Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Inner Strength Breakthrough

The Purple Light Group shimmered, wreathed in a rosy mist. Ye Xing stepped inside.

Instantly, his vision went black as the scenery shifted around him.

In the next moment, Ye Xing found himself in the old well of his ancestral home on Earth.

After stowing the Purple Light Group Teleportation Gate in his Qiankun Bag, Ye Xing circulated his True Qi. He kicked off the bottom of the well, leaping from its opening like a great roc spreading its wings. He left the large iron shed and checked the kitchen and living room of his ancestral home, but there was no sign of little Erhei.

’Strange, where did Erhei go? Did filming start already?’ Ye Xing wondered, puzzled. He immediately took out his phone and dialed Director Zhang Yilin’s number.

Ye Xing and Director Zhang Yilin had exchanged contact information during their last collaboration meeting.

"Hello, is this Director Zhang?" Ye Xing asked. "Is my Erhei with you?"

"Ah, Ye Xing! Haha, that’s right. Little Erhei is here filming with me now," came Director Zhang Yilin’s voice over the phone.

"So soon? Didn’t you say filming wasn’t starting for another three days?" Ye Xing asked, confused.

"Haha, I couldn’t wait. We worked overtime the past couple of days and got preparations mostly finished, so we started ahead of schedule." Director Zhang Yilin laughed. "We’ve already begun shooting."

"Oh, is Erhei behaving over there? Has he thrown any tantrums?" Ye Xing asked.

"Not at all. Your cousin brought him over. Little Erhei is incredibly smart. Your dog is really something special, just brilliant. I’ve seen plenty of prized dogs, but I’ve never met one as smart as little Erhei. Sometimes, he can figure out what I want with just a look, or even a tiny gesture. He’s better than half my actors! And his talent for performing is out of this world. He’s a Divine Dog, a true Divine Dog, no question." Director Zhang Yilin’s voice was filled with excitement. "Ye Xing, I have a feeling that once this movie comes out, it’s going to be a massive hit!"

"Haha, that’s great to hear! By the way, Director Zhang, where are you filming now?" Ye Xing asked.

"We’re shooting on Gushan in Fu City," Director Zhang Yilin said. "The environment here is a perfect match for the script’s description, so we’re making use of the local scenery."

"Oh, it’s right here in Fu City? If I have time tomorrow, I’ll head over and take a look. I’d love to see what a film set is like," Ye Xing said.

"Really? You’d be more than welcome! If you grace us with your presence, I’ll even introduce you to a big star!" Director Zhang Yilin laughed.

After chatting with Director Zhang Yilin for a few more moments, Ye Xing hung up and dialed Wu Qiang’s number.

RING... RING RING!

The phone rang twice before the call connected.

"Hero Ye Xing!" Wu Qiang’s happy voice came over the phone. "I’ve already submitted the patent application for Longevity Fist, and it should get approved without any issues. Also, I’m planning to change the name of the Changchun Martial Arts Hall to the Changsheng Martial Arts Hall, and I’ll pick a date to reopen and start teaching students."

"Mm, that’s great news. Congratulations!" Ye Xing laughed. "By the way, Wu Qiang, were you able to get in touch with that arms dealer?"

"Contacted him a while ago. I’ll text you his information right now! He’s in New York, United States!" Wu Qiang said. "Hero Ye Xing, when are you planning to leave?"

"I’m leaving tomorrow!"

"Why don’t I go with you?"

"No, don’t worry about it. You focus on your martial arts hall. I’m just heading abroad for a bit and won’t be gone long," Ye Xing said gravely. "Just send me the arms dealer’s contact info. That’s all. I’m hanging up now, I need to book a flight!"

Ye Xing hung up the phone. He swiped across his screen and booked a flight to the United States for the following morning. Since he had already been planning to travel abroad, Ye Xing had long since taken care of his passport and other necessary documents. All he had to do was board the plane tomorrow.

