Chapter 89: Fighting Two Peak One Seal Knights!

  • Next Chapter

WHOOSH!

Roderic shot forward, wind surging around his ears.

Two more ordinary soldiers stood between him and the Peak One Seal Knights.

The first raised his spear, stabbing it towards him with all his might.

Roderic slid underneath it.

His eyes locked onto the spear above, his blades already moving.

SHHK! SHHK! SHHK!

The spear split into several small pieces.

Just then, the second soldier’s sword shot towards his neck.

Roderic barely even glanced at it.

He only lightly tilted his body, his gaze locked onto the guy’s legs.

WHOOSH!

The sword missed him by several inches.

But the same couldn’t be said for Roderic.

’’ARGH!’’

The man cried out in pain, stumbling back with wide eyes.

His hands shot towards his right leg... or at least the stump that remained.

’’NO—’’

Just as the soldier was about to scream, a hooked blade plunged into his skull.

At the same time, the other soldier met a similar fate, though his was far more painless.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Both blades flew back to Roderic’s hands as he continued running.

His gaze remained fixed on the Peak One Seal Knights that were now only two dozen meters ahead of him.

’’COME ON!’’ one shouted, banging his sword onto his shield.

Thick blue aura immediately surrounded both his shield and longsword.

Roderic tightened his grip around his blades.

For a split second, his gaze flickered behind the two men.

Gareth was slowly being led away through the forest by the torchbearer.

’Fuck!’ he cursed. ’I can’t let him get away!’

Gritting his teeth, golden aura appeared around his blades’ edges once more.

Without hesitation, he swung both out towards them.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Two massive golden arcs shot through the sky in a cross-like shape.

But the knights in front of him weren’t that simple.

Both already stood side by side, pouring tons of aura into their shields.

BOOM!

The arcs slammed into their shields.

Both knights were immediately pushed backwards.

Their boots dug deep into the ground, carving long trails through the dirt as they desperately resisted the overwhelming force.

’’HAHHH!’’ one shouted, his veins bulging.

The second knight gritted his teeth, even slamming his shoulder against the shield to keep it from moving.

That’s when they finally saw it.

The golden arcs slowly started dimming.

’’HOLD IT!’’ the first knight shouted.

Several small cracks began spreading across their shields, their own aura flickering unsteadily.

BOOM!

With one final burst of aura, both knights pushed their shields forward.

The golden arcs finally shattered.

Both men immediately lowered their shields, breathing heavily.

’’We blocked it...’’

Suddenly, the first knight’s expression changed.

Roderic was nowhere to be seen anymore!

’’Where—’’

BOOM!

Several meters to the left, the ground cracked.

Roderic burst forward, golden aura gathered around the tip of his right hook.

’’SHIT!’’

The first knight hurriedly raised his damaged shield while twisting his body away from the attack.

BOOOOM!

Roderic’s hook slammed into the shield.

The already damaged metal exploded apart instantly.

Chunks of metal shot through the air in every direction as a large hole opened up in the center.

But the knight had long released his grip.

Even before the impact, he’d thrown himself backwards, allowing the shield to freely fly away from him.

Roderic’s eyes narrowed.

’Both of them are seasoned knights,’ he thought. ’This won’t be easy.’

He immediately tried to rush after him, hoping to finish one instantly.

But the second knight was already there.

’’GET BACK!’’ he shouted, rushing forward at full speed.

BAM!

The man slammed his shield directly into Roderic’s side with all his strength.

’’UGH!’’

Roderic was knocked several meters away, his boots scraping violently across the dirt before he managed to regain his balance.

By then, the first knight had already recovered.

Roderic clicked his tongue.

’These two work together well,’ he thought, narrowing his eyes. ’If I want to catch that fucker, I’ll have to kick it up a notch... even if I exhaust a lot of aura.’

The two knights stood side by side again.

Only this time, one was without his shield.

Without hesitation, Roderic charged towards them.

Golden aura gathered around the tip of his left blade within seconds.

’’Go!’’ the first knight shouted.

The shield bearer rushed forward right away, bright aura lighting up his shield.

The first knight followed closely behind him.

As the distance closed, Roderic twisted his body, swinging his right hooked blade to the side of the shield.

CLANG!

Roderic’s hook landed perfectly behind the shield’s edge.

Using his full strength, he pulled the shield aside.

At the same time, his other blade was already headed straight for the man’s shoulder, the golden aura surrounding the tip only growing brighter.

Just as the knight’s eyes began to widen, his comrade shot past him.

WHOOSH!

The longsword shot forward with precision.

Roderic hurriedly twisted aside.

WHOOSH!

The blade’s edge just barely missed his neck.

As the man pulled back his sword, Roderic stumbled back a step.

Before he could counter, the man’s sword was already heading for him at lightning speed.

’Technique!’ he thought, quickly jumping back.

WHOOSH!

The blade tore through his clothes around his chest.

But instead of following it up with another attack, the knight raised his longsword above his head.

’’HAAAH!’’ the man shouted.

Almost every trace of the man’s aura rushed towards the sword.

Roderic’s eyes narrowed.

He quickly found his footing and rushed towards the man.

’’NO YOU DON’T!’’ the shield bearer shouted, desperately rushing forward.

His aura burst brightly around his shield, clearly using a technique of his own.

But Roderic wasn’t just going to let that happen.

He quickly tossed his right blade high into the sky towards the side.

Just as he was about to meet the man’s shield, Roderic gritted his teeth.

Without hesitation, he kicked off the ground, diving to the man’s left.

’’WHAT?!’’ The knight looked down in shock.

Roderic’s eyes lit up.

As he landed in the mud, he raised his empty right hand.

WHOOSH!

SHHK!

His hooked blade returned to his hand.

Only now... it was dripping with blood.

’’AAARGH!’’

CLANG! CLANG!

One of the man’s arms dropped to the ground, while his other hand hung loosely from his wrist, connected by little more than skin.

Roderic didn’t even have time to finish him.

A violent surge of aura erupted just a bit ahead of him.

His expression shifted instantly.

’Shit!’

The other knight had closed the distance, bringing down his aura sword.
