My God-Level System Can Rebuild Civilization in the Apocalypse!
Chapter 287: Ant Queen Complains
Ants were originally creatures that shed their skins. After becoming extraordinary species, apart from their ability to control the ant colony, almost all the remaining abilities of these leaders were life-saving skills.
They also understood that they themselves were the weakness of the ant colony.
Under normal circumstances, Gaemi’s method would indeed have allowed her to escape the danger.
But now, it was useless. The Whispers did not affect the body.
After seeing that her method had no effect, Gaemi simply gave up.
"So what if it’s a little noisy inside my head? It doesn’t matter. I don’t use my brain much anyway. I have a boss above me. From now on, I can leave all the thinking to the boss."
With this thought in mind, Gaemi stopped paying attention to it. It was only now that she discovered she was not the only victim among the ants. Some of the stronger worker ants and soldier ants in the anthill had also been affected. There was even a honey-pot ant that had undergone a mutation.
It should be understood that there was also a hierarchy among the soldier ants and worker ants. The dirty and exhausting work was all done by the low-level worker ants. The nurse ants and resident ants inside the nest were carefully selected from the best of the best. Yet now, the nurse ants responsible for feeding the young dared to attack the ant eggs. Who could possibly tolerate that?
Some ants had died during this process. However, the greatest ability of these mutated ants was "brainwashing." Other than the Ant Queen, all the other ants in the anthill were tools. They barely even had brains, so how could they be brainwashed?
Therefore, their resistance naturally failed, and they were defeated by Gaemi.
Some of the ants that were still affected by pheromones were temporarily locked up by Gaemi. The rest were killed. The ant beneath Gaemi now was the mutated ant that had been discovered among the honey-pot ants.
Unlike the other mutated ants, honey-pot ants were originally a special type of soldier ant that had nothing but instincts and no brains.
They did not need to work. They usually hung upside down deep inside the anthill, and other ants would only pay attention to them when food was scarce. When the bodies of the honey-pot ants were touched by other ants, they would instinctively release honey, helping the ant colony survive a famine.
Their existence was simply that of living reserve supplies without any thoughts of their own.
After undergoing mutation, this ant still followed the same instinct.
Gaemi had originally thought that the honey it produced was no longer safe. She had even wanted to get rid of it. But the honey it released was simply too fragrant.
Most importantly, perhaps because extremes had a way of reversing themselves, after eating the honey it produced, Gaemi actually felt that the voices in her head were not as loud as before.
However, the mental state that Gaemi believed was almost back to normal still had serious problems in Joo Joowon’s eyes. Her speech was disorganized and out of order, as if her brain functions had become scrambled. Fortunately, she only spoke incoherently. Her rationality was still intact, and her understanding of things remained relatively clear.
After finally finishing her explanation, Gaemi immediately proudly showed Joo Joowon the anthill she had built. Her desire for praise was extremely obvious.
Naturally, Joo Joowon did not hold back and immediately praised her.
"Well done. As expected of the great general I value so highly. Now, let’s pack everything up and move."
Gaemi: ???
Huh???
Huh?!!!
Gaemi was confused and helpless.
She had never imagined that she would hear such a cold, unreasonable, and heartless statement from Joo Joowon.
If she remembered correctly, hadn’t they already moved once before?
Gaemi immediately forgot that she was still an inconveniently immobile pupa. She wriggled and crawled to the tip of the leaf, then excitedly raised the front of her body, trying to reason with Joo Joowon.
Help, what good ant moves houses every single day?!
Gaemi felt that Joo Joowon truly did not understand how difficult it was to dig a nest because he had never built one himself.
After all, this anthill had only reached its current state because she had dragged over every ant in the surrounding area. Countless ants had worked themselves to death, and of the original tens of thousands of worker ants, only this small number remained. Had she worked so hard for her own sake?
Who was the one who had told her to choose her own anthill back then?!
Could he act like an ant for once?!
Gaemi was extremely emotional and passionately poured out her complaints.
No one knew what she had gone through, but at this moment, her ability to express herself had become exceptionally good. More precisely, she had already reached the point where she could barely control her own mouth.
Under normal circumstances, Mental Power was completely controlled by its owner. As long as the owner’s thoughts were clear, the messages transmitted through Mental Power would be even more accurate and easier to understand than written or spoken words.
However, Gaemi was different. Even her inner thoughts were being revealed along with her words, and she kept talking without pause like a machine gun.
To put it more clearly, in a single sentence where she tried to reason with Joo Joowon, there were probably three to five passionate insults mixed in. In any case, her curses were quite filthy. Yet strangely, after finishing her insults, she could still smoothly return to the original topic.
This was the first time Joo Joowon had discovered that ants could curse at people. He also did not know whether Gaemi’s vocabulary had increased because of the influence of the Whispers. She could actually keep talking without stopping, completely unlike her previous self, who could barely force out one complete sentence after half a day. Her way of expressing herself was simply a little strange.