The sun blazed high in the sky; it was noon. Ye Xing decided not to return to the Martial Arts Continent. He casually cooked and ate some Demon Beast Meat in the kitchen of his ancestral home, then went to his room, sat cross-legged, and began to cultivate the Innate Skill.

Ye Xing’s Cultivation had been stuck at the Martial Arts Second Realm Peak for some time now. Today, he was going to attempt a breakthrough to the Martial Arts Third Realm.

Beside the bed, the Little Purple Eagle’s lively eyes darted about. It quietly hopped off the bed on its little claws and started to head outside.

"Little Zhi, get back here! If you keep being naughty, I’m disowning you!" Ye Xing, who had been sitting cross-legged, opened his eyes and scowled at the little creature on the floor.

"CHIRP! CHIRP!" The Little Purple Eagle let out two pitiful cries, flapped its wings, and flew back to the bed. It stood beside Ye Xing and rolled its eyes dramatically, as if to say, ’I’m so bored, I’m sooooo bored.’

Ye Xing opened a Pill Bottle, took out an Upper-grade Spirit Pill, and offered it to the Little Purple Eagle. "Open up. Once you eat this Spirit Pill, you need to cultivate properly! You’re just a little thing. When are you ever going to grow up? You’re going to be the death of me!"

Ye Xing was still dreaming of riding a Flying Demon Beast, soaring across thousands of miles of mountains and rivers. Unfortunately, Flying Demon Beasts were far too expensive. They were notoriously difficult to capture; the moment those feathered creatures sensed danger, they’d just flap their wings and fly away. This made them incredibly rare. At the Beast Taming Pavilion, a Level 4 Flying Demon Beast cost no less than a Seventh-level Walking Beast-type Demon Beast. In terms of actual combat effectiveness, however, a Level 4 flying beast was clearly inferior to a Level 7 walking beast. As a result, very few Martial Artists on the Martial Arts Continent owned Flying Demon Beasts.

Even though Ye Xing was raking in money, he had no desire to spend a sum that could buy a Seventh-level Demon Beast on a mere Level 4 flying one. Besides, he had the Little Purple Eagle now. He just had to raise the little guy as part of his "raise-and-ride" project. Once the Little Purple Eagle matured, its insane speed would probably leave other flying beasts crying in the dust.

He swallowed a Qi Nourishing Pill and began to fully circulate the Innate Skill.

Hooo—

Haaa—

A slow inhalation, followed by a long exhalation. Inhaling pure qi, expelling turbid qi. With every breath, his True Qi circulated, an endless, self-sustaining cycle.

He cultivated like this, cycle after cycle. In the blink of an eye, the sun had set, casting a dim, yellow glow through the window as it dipped below the horizon.

Before long, dusk gave way to night, and darkness enveloped the land.

Ye Xing sat cross-legged in the Five Hearts Facing Heaven posture. Every so often, he would consume an Upper-grade Qi Nourishing Pill and then fully circulate the Innate Skill. The pills transformed into a steady stream of True Qi, fueling his push toward the Martial Arts Third Realm.

Time trickled by, and before he knew it, the night had deepened into its latter half.

Fine beads of cold sweat broke out on Ye Xing’s forehead, and his aura fluctuated erratically.

An hour later, a sudden change—

VMMMM!

The meridians throughout his body began to tremble violently. After several minutes of turmoil, they finally settled, and his True Qi became substantially thicker and purer.

’Hah, I’ve finally entered the Martial Arts Third Realm!’ A sharp glint flashed in Ye Xing’s eyes, revealing a hint of joy. He immediately resumed his cross-legged position to stabilize his new Realm.

After more than an hour of consolidation, a sliver of dawn’s fish-belly white light appeared on the horizon. The sky was growing brighter; morning was about to break.

’Time to head to Fu City!’ With a glint in his eye, Ye Xing washed his face, brushed his teeth, and had breakfast. Then, he got in his Porsche 911 and sped toward Luoxian County, where he got on the highway and headed straight for Fu City.
