Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Sinister Sun Yun, Spirit Head Skill, Prescription

SMACK!

Su Chen struck out with a palm, landing vertically on the top of the skull of Tao Dingfang. With a loud CRACK, the bone shattered. Tao Dingfang bled from all seven orifices and died on the spot.

"He’s finally dead!" Sun Yun panted. He walked over to Tao Dingfang and stared at the fallen corpse, a relieved smile appearing on his face.

Su Chen remained silent. His battle with Tao Dingfang had taken a significant toll on him. He half-squatted in place, regulating his breathing.

"Are you alright?" Sun Yun approached Su Chen and asked with concern.

Su Chen didn’t even look at him. He simply shook his head and didn’t reply.

Suddenly, the concerned look on Sun Yun’s face froze, replaced by a touch of ruthlessness. His palm trembled slightly as he gathered his strength and thrust it forward. Just as it was about to strike Su Chen’s body, it abruptly stopped.

Su Chen, who had just been bending over, dodged as if sensing something. He looked up and stared at Sun Yun expressionlessly.

Sun Yun said coldly, "What a pity. You still noticed. Your vigilance is truly the greatest I have ever seen in my life."

He had intended to take advantage of Su Chen’s moment of relaxation to eliminate him, but he hadn’t expected Su Chen to anticipate it.

"If I’m not mistaken, you are Yang Guo, aren’t you?"

From the moment Su Chen’s blade tore through his sleeve, Sun Yun had guessed his identity. He genuinely hadn’t expected that the person he was cooperating with was actually his other enemy, Yang Guo.

Faced with Su Chen’s silence, Sun Yun didn’t press the question. He looked Su Chen up and down and chuckled. "However, what does it matter how vigilant you are? You must have exhausted all your strength fighting Tao Dingfang, but I haven’t even truly made my move yet."

As soon as his voice fell, Sun Yun’s aura abruptly changed. His figure flickered, and a storm-like offensive violently attacked Su Chen, every move aiming for a fatal blow!

BAM BAM BAM!

Having bided his time for so long, Sun Yun dropped all pretense. Not only was he uninjured, but he was also full of energy, completely shedding his previous sluggishness. His moves were fierce and swift, and every gesture carried a sharp, murderous intent.

Su Chen defended without attacking, constantly dodging and retreating, which further convinced Sun Yun that Su Chen was thoroughly exhausted. However, Sun Yun didn’t act rashly; instead, he attacked Su Chen like water dripping on a stone, slowly eating away at his remaining stamina bit by bit.

Suddenly, Sun Yun’s expression changed slightly as he saw through Su Chen’s intention. He immediately shouted, "Don’t even think about leaving!"

Having finally seized this opportunity, how could Sun Yun let Su Chen escape?

Seeing Su Chen’s retreating back, a ruthless look flashed across Sun Yun’s face. He chased after him with large strides. Going all out, he was about to catch up to Su Chen in the blink of an eye.

But right at this moment, the sprinting Su Chen suddenly stopped in his tracks. His body abruptly turned around, and what entered Sun Yun’s line of sight was Su Chen’s harmless smile.

"Oh no!"

Seeing this smile, Sun Yun’s expression drastically changed. A sense of foreboding rose from the soles of his feet, rushing straight to his heart and sending a chill down his spine.

"No, he’s bluffing! I’ve been fooled!"

But soon after, Sun Yun fiercely snapped out of it. He had witnessed Su Chen’s entire battle with Tao Dingfang. After such a fierce fight, he himself would have been exhausted long ago. No matter how well Su Chen disguised it, he couldn’t possibly be completely fine. Under the current circumstances, there could be only one explanation: Su Chen was feigning an attack to disrupt his focus and buy time for an escape.

"Haha, you dare try to trick me with such a petty trick? Then let me send you on your way!" Sun Yun sneered inwardly. His hand movements no longer stalled, and a vast power surged from his arm.

He struck out a palm. Seeing a hint of surprise emerge on Su Chen’s face, he became even more certain of his assumption.

"Die!" Sun Yun gritted his teeth and spat out a single word, aiming a direct strike at Su Chen’s face.

THUD!

"What?"

As their palms collided, a muffled sound erupted, making Sun Yun’s heart tremble. An unusually surging force suddenly poured out from Su Chen’s palm in an endless stream. It invaded his body, recklessly destroying his internal organs. Like a volcano that had been suppressed for a long time, it erupted in an instant, completely shattering his heart meridian.

"You..." Sun Yun stared at Su Chen in absolute horror, his face full of disbelief.

"Sorry, I was faking it," Su Chen replied indifferently, knowing what Sun Yun was thinking.

His fight with Tao Dingfang had indeed consumed a lot of his energy, but not to the point where he couldn’t even fight back. Sun Yun’s strength was far inferior compared to Tao Dingfang’s. Even in his current state, Su Chen still had the ability to kill him. It was just that Su Chen wanted to avoid complete exhaustion and didn’t want to drag out a stalemate. Therefore, he played along with Sun Yun’s assumptions, pretending to be spent, and then looked for an opportunity to finish him off with a single, fatal blow.

