My Home's Ancient Well Connects to the Martial Arts World
Chapter 92: Sister Chen’s Arrival
Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Sister Chen’s Arrival
After leaving the Changchun Martial Arts Hall, Ye Xing and Zhu Dazhuang got in the Porsche and headed back to Bilin Village.
Poplar trees lined both sides of the wide, flat concrete avenue. A gentle breeze rustled the green leaves. All sorts of vehicles traveled the road—private cars, heavy trucks, and passenger buses.
"Brother Xing, you’re fucking incredible! You took on the entire martial arts hall by yourself and knocked them all flat. Holy shit, that was amazing!" From the Porsche’s passenger seat, Zhu Dazhuang was ecstatic, his gaze filled with utter adoration. "Hey... Brother Xing, can I become your disciple? Could you teach me a move or two?"
Zhu Dazhuang looked at Ye Xing, his eyes a mix of hope and trepidation.
"Haha, you goofball. Teaching you a few moves is no problem, but let’s skip the whole master-disciple thing. We’re good brothers; that would just make things weird!" Ye Xing laughed. "In a couple of days, I’ll teach you a set of Longevity Fist. It can build up your physique, improve your overall fitness, and even extend your life."
Longevity Fist was an excellent Inner Breath Boxing Technique, one that integrated Fist Skill with Inner Strength. While practicing the forms, one also performed breathing exercises. With daily practice, it was possible to cultivate True Qi. Of course, Earth’s Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi was far too sparse. Even if one wanted to practice the breathing techniques, there was hardly any Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi to absorb, making it extremely difficult to cultivate True Qi on Earth. However, even without cultivating True Qi, the Longevity Fist could still strengthen the body. Reaching the Peak of the Body Refining Stage with it was no problem at all. It was several times more profound than so-called disciplines like yoga or Karate, and more than enough for Zhu Dazhuang.
"Thanks, Brother Xing! That’s awesome." Zhu Dazhuang was incredibly excited and full of anticipation. "By the way, Brother Xing, what’s the story with that Mingsheng Group? Why would they steal our grass carp feed? Could they be in the food service industry too?"
"Hm, that’s possible. But there are so many big companies in Fu City; I’ll have to look up which one Mingsheng Group is when I get back. Since they dared to come after us, they’ll have to pay the price sooner or later." A cold light glinted in Ye Xing’s eyes.
The Porsche shot forward, leaving car after car—buses and private vehicles alike—in its dust. Ye Xing was now a Martial Artist at the Martial Arts Second Realm Peak. His vision, hearing, reflexes, judgment, and all other physical attributes were far beyond those of an ordinary person. To him, high-speed driving was child’s play.
WHOOSH!
With the wind howling, the Porsche raced toward Bilin Village at top speed.
...
After returning to Bilin Village, Ye Xing walked Zhu Dazhuang home.
The moment the door opened, little Erhei started yapping, "WOOF WOOF," and pounced toward Ye Xing’s feet. It happily nudged his ankles with its little head, its tail wagging furiously.
"Brother Xing, why don’t you come in for some tea?" Zhu Dazhuang offered.
"Nah, I should get going. Make sure you rest up and take care of your injuries. I have a bottle of Healing Medicine here. You can apply it to the swollen areas, and they should heal up quickly." Ye Xing handed a bottle of Golden Wound Medicine to Zhu Dazhuang, then gave the little black dog a gentle nudge with his foot. He smiled, "little Erhei, let’s go. Time to head home."
With that, Ye Xing headed for the door. Little Erhei yapped, "WOOF WOOF," and quickly followed. Don’t be fooled by its short legs; that little guy was fast.
He hadn’t gotten far from Zhu Dazhuang’s house when his phone suddenly rang—
"*Jingle-jingle, you are my little, little apple, like the prettiest cloud in the sky...*"
Ye Xing pulled his phone from his pocket. It was a call from Sister Chen. He swiped the screen and answered.
