Chapter 34: Chapter 34: A Stunning Arm Strike, Decapitation with a Broken Blade
At that moment, both sides ceased fighting, their eyes converging on the ongoing battle between Su Chen and the Third Boss.
The two moved so fast that before onlookers could even see the previous move clearly, the next clash had already begun. Among everyone present, only Yan Que could barely follow their movements. The rest could only hear the continuous sounds of their collisions.
The more Yan Que watched, the more alarmed he became. A thought flashed through his mind, "Is this man in black also a Power Training Martial Artist?" He had exchanged blows with the Third Boss just moments ago, and because of that, he knew exactly how terrifying a Power Training Martial Artist could be. Seeing this man in black hold his ground against such an opponent for so long without losing the upper hand, it was no wonder he made such a speculation.
The Third Boss shared this very thought. As he fought Su Chen, his own shock continued to grow. Even though Su Chen clearly wasn’t using any Inner Power, the terrifying Iron Fist and Iron Palm still brought bursts of stinging pain the moment they made contact with his body. If he hadn’t already been a Power Training Martial Artist, relying on his Inner Power to defuse the opponent’s fierce attacks, he would have likely lost all ability to parry in no time.
As the number of exchanges increased, the Third Boss became not only astonished but also thoroughly confused. He didn’t understand why Su Chen wasn’t using Inner Power. But soon, a sudden realization hit him, "Could it be that he isn’t a Power Training Martial Artist?!"
Once this thought arose, it became increasingly uncontrollable. He shot a sudden look at Su Chen, a flash of horror in his eyes.
Not a Power Training Martial Artist, hence unable to use Inner Power, yet somehow fighting him to a standstill—where the hell did this monster come from?
"No, that’s absolutely impossible!"
Perhaps unable to accept it, or simply refusing to believe it, the Third Boss’s turbulent emotions bled into his moves. Fighting against him, Su Chen distinctly felt his opponent’s attacks suddenly become exceptionally ferocious.
"What’s this?" Su Chen’s movements paused, a strange look crossing his face.
The moment he had just clashed with the Third Boss, he felt a bizarre energy surge into his own body. Though it was only a tiny trace, it was highly destructive, wandering through his body and recklessly wreaking havoc on his organs.
"Could this be Inner Power?"
Feeling the sharp bursts of pain radiating through his body, Su Chen’s eyes darkened. Experiencing the terror of Inner Power firsthand left his heart palpitating. If there had been even a little more of this formidable power, he feared his internal organs would have been completely destroyed.
"You really aren’t a Power Training Martial Artist!" the Third Boss’s voice abruptly rang out.
Reaching Su Chen’s ears, this made him freeze slightly. He wondered when he had ever claimed to be a Power Training Martial Artist.
The Third Boss ignored Su Chen’s surprise. His lips split open to reveal yellowed teeth as he sneered, "Without even having Inner Power, where do you get the courage to compete with me? Go to hell!"
Having confirmed that Su Chen was not a Power Training Martial Artist, the Third Boss’s aura surged, and his attacks grew incomparably savage. Su Chen looked dumbfounded at the enraged opponent, wondering how not having Inner Power had provoked the man so much.
This thought flashed by in an instant. Su Chen tried his best to avoid crossing blows with him, but the Third Boss remained aggressive, pressing forward without yielding an inch.
"You can’t escape!" Just then, an eerie smile suddenly appeared on the Third Boss’s face.
The next moment, Su Chen felt a terrifying force transmit through his arm, causing his body to pitch violently forward. Seizing the opportunity, the Third Boss clamped down on Su Chen’s arm, a cruel smile spreading across his face. Accompanying this smile, he raised his other arm. With an elbow up and his palm condensed with power, he struck out through the air toward Su Chen.
Just as he prepared to welcome the joy of victory, a mocking sneer surfaced on Su Chen’s face.
RIP.
Suddenly, a harsh tearing sound echoed out, reaching the Third Boss’s ears. This made him pause, wondering what that sound was. But immediately after, an unwarranted sense of crisis welled up in his heart, as if he had been locked onto by a ferocious beast. Catching a glimpse from the corner of his eye, he saw an arm shoot out from Su Chen’s sleeve.
He thought in shock, "Isn’t he one-armed?"
In a split second, the Third Boss’s expression drastically changed. A hint of panic crept up his cheeks, and the movement of his hand abruptly stalled.
Catching this fleeting opening, Su Chen acted with lightning speed. Gripping his saber, drawing it, and swinging it out—all his movements flowed seamlessly in the blink of an eye.
However, to Su Chen’s surprise, even with such a lightning-fast strike, his opponent still managed to react. The Third Boss retracted his hand as fast as lightning. With an urgent look on his face, he clenched his palm, attempting to grab the saber’s hilt and block the attack.
Seeing this, Su Chen exhaled a puff of foul air through his nose and let out an explosive shout.
Under the triple empowerment of the Iron Cloth Shirt, Ape Arm Skill, and Frenzy Wave Saber Technique, the clothing on his arm looked as if it were about to burst apart. A tremendous force surged from his arm, and the speed of his strike instantly doubled.
A cold gleam flashed like a phantom shadow, followed by a SLICE, much like the sound of a blade splitting open a watermelon. Driven by Su Chen’s immense power, the broken steel saber plowed right through the Third Boss’s palm and, in an utterly barbaric manner, stabbed straight into his body.
Blood fell in a steady DRIP DRIP, then gushed out, splattering the surroundings.
"Ah!"
The Third Boss let out a miserable scream as Su Chen kicked his body away. Blood flowed uncontrollably, instantly soaking his clothes and the ground.
"I’m going to kill you!" Yet, even after sustaining such a grievous injury, the Third Boss lost none of his initial ferocity. Taking heavy strides, he erupted with astonishing speed and charged right up to Su Chen.
Su Chen furrowed his brows slightly. He hadn’t expected the man’s vitality to be so tenacious. However, he had no intention of engaging him head-on. Facing the Third Boss’s dying counterattack, Su Chen repeatedly dodged.
He thought, "Something’s wrong. Logically, with this amount of blood loss, he should have died already. How is this guy still so fierce? Could it be because of his Inner Power?"
After dodging for a moment, Su Chen grew suspicious and observed the Third Boss. The man’s face was deathly pale and his breathing chaotic, yet he was still capable of attacking—though his speed grew slower and his moves increasingly weak.
"Forget it. I’ll be merciful and send you on your way," Su Chen muttered.
Seeing the man lingering at death’s door, Su Chen felt a twinge of pity. Decisively, he took a step forward and beheaded him with a single stroke of his saber, sending him on his way.
"Third Boss!"
"The Third Boss is dead!"
"Oh no, the Third Boss has been killed!"
Following a brief, dead silence, it was as if a stone had been tossed into a calm lake, quickly causing an uproar. Upon seeing the Third Boss’s head rolling on the ground, the bandits turned pale, completely overtaken by panic.
"Capture them all!" Right at this moment, Yan Que snapped out of his daze and immediately barked the order.
The members of the Fang Family quickly regained their wits and surrounded the bandits in unison. Facing the encirclement, the bandits had absolutely no strength to resist. Thus, one by one, they cowered with their hands on their heads and surrendered outright.
Seeing this scene, Yan Que let out a long breath. Thankfully, it was a close call but no real danger. He glanced at the dead Third Boss, shook his head slightly, and then turned his gaze toward Su Chen.
When he saw the arm that Su Chen had "grown" back, Yan Que’s expression became somewhat peculiar. This peculiarity only deepened as he watched Su Chen bend down and rummage through the Third Boss’s body.
