han sent me to get you."
Chu Feng opened his eyes and glanced outside. Su Miaoke was waking up as well.
"Go on, honey," Su Miaoke said. "I’ll be fine here for a few days. I’ll come find you once people from the Chu Family arrive."
"Okay, I’ll be back tonight. There’s no way I’m staying there the whole time," Chu Feng said. The venue for the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony wasn’t too far from the Celestial Sword Sect’s main gate.
"Hmph. As if I don’t know what you’re thinking," Su Miaoke said, turning her head away, her face flushing.
Chu Feng then stepped out of the room, where two female disciples were waiting.
Just then, Bai Han walked over.
"Junior Brother, how was last night? Did you rest well?" Bai Han asked with a smile. She held a beautiful sword, its entire body a lustrous aquamarine.
"It was great. Are we leaving now?" Chu Feng asked.
"Yes, let’s go. We can get breakfast when we’re there. It’s not far, anyway," Bai Han said.
She then led Chu Feng outside. With a single, powerful leap, Bai Han launched herself toward a mountain ridge, her figure quickly vanishing from sight.
Chu Feng wasn’t surprised to see this. He simply took a single, deliberate step, and as if walking on air, reappeared several dozen meters away.
This scene left the two female disciples utterly stunned.
Their eyes went wide as saucers. It was the first time they had ever witnessed such an incredible feat—he was like an Immortal from myth and legend.
"Senior Brother Chu is incredible! He can walk on air for dozens of meters!" one of the female disciples exclaimed, her eyes filled with envy and adoration.
"Oh, did you hear?" the other female disciple said. "Yesterday, the Sect Leader personally issued an order abolishing the rule that forbids disciples from marrying. And from now on, the Celestial Sword Sect will start recruiting male disciples too!"
This news sent waves of excitement through the female disciples of the Celestial Sword Sect. After enduring for so many years, they had thought they were fated to live their lives without men.
They never imagined that they would suddenly receive such news.
"Oh my god, did the Sect Leader suddenly have a change of heart? The heavens be praised!" one disciple exclaimed, so overcome with emotion that she knelt and bowed toward the sky.
After leaving the main peak of the Celestial Sword Sect, Chu Feng easily kept pace with Bai Han. He never fell behind and looked completely composed, without the slightest hint of unsteadiness.
"Your strength is truly formidable, Junior Brother," Bai Han remarked with a smile, glancing at Chu Feng.
"Sigh. It’s nothing special. Is that Kunlun Mountain up ahead? And that must be the Big Snow Plateau, right?" Chu Feng asked, pointing.
A few kilometers ahead of them, perched on the mountainside, was a large, flat expanse that looked like a snowy plateau. It was quite vast.
Numerous buildings already dotted the surface, and they could see the faint figures of people moving about.
"That’s right. It’s just ahead," Bai Han said, nodding.
"By the way," Chu Feng asked curiously, "when I was leaving earlier, I thought I heard a lot of people in the Sect celebrating and laughing."
"That’s because the Sect Leader made an announcement yesterday," Bai Han explained with a sigh. "She abolished the rule forbidding Celestial Sword Sect disciples from marrying. Many disciples cried tears of joy. There were people they’d loved for a long time but couldn’t be with due to the Sect’s regulations."
"That rule was messed up to begin with," Chu Feng said. "I think I saw a dozen or so female disciples crying back there."
"Let them cry. In any case, I don’t entirely agree with what Master has done," Bai Han said.
"Oh? Why’s that? Did a man break your heart?" Chu Feng asked, his curiosity piqued.
"No," Bai Han said flatly. "I just don’t want to waste my energy on such things. My life is dedicated to one thing and one thing only: the Martial Dao!"
