Chapter 125: Tuoba Quan
Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Tuoba Quan
At the head of the main hall, a richly-dressed young master sat in an ornate armchair. He fanned himself with a white paper fan, his eyes leering at the dancers below. Flanking him stood two old men with Long Sabers at their waists.
"Excellent! Wonderful! Such fine dancing! I shall reward you all handsomely tonight, and I’ll be sure to shower each of you with my favor." The richly-dressed young master clapped and clicked his tongue. "Such beautiful dancing. I am truly brilliant, managing to hunt for treasure and have fun at the same time. Those fools on the mountain can only wait around like idiots, but it’s not like the treasure is appearing right this second. We’ll have our fun tonight; there’s still plenty of time to go up tomorrow."
Just as the richly-dressed young master was speaking, a commotion erupted from outside the mansion gates. It sounded like a large group was heading this way.
"What’s going on? What’s all that noise outside?" The richly-dressed young master frowned, his expression turning sour.
"It’s nothing. Perhaps the owner of this mansion has returned. Continue enjoying the dance, Young Master. The two of us will be enough to settle things."
The two old men who had been flanking the richly-dressed young master immediately gripped their sabers, left the hall, and headed for the Ye Mansion’s gates.
At that moment, outside the Ye Mansion’s gates, Ye Xing and his party had just stepped into the courtyard. They arrived just in time to see two old men with Long Sabers at their waists walking out of the main hall.
"Halt! This mansion is now our young master’s temporary residence. You are not to cause a disturbance," one of the old men shouted.
"Not cause a disturbance?" Ye Xing froze for a moment, then let out a laugh of pure indignation.
Xue Yong, standing beside him, was furious. "Fucking bullshit! You two old dogs! This Ye Mansion belongs to our master! You take over our home and then tell us not to disturb you? You sons of bitches!"
"Hmph. Our Young Master Tuoba deigning to use your mansion is an honor. Don’t fail to appreciate the favor," the old man on the right retorted coldly.
"Young Master Tuoba? Could you mean Tuoba Quan of Sunset City?" Ye Xing couldn’t help but ask.
"That’s right! I didn’t expect a country bumpkin like you to have heard of our young master’s name." The old man on the left said smugly, "Our young master is indeed Tuoba Quan. Our Tuoba Clan—"
"To hell with your Tuoba Clan! Who the hell is Tuoba Quan?!" Ye Xing said coldly. "Gale, go! Get rid of these two old fools for me."
"ROAR!"
The Gale Leopard let out a roar as a massive demonic aura erupted from its body. With a push of its four hooves, it transformed into a cyan blur and lunged at the two old men.
"What...? Such a terrifying demonic aura!"
The two old men were horrified. With a CLANG, they hastily drew the Long Sabers from their waists to defend themselves.
"CLANG!"
With a deafening sound, the Gale Leopard’s paw slammed against the old man’s Long Saber, unleashing immense Power.
The terrifying impact force traveled through the Long Saber. A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of the old man’s mouth. He felt as if his insides were on fire as he stumbled back six or seven steps before falling flat on his back, finally coming to a stop.
As for the other old man, he attacked from behind, attempting to sneak-attack the Gale Leopard.
"WHOOSH!"
The saber whistled through the air. Just as the Long Saber was about to strike the Gale Leopard’s body...
A flash of contempt passed through the Gale Leopard’s eyes. Its hind legs kicked out as fast as lightning. Before the old man’s Long Saber could land, the Gale Leopard’s hind leg, though it moved later, struck first, kicking him squarely in the chest.
"BANG! PFFT!"
The old man’s chest caved in at a visible rate. With who knows how many ribs broken, he vomited blood and was sent flying backward like a broken sack, smashing heavily onto the ground. It was impossible to tell if he was dead or alive.
...
Inside the Ye Mansion’s main hall, the richly-dressed young master was enjoying the dance, with two voluptuous women in his arms.
"Young Master Tuoba, let me feed you a grape!"
"Eat mine! My grapes are much tastier!"
"Yes, yes, good! I’ll eat them all! Hehehe, I’ll have both!"
Tuoba Quan was having the time of his life.
Just then, one of the old men came scrambling in from outside the hall, looking panicked.
"What’s the matter with you? I sent you out to solve the problem, what are you doing running back in here? You’re spoiling my fun—" The richly-dressed young master, Tuoba Quan, was in the middle of his sentence when his expression suddenly changed, his gaze fixed on what was in front of him.
He saw a young man in cyan robes with a Treasure Sword at his waist enter the hall, followed by a group of people.
He glanced at his own men. Of the two old guards he had sent out, one had scrambled back in a panic, blood trickling from his mouth and his face pale—he had clearly suffered a serious internal injury. As for the other, he was nowhere to be seen, his fate most likely grim. Tuoba Quan was well aware of his two guards’ strength. One had a Cultivation at the Martial Arts Fifth Realm, and the other had recently broken through to the Martial Arts Sixth Realm. It was these two who had injured the two Golden Tigers and forced them to flee earlier. Such strength was considered formidable even in Sunset City, and in the dozen or so surrounding small towns, they could do as they pleased, acting like kings. Both of these guards had been sent by the Tuoba Clan’s Patriarch—his grandfather—to protect him. Tuoba Quan usually relied on these two guards to throw his weight around.
Yet, with such strength, they had been defeated here, in this backwater mountain town of Phoenix Town. Tuoba Quan instantly panicked. ’I thought occupying a mansion in a small place like this was no big deal. Even if the mansion’s owner had some ability and owned two Golden Tigers, it shouldn’t have been anything I couldn’t handle. But now it seems I’ve picked a fight with the wrong person. The owner of this mansion is no simple character.’
"You... you must be the owners of this mansion," Tuoba Quan said, forcing himself to appear calm.
"That’s right. So, do you have some guidance for us, Young Master Tuoba?" Ye Xing said flatly, a hint of derision in his eyes.
"I wouldn’t dare offer guidance!" Tuoba Quan said. "I am Tuoba Quan, the future heir to the Tuoba Clan of Sunset City."
"I have long heard of Young Master Tuoba’s great name. It is an honor to finally meet you," Ye Xing said, cupping his fists.
"Not at all, not at all!" Seeing that Ye Xing seemed agreeable, Tuoba Quan assumed he was intimidated by the Tuoba Clan’s reputation. A smug look appeared on his face. "This mansion of yours is quite nice. I plan to borrow it for a few days. That shouldn’t be a problem, right? Don’t worry, I’ll only be borrowing it for a dozen days or so at most."
"Sure, no problem, no problem at all," Ye Xing said with a smile. "Xue Yong, Hong Hai, slap him."
Ye Xing’s change in tone was so abrupt that everyone in the hall was stunned for a moment. In the next instant, Hong Hai and Xue Yong understood his meaning and advanced on Tuoba Quan, radiating menace.
"Wait, what are you two doing!?" Tuoba Quan asked nervously.
"Haha, what are we doing? The master ordered us to slap your face, of course," Xue Yong sneered.
"You must have misheard." Tuoba Quan retreated while hastily shouting at Ye Xing, "I am Tuoba Quan of the Tuoba Clan! I’m from Sunset City! Tell your men to stop!"
