Chapter 103: Chapter 103: The Post Is on Fire

Used correctly, even a pistol could kill a Martial Artist of the Postnatal Nine Layers. The recent case with Zhao Tianxuan was the perfect example. At the time, Zhao Tianxuan was severely injured and poisoned. His mind was completely focused on circulating his energy to force out the poison, so his guard was way down. That’s how Ye Xing managed to ambush him and take him out with a single shot. But the fact remains that he was killed by Ye Xing’s pistol. And if a mere pistol could do that, there’s no telling what a more powerful, longer-range sniper rifle could accomplish. Then there were machine guns, assault rifles, submachine guns, grenades, and other military-grade weapons. If used well, they could drastically improve the martial strength of the White Cloud Mountain Ye Mansion—it would be a massive boost. ’And if I bury a few explosives and landmines around the mansion... any Martial Artist below the Innate Realm who comes calling is fucking dead.’

"If you don’t have to bring them back into the country, then it’s simple!" Wu Qiang couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. He said, "I know an American arms dealer. As long as you have enough money, you can get as many weapons as you want. He can even get his hands on things like bombs and rocket launchers."

"Mm, that’s great. Get in touch with him for me. I’ll make a trip abroad when I have some free time," Ye Xing said in a low voice.

He had three Qiankun Bags: one he bought at an auction, one from Zhao Tianxuan, and one he’d snatched from Miao Wuxie of the Five Poison Sect. With the space afforded by these three Qiankun Cloth Bags, bringing guns and ammunition from abroad to the Martial Arts Continent would be a piece of cake for Ye Xing.

After returning from Junhao Nightclub, Ye Xing took an Upper-grade Qi Nourishing Pill and began to meditate and cultivate his Inner Strength in his ancestral home. Thanks to his diligent cultivation over the past few days, Ye Xing’s True Qi was growing stronger by the day. He was getting closer and closer to breaking through to the Martial Arts Third Realm.

The night deepened, then began to fade.

Dawn bit through the lip of night, leaving a trace of blood across the horizon that slowly spread.

Before long, roosters crowed and dogs barked. Morning smoke curled up from the chimneys of Bilin Village as every household began to make breakfast. A few little kids were squatting at the village entrance, playing in the mud. After the adults finished their breakfast, they either shouldered their hoes or rode off on their tricycles and bicycles—some heading to the fields, others to their jobs.

Light streamed through the wooden window, illuminating the room in the ancestral home.

Ye Xing slowly opened his eyes, which shone with a bright spirit. After a night of cultivation, it was clear his True Qi and Inner Strength had improved significantly.

’It’s morning already? Time to get going. After I take care of the Mingsheng Group business, I’ll go meet up with those bastards.’ A smile touched Ye Xing’s lips as his mind drifted back to his university days. ’Time really flies. Half a year has passed in the blink of an eye.’

Ye Xing had graduated from Fushan University in Fu City, Fujian Province, which was a top-tier undergraduate institution. After graduation, most of his classmates stayed in Fu City to work, while only a few, like Ye Xing, returned to their hometowns. He had been working in Luoxian County and never had much time to visit Fu City. He hadn’t paid it much mind, and just like that, half a year had gone by. Thinking back now, he was actually a little nostalgic for his days in Fu City.

After quickly making some porridge in the kitchen and taking a few bites, Ye Xing packed his luggage and headed out.

"YAP! YAP!"

Suddenly, a series of soft, high-pitched barks came from behind him. It was little Erhei, who came scampering over. Wagging its tail, its chubby little body moved on four short legs, closely following Ye Xing’s steps like a little shadow. When Ye Xing took a step, it took a step; when Ye Xing stopped, it stopped too.

"Erhei, what are you doing? You want to come with me?" Ye Xing chuckled.

"YAP!" "YAP YAP YAP!"

Little Erhei’s eyes lit up. It nodded its little head vigorously, its tiny eyes shining with excitement as it wagged its little tail happily.

"Haha, alright then. Leaving you alone in the ancestral home would probably bore you to death." Ye Xing laughed and patted Erhei’s little head. "Come on!"

He left the ancestral home, locking the door behind him.

Ye Xing walked over to his Porsche, opened the door, and tossed his luggage inside. Little Erhei pushed off the ground with its short legs and, with a WHOOSH, jumped into the car as well, settling into the passenger seat.

It was early morning. The sun was just rising, casting a golden light that shimmered on the surface of the sea.

On the coastal highway, Ye Xing sped along in his Porsche, constantly overtaking other vehicles—trucks, buses, and even private cars. After reaching Luoxian County, he got on the expressway and headed straight for Fu City.

As usual, Xu Qing clocked in, sat down at her desk, turned on her computer, logged into QQ, and started her workday.

After several months of hard work, Xu Qing had completely shed her status as a workplace rookie. She could now handle her tasks with great proficiency, her performance was steadily improving, and not long ago, she had even been promoted to team editor for Group Three, much to the envy of many colleagues in the company.

"Whoa, everyone, come look at this! This post is blowing up! A Divine Dog appeared at the Half-Mountain Pavilion of Azure Rock Temple on Yunli Mountain in Bilin Village and scared off a ferocious tiger! It bravely saved a little girl from the tiger’s jaws!"

A female employee with a round face, sitting in the seat next to Xu Qing, exclaimed as she stared at her computer screen. This round-faced employee was a new colleague at the company and was the most lively and active of them all.

"Little Li, that has to be fake. How could a dog possibly scare off a tiger?"

"That’s ridiculous. The media these days will do anything for clicks. There’s no limit to their stupidity!"

"How could a dog scare off a tiger? You think it’s a Tibetan Mastiff? Even a Tibetan Mastiff is no match for a tiger!"

"It defies all logic!"

"It’s probably just clickbait!"

"Haha, a tiger that gets scared off by a dog must be a ’sickly kitten’ in quotation marks!"

"Uh, you guys make a good point. Now that you mention it, it really doesn’t seem real!" The round-faced girl nodded. Still, her curiosity got the better of her, and she clicked on the post to read it. There was a video inside, but the round-faced girl didn’t watch it right away, instead starting with the text as was her habit.

Line after line of text from the post filled her screen—

"Everyone, come see this! Come see this sensational news, this is a once-in-a-century event. This past Sunday, I went hiking with a few of my bros at Azure Rock Temple on Yunli Mountain. We were resting at the Half-Mountain Pavilion, and guess what I saw? A ferocious tiger! A huge one! Goddamn, from the looks of it, it was definitely a full-grown, incredibly fierce tiger. I was so scared I nearly shit my pants. My heart was about to jump out of my throat, and I just took off running. The whole Half-Mountain Pavilion descended into chaos. Almost everyone was terrified and fled for their lives down the mountain. But then, a divine plot twist happened that totally blew my fucking mind! I won’t say more. The video’s attached, see for yourselves. PS: Don’t blame me for the bad camerawork. My hand holding the phone was shaking the whole time, and to this day I still don’t know if it was from shock or from fear."