Under an attack infused with four layers of strength, even Tao Dingfang couldn’t hold on, let alone Sun Yun.

PHEW.

Taking a deep breath, Su Chen’s tense body relaxed. This battle had truly been mentally and physically exhausting. Fortunately, he had been on guard against Sun Yun from the start; otherwise, it would have been hard to say who would live and who would die.

"I should kill these soldiers of the Iron Armor Army first, and then collect the spoils of war."

Su Chen’s gaze shifted to the soldiers of the Iron Armor Army who had fainted from poisoning. He stood up, walked over to them, and gave them all a quick, painless death. Along the way, he also gave Tao Dingfang and Sun Yun each an extra stab just to be absolutely sure.

Only after finishing all this did Su Chen begin looting the corpses.

After searching for a while, he didn’t find much money. Neither Tao Dingfang, Sun Yun, nor the soldiers carried many silver taels on them. Fortunately, he didn’t come up completely empty-handed.

"Spirit Head Skill?"

He found a secret manual on Sun Yun’s body. Sun Yun had kept it close to him, so it seemed quite important. The moment he opened it, Su Chen’s expression changed, and he violently retreated as a cloud of gray mist suddenly wafted up from the book.

"It’s poisoned!" Su Chen stared at the scene before him, his face darkening. Thanks to his timely dodge, he had managed to avoid the toxic mist.

Even after the gray mist dispersed, Su Chen still didn’t get close. Instead, he picked up a branch and simply flipped through a few pages, gaining a preliminary understanding of the characteristics of this Cultivation Technique.

The Spirit Head Skill was similar to the Iron Head Skill. It could enhance the defense of the head and strengthen the five senses, but it was difficult and dangerous to practice.

"Difficult to practice? There is no Cultivation Technique that my system panel finds difficult!" Su Chen chuckled, unconcerned. However, he didn’t plan to practice it right now. Instead, he found a piece of coarse cloth, wrapped the secret manual in it, and placed it in his bundle. Since he couldn’t be sure if there were still residual toxins on the manual, he naturally wouldn’t touch it directly. He decided to pack it away and practice it later.

Afterward, Su Chen rummaged through Tao Dingfang’s body. Not only did he find no secret manuals, but there weren’t even any silver taels. He was a complete pauper. Having no choice, Su Chen gave up. He slung his bundle over his back and hurried in the direction of White Stone City.

Tao Wenxuan and Tao Dingfang were jackals of the same tribe. Since he had killed Tao Dingfang, Su Chen didn’t intend to spare Tao Wenxuan either.

On his way back to White Stone City, Su Chen sprinted swiftly. The time it took an incense stick to burn later, he spotted the group carrying Tao Wenxuan back. Su Chen immediately rushed forward and disposed of the few soldiers. Lifting the curtain, he saw that Tao Wenxuan showed no signs of Awakening, so he very considerately allowed him to die in his sleep.

After taking care of Tao Wenxuan, Su Chen still didn’t turn back. Instead, he continued on his journey.

It wasn’t long before he arrived at White Stone City. He entered the County Magistrate’s Office unimpeded, casually asked a Governmental Constable for directions, and found the storehouse.

BANG!

The storehouse door was kicked open. What greeted his eyes were five chests filled to the brim with snow-white silver. One chest contained about ten thousand taels, so five chests meant fifty thousand taels.

"What a pity. There’s so much silver, but I can’t take it with me!"

Carrying such a large chest out of the city, even if it was just one, would be far too conspicuous, and there was no need for it anyway. Su Chen withdrew his gaze and let it fall on two other small chests. He opened them.

One chest contained a stack of account books, which Su Chen ignored entirely, turning his attention to the other chest.

"Ten gold bars and ten thousand taels in silver notes!"

Su Chen’s face lit up with joy at the sight. Ten thousand taels in silver notes would be enough for him to use Krypton Gold many times, not to mention there were also ten gold bars.

"I can take this entire small chest with me, and then swipe some silver taels along the way. It’s a shame I didn’t find any secret manuals in the County Magistrate’s Office."

Su Chen quickly made a decision. He packed everything from the small chest and swiped a handful of silver taels until his bundle was completely full before finally leaving.

"Ah, ah, ah!"

Just as he stepped out of the room, Su Chen heard a strange cry. A deaf-mute man, leading a mute girl, spotted Su Chen and walked over.

After studying him for a moment, the deaf-mute man suddenly became excited. He let go of the mute girl’s hand and knelt before Su Chen. He had recognized Su Chen and knew that this was the man who had saved him earlier.

"Ah, ah, ah!" the deaf-mute man voiced out, thanking Su Chen in his own way.

Su Chen didn’t say a word. He frowned slightly, as if pondering something.

After a long while, his brow smoothed out. He helped the deaf-mute man up and asked, "If you want to thank me, could you give me the prescription for the Blood Boiling Powder?"
