Anton was delighted that there was no actual time limit for him to complete the mission. Lemuel told him that it would still be better if he completed it as quickly as possible so he could become an Initiate Traveler and gain access to the next set of spatial spells he needed to learn in order to progress.

The second book of the Spatial Magic Meditation Array, which covered the third and fourth circles, would be given to him once he advanced to the Initiate Rank. An Apprentice Tutor would also be assigned to him.

Even before Anton completed the mission, Lemuel was already treating him as an equal, as though he had already reached the Initiate Rank. The members of the Traveler’s Haven organization weren’t particularly strict about ranks anyway. It was normally the Novices and Initiates who were more conscious of such distinctions.

Lemuel told him that he felt a little sad that Anton had only been his student for a few months.

“What is the average length of time a Novice stays a Novice?” Anton asked Lemuel.

“Normally, it’s around two years. A typical Novice wouldn’t have a high wizardry rank and would need to learn combat spells as well,” Lemuel replied.

The fact that Anton would only remain a Novice for around three months wasn’t unique, but it was certainly rare.

Once Lemuel had provided him with all the details of his rank-up mission, Anton didn’t delay and left the Traveler’s Haven city within a city.

He was glad that he was finally allowed to leave.

The house he had purchased near a park had also been registered by the organization with Remuth as a location where a traveler could use the Gate spell.

Anton planned to return to Rose Manor first using his Town Portal Scroll. Then, he would use the Spatial Coordinate Determination spell to obtain the manor’s coordinates, which he could use with the Gate spell in the future.

While walking toward his cottage, Anton thought about how glad he was that he had chosen Traveler’s Haven as the organization he joined.

The other organization located in Remuth, the one Paul and Eric had applied to, was also a neutral organization, but they focused more on commerce.

Anton wouldn’t have minded joining it either, especially after learning that they operated businesses in different dimensions. Still, he preferred Traveler’s Haven because they focused on traveling, which meant they were primarily explorers.

The different organizations in Izmorta had different areas of focus. Some were dedicated to conquering other planets and dimensions.

Anton had once asked Lemuel what would happen if a location discovered by their organization was also discovered by another organization.

Lemuel told him that the matter was complicated and would be taught to him by a higher-ranking tutor once he advanced further through the ranks.

It wasn’t time for him to learn about such matters yet because, as a Novice or Initiate Traveler, he would only be traveling to different locations within this world.

Once he arrived at his cottage, Anton found no signs that anyone had disturbed the place.

His cottage had become extremely dusty, but it took him less than an hour to thoroughly clean it using the Cleaning spell he had adapted and now listed under his Sorceress character.

When his cottage was clean, Anton thought it was a little sad to leave it unoccupied.

He considered hiring someone to look after the cottage and decided that was what he would do.

There was a tiny cabin behind his cottage that could serve as a home for a small family. Anton left his cottage and returned to the place where he had purchased it.

It was the only place he could think of that might be able to assist him in hiring servants he could trust to look after his cottage.

When he arrived, Anton didn’t see the person who had sold him the cottage. However, when an employee learned that he needed assistance finding servants for the cottage he had purchased through their agency, they were more than happy to help him in exchange for a commission.

It wasn’t part of the real estate business’s official services, but their agents were allowed to conduct side businesses. Helping customers find servants was one of them.

Anton didn’t have to leave the man’s office. He simply had to wait for the agent to find qualified candidates for him.

The realtor provided him with drinks and snacks before leaving, and Anton spent the waiting time watching a movie.

When the realtor returned, he brought a family of three: a couple and their son.

The couple looked a little destitute, at least judging from their appearance and circumstances.

The realtor admitted that the husband was a very distant relative of his, but he knew enough about the family to assure Anton that they were trustworthy. The real estate agent even offered to act as their guarantor.

Anton interviewed the family and learned that they came from a small village that had been destroyed by monsters.

He sighed when he thought about the fact that this world, despite being filled with wizards and warriors, still had places that could be destroyed by monsters.

Thankfully, most of the villagers had managed to escape.

Ekios, his wife Lelaine, and their six-year-old son, Derion, had to travel for an entire week to reach Remuth. They had lost most of the belongings they had managed to bring with them during the journey.

They had only arrived a few days ago. So far, Ekios hadn’t managed to find a job and was still looking for one, while Lelaine remained in the small room they had rented and took care of their son.

During the interview, Anton realized that both Ekios and Lelaine were uneducated.

They couldn’t even read, although Lelaine could perform simple arithmetic. She was extremely proud of that ability because she had been one of the few people in her village who could do so.

Anton felt that they seemed honest enough and decided to hire them, but he needed more information from the realtor.

He told Ekios and Lelaine to wait outside before asking Ekios’s cousin to return.

“I’ve decided to hire them, but I need more details from you.”

The first thing Anton asked the realtor for was the contract stating that he would act as a guarantor for Ekios and his family.

The agent had already prepared the documents while Anton was interviewing Ekios and his wife.

Anton then asked the agent about the standard wages for employees such as Ekios and Lelaine.

Since Anton had already introduced himself as a member of Traveler’s Haven, the agent treated him with considerable respect and was certain that he would be an honest employer.

Anton was a little surprised by how low the wages were for people like Ekios and his wife.

He then asked the man how many coins it would take to support a family of three for a couple of years, specifically in terms of food. He wanted the amount to be generous enough that they could afford healthy meals.

The budget the agent gave him for a family of three was still ridiculously small by Anton’s standards.

In truth, Anton had never learned how to budget since transmigrating to this world. His Diablo System allowed him to earn a tremendous amount of wealth, and he could spend as much as he wanted on anything he desired.

He had even managed to purchase a manor only a few weeks after arriving in Ormunda.

After learning everything he wanted to know, Anton paid the agent. The realtor’s face immediately lit up because of Anton’s generosity.

Anton then asked the agent whether he knew where his cottage was located.

The realtor replied that the Librarian’s Cottage was well-known enough that he had no trouble identifying it.

Anton gave the realtor enough funds to assist Ekios, Lelaine, and their son in purchasing clothes appropriate for servants working for a member of Traveler’s Haven.

Anton also asked how he could use his status as a member of Traveler’s Haven to protect Ekios and Lelaine.

The agent explained that they could be provided with documentation stating that they were under the protection of a member of Traveler’s Haven. Ekios or Lelaine could carry the document with them whenever they went outside.

The document would only need to be authenticated with a stamp from Anton’s Traveler’s Haven Badge.
