My Kaiju Parasite Revived Me, But a Yandere Bought My Streaming Rights
Chapter 286: Two Separate Answers
The verified center vote reached fifty-one point four percent.
Elara touched the brass bolt.
Deep breath.
Pela pulled the red ring to Elara’s selected pressure. Rina held the external breathing bag unopened. Kikaru supported Elara’s right shoulder where the leash still braced it.
The depot medic asked through Aren’s wire.
"Current direction?"
Elara wrote on the board with her left hand.
```
REMOVE LEASH NOW.
```
"Transferred load will enter the public vote."
```
YES.
```
"Your airway may fail."
```
YES.
```
"Your right side may lose support."
Elara looked at Caleb’s local shelter camera.
He said nothing.
She wrote:
```
BODY THAT NEEDS HELP
IS STILL MINE.
```
Iseul recorded the answer at Mercy.
The depot medic recorded it at the river line.
Rina recorded Elara’s hand and the live pressure mark.
Pela recorded the red ring.
Four separate medical witnesses.
No one recorded a romantic title.
Elara selected the printer gear.
Rina squeezed the breathing bag after her shoulder moved.
Air entered.
Pela pulled the exposed black leash line one inch from the red release.
Hooks opened under Elara’s skin.
Her right arm drove toward Caleb’s image on the camera.
Kikaru supported the shoulder without forcing it back.
Elara touched copper.
Stop.
Everyone froze at current pressure.
The Woman printed across the floor.
```
REMOVAL DURING ACTIVE EMERGENCY
ENDANGERS PUBLIC MAJORITY.
```
Elara used her left foot to cover the text.
She stayed conscious for three bagged breaths.
Then she selected birdseed.
Lower pressure.
Pela eased the red ring. The first hook released from scar tissue with a wet sound.
Blood ran beneath Elara’s collar.
Her right hand stopped reaching for the camera.
It fell against the floor.
No movement followed.
Kikaru checked her fingers.
"Can you feel this?"
Elara tapped the sugar tin with her left hand.
Short hold.
Question deferred.
The second hook crossed her spine.
The medic warned, "Removing it may drop trunk support."
Elara selected brass.
Continue.
Pela pulled.
Elara folded at the waist.
Kikaru and Sefa caught her from opposite sides after asking through pressure. Rina bagged on the printer gear. Her chest rose. Her body supplied no breath of its own.
The black line came free to the dark band.
Everyone stopped.
The final section entered her throat.
Iseul called stop.
Elara’s lips had gone blue around the breathing bag.
Pela held current pressure. Nobody pulled on the remaining leash. Rina gave two bag strokes only after Elara touched printer gear.
Color returned slowly.
The Woman filled the wall with `CONTINUE`.
Elara touched copper.
Stop remained stop.
They waited through twelve manual breaths.
Elara selected birdseed, then brass.
Lower pressure. Continue.
The team resumed because she answered now, not because she had answered before.
At North Glass, Kim’s rescue crew cut through the moving steel door.
They found her off-grid room fourteen inches below its last chalk outline.
Kim lay beside the narrow bed with one hand around a dead terminal cable.
The paper runner asked her name.
The terminal struck text against the floor.
```
KIM MERCER.
```
The civic system answered with an older record.
```
KIMMELY MERCER LEGACY CLEARANCE.
RESPONSIBLE SUPPORT HOLDER.
STREAM RIGHTS ORIGIN.
EMERGENCY FAMILY AUTHORITY.
```
The owner door had burned. The legal identity remained.
Emergency forms used it to put Kim’s name back beneath the public majority.
```
CENTER SUPPORT CUSTODIAN AVAILABLE.
```
Kim moved one finger against the dead cable.
```
DESTROY LEGACY CLEARANCE.
```
The runner asked, "Cost?"
```
NO LEGAL ACCESS TO ROOM.
NO STREAM CLAIM DEFENSE.
NO FAMILY AUTHORITY.
NO CLEAN ASSET ROUTE.