"Hello, Ye Xing? Where are you? Are you free?" Sister Chen’s voice came through the phone.
"I’m around. Nothing too important going on. I’m in my hometown, Bilin Village, right now," Ye Xing replied.
"Oh, you’re in Bilin Village? Perfect! I’m almost there. Wait for me," Sister Chen said. The sound of rushing wind in the background suggested she was driving.
"Okay, sounds good. I’ll wait for you at the village entrance," Ye Xing said with a smile. He hung up and headed for the entrance to Bilin Village with little Erhei in tow.
「Ten minutes later, at the entrance to Bilin Village.」
A white Volkswagen pulled in from the road and stopped in the parking lot at the village entrance.
The car door opened and a well-dressed, curvaceous young woman with a small red leather bag slung over her shoulder stepped out. It was none other than Ye Xing’s former boss, Sister Chen of Red Phoenix Publishing Co., Ltd.
"Hey, Big Boss Ye! Long time no see. You seem to have gotten even more handsome!" Chen Feng said with a smile as she walked over to greet him.
Thanks to his experiences on the Martial Arts Continent, Ye Xing’s entire demeanor had begun to transform. If the old Ye Xing was merely a mild-mannered office worker fresh out of school, the current Ye Xing possessed a new, cool competence. His every action carried the aura of someone in a position of power.
"Haha, I’ve always been this handsome!" Ye Xing chuckled. "By the way, Sister Chen, what brings you to Bilin Village all of a sudden?"
"The company is expanding lately, and we’re facing a major transition. Since it’s the weekend, I wanted to go to Azure Rock Temple to burn some incense and pray for a successful career and good fortune." Chen Feng blinked. "So, how about it? Are you free to come with me?"
"Sure, why not. I haven’t been to Azure Rock Temple in a while myself. It’s the weekend, so it’ll probably be crowded." Ye Xing nodded. ’Besides, I don’t have anything urgent to do. A walk to Azure Rock Temple would be nice. The scenery there is great.’
Chen Feng smiled. "Thanks, then! Hey, when did you get a puppy? He’s so cute!"
Spotting little Erhei by Ye Xing’s feet, Chen Feng reached down to pick him up.
WOOF! WOOF WOOF WOOF!
Little Erhei immediately started barking fiercely, a faint aura emanating from its body.
"Erhei, Sister Chen is a friend! Don’t scare her!" Ye Xing quickly reprimanded the pup. Little Erhei was a Demon Beast, not some ordinary pet dog; it wouldn’t give anyone face except Ye Xing.
"He’s so fierce for a little guy! He’s just a tiny thing, and his bark is still squeaky. It’s so adorable! I have to hold him." Captivated by little Erhei’s cuteness, Chen Feng reached for him again.
Ye Xing rolled his eyes in exasperation. He picked up little Erhei himself, muttered a quick command, and then placed the pup in Sister Chen’s arms. He knew that if she had rashly tried to grab little Erhei, she probably would have gotten hurt.
Little Erhei struggled for a moment in Sister Chen’s arms before quickly settling down. The little fellow probably decided that being held by a beautiful woman wasn’t half bad—it was soft and comfortable. Its little head even nuzzled against Chen Feng’s ample chest from time to time, causing her face to blush in embarrassment. She wanted to put him down but couldn’t bear to part with the adorable little pup.
Azure Rock Temple was located on Yunli Mountain, which overlooked Bilin Village. There was some distance between the village and the mountain. Since the road was narrow, Ye Xing couldn’t be bothered to drive; besides, it was only a ten-minute walk.
Ye Xing then led Sister Chen and little Erhei toward Yunli Mountain, the two of them chatting as they walked.
"By the way, Sister Chen, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask. You’ve been in the business world a long time—do you know anything about the Mingsheng Group in Fu City?"
As they made their way to Yunli Mountain, a thought occurred to Ye Xing, and he asked the question.