```
"Rescue team is inside your room now. Deleting clearance may classify us as trespassers and move the room again."
```
PHYSICAL HANDS ALREADY HERE.
USE THEM.
```
Cassius held the final Voss identity key in the witness carriage.
"Deleting Kimmely removes her strongest defense against prosecution," he said.
Kim’s terminal answered.
```
YES.
```
"It also removes every remaining right she might use to recover seized money."
```
YES.
```
Sam asked, "Current direction?"
```
KIM MERCER IS NOT
THE CITY’S MOTHER.
DELETE IT.
```
Cassius used the key once.
Kimmely Mercer Legacy Clearance burned out of the civic root.
The off-grid room moved.
Its steel door became concrete behind the rescue crew.
They stayed inside with Kim and a paper map that no longer matched any building.
One rescuer lifted her shoulders. Another lifted her legs. The paper runner carried water and marked each wall they passed with chalk.
The first chalk mark moved onto the ceiling.
The team ignored orientation and followed air. A cold draft came through a service grille behind Kim’s bed. They removed the grille with the same hand saw used on her door.
Kim woke long enough to point at the white corridor visible beyond it.
The paper runner asked, "False?"
Kim tapped the floor twice, then scratched `3` into dust.
Third stair false.
They crawled through the grille and found a narrow utility shaft with physical rust, rat droppings, and one warm water pipe. The details had no owner seal and stayed in place when nobody looked at them.
The rescue team chose the dirty shaft.
No legal route knew where they were.
At Annex Four, Elara selected the brass bolt again.
Pela pulled the final black section through the red release.
The leash came out of Elara’s throat in one branching piece.
It struck the floor and tried to crawl toward the public majority field.
Pela pinned it under the crematory tray.
Elara stopped breathing.
Rina squeezed the bag on Elara’s printer-gear choice.
Her chest rose.
Elara’s eyes remained open.
The medic asked, "Leash removed. Current stop or continue support?"
Elara touched printer gear.
Continue bag.
She touched copper.
Removal ends.
Her right arm lay still. Her body sagged between Kikaru and Sefa. No control strip tightened. No supplied destination moved a joint.
Elara was free.
She could not breathe without a chosen person squeezing air into her.
The medic tested her right side only after Elara touched the brass bolt.
No finger movement.
Faint sensation at the wrist.
Her shoulder held no weight without Kikaru’s hand beneath it. Her spine bent if Sefa eased his support.
Elara looked at the motionless arm for five bagged breaths.
She used her left hand to write:
```
STILL MINE.
```
Caleb read the message at Central Shelter.
He put one hand against the local camera and left enough distance for the screen to remain only a screen.
"Still you."
Elara selected printer gear for the next breath. Her eyes closed after it, and the medical witnesses stopped all further testing.
Kim’s name disappeared from every emergency destination field.
She remained alive in a room without legal location, carried by physical hands.
The utility team reached a maintenance hatch marked only with a paint number. It opened into North Glass laundry storage, two buildings away from Kim’s former legal address.
No ambulance recognized her clearance. The team put her on a linen cart and took her to a local clinic under `unknown adult, conscious intermittently`.
Her name remained hers even when the form could not spend it.
Neither answer came from Caleb.
The hollow-center load lost both personal handles.
Emergency forms searched Caleb next.
He had no owner relationship to either woman, no accepted operator field, and no public consent under his name.
The forms moved upward to the verified count.
It entered the verified vote.
Every genuine yes became one slat.
Every genuine no became resistance around it.
Abstentions formed empty bolt holes.
The chamber system gave the count a temporary legal name.
```
PUBLIC MAJORITY 51.4.
EMERGENCY CIVIC SUBJECT.
```
People who had voted yes saw their individual forms disappear beneath the subject label. People who had voted no saw their resistance measured as part of the same chair.
Nobody had voted to become a person together.
Above Central Civic Shelter, a chair assembled from public count alone.
No person sat in it.
The valid majority became the final empty seat.
