My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 941
Several more weeks passed, and Anton received confirmation from Lemuel that he was becoming proficient in the five spells Master Vernatu had given him.
Anton could basically cast Blink the same way he had been using the Sorceress Teleport spell. He had also successfully formed his Gate spell after following Lemuel’s lessons.
He had to use the coordinates that were given to him. The first coordinate was in a special room set up for Spatial Gates, while the second was on an uninhabited island in the ocean that the members of Traveler’s Haven used as a testing site for Gate spells for their Novices.
Before Anton was allowed to cast the Gate spell, Lemuel needed to make sure that he could cast Anchor with ease. Although the Anchor spell supposedly wasn’t necessary to cast every time, since its main purpose was to stabilize spatial fluctuations in an area, it had become a practice among the members of Traveler’s Haven to always cast it before creating a Gate. Doing so allowed them to ensure that the portal they created would remain stable.
Anton had also learned how to determine the specific coordinates of various places using the Spatial Coordinate Determination spell, but so far, he had only practiced it in the rooms specifically designed for training with the spell.
He was delighted that his accuracy was incredibly high.
Because of Anton’s speed in learning the spells, Lemuel told him that once he completed the rank-up mission, his traveler rank would advance to Initiate. Unfortunately for Anton, even though Lemuel believed he was ready, they would still need Vernatu’s approval before he could undertake his rank-up mission. They received confirmation from Anton’s teacher that it would still take another week or two before Vernatu could attend to him.
In the meantime, Lemuel tested Anton’s combat abilities. After about an hour of testing, Lemuel concluded that Anton’s combat abilities were among the best he had ever seen.
Basically, during their duel, Anton had trampled Lemuel despite the two of them being Supreme Rank wizards. This made Lemuel admit that Anton didn’t need to learn any more offensive spells.
Since Lemuel had taught him everything he needed to know and it would take some time before Master Vernatu assigned him his rank-up mission, Lemuel simply advised him to continue practicing his spatial spells.
Anton was diligent with his meditation because he wanted to solidify the second circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation Array in his mind. He wanted to rank up as soon as possible so he could gain access to the spells that would allow him to create a Gate leading to other worlds in different dimensions.
He was simply too excited to begin traveling to other worlds.
At the very least, once he ranked up to Initiate, Anton would be allowed to leave the premises of the Traveler’s Haven city within a city.
That would be the time he could visit home and fulfill some of his obligations, such as providing his family with more movies so they wouldn’t run out of films to show their customers, before gallivanting off to other worlds.
Anton’s batchmates had been complaining about the fact that, after they watched the Avatar film franchise, he had been busy studying to accommodate their requests for more films.
Since he had basically completed all the studies he needed as a Novice Traveler after around three months, the only thing he needed to do while waiting for Master Vernatu to assign him his rank-up mission was practice his spatial spells. That meant he could turn his attention to something else.
So, Anton told Maura and some of his batchmates that there would be another movie-watching event once the weekend arrived.
Anton had already planned to let his batchmates watch the greatest movie trilogy in existence: The Lord of the Rings. He also planned to stay and watch their reactions to the first movie in the trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring.
He knew that his batchmates would probably love the films, since everyone who had seen them loved them. Anton also thought that they would fuel the Novices’ desire to become multidimensional travelers. Finding a world similar to Middle-earth was certainly a worthy endeavor in Anton’s opinion, even though their world had certain similarities to Middle-earth.
When the day of the movie-watching event arrived, Anton wasn’t surprised that the audience was larger than it had been when he first let them watch the Avatar movies.
The number of people was so large that there were already plans to hold the next movie-watching event at an even larger venue.
Anton had already shared that the new franchise he would show his batchmates was a trilogy.
Just like when they first watched the first Avatar film, they prepared enough food for everyone. Basically, Maura and the others managed to gather enough funds to prepare a feast for everyone. Once dinner began, the movie-watching event felt more like a party.
During the gathering, Anton learned that he was the fastest among his batchmates to solidify the first circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation Array. He was also the first to become proficient in the Blink, Gate, Anchor, and Spatial Coordinate Determination spells.
It wasn’t something Anton could be overly proud of because, aside from learning the spatial spells, his batchmates also needed to learn offensive and defensive spells that would allow them to survive their missions.
The fact was that most of his batchmates’ wizardry ranks weren’t particularly high. Anton was one of the few who possessed a very high rank.
The average rank of Novice Travelers was below the Archmage Rank. That meant it would probably take them years to climb the traveler ranks because Lemuel had admitted that the minimum requirement for a Novice to advance to Initiate was to reach at least one or two levels below the Archmage Rank.
Anton’s Supreme Rank would allow him to advance through the traveler ranks faster, and the fact that he was already highly proficient in combat spells was a huge advantage.
Once the movie started, Anton didn’t leave. He really wanted to see their reactions to his favorite trilogy, and, as expected, everyone was fascinated by the movie’s story.
When the movie ended, a lot of people gathered around Anton to speak with him. They wanted to know when the next movie-watching event would happen, and, as usual, many of them wanted it to happen as soon as possible.
Everyone was greatly surprised when Anton told them that Maura could decide when the next movie-watching event should happen so they could watch the next movie in the trilogy, The Two Towers.
Maura already knew that Anton was only waiting for Master Vernatu to assign him the mission that would allow him to advance to Initiate Rank. Once he received that mission, Anton would probably have no more time to let them watch movies.
Because of that, Maura scheduled the next movie-watching event for the following night, and everyone was extremely delighted.
Just like before, Anton wasn’t planning to attend the next movie-watching event. He would instead focus on his Spatial Magic Meditation so he could progress in solidifying the second circle as soon as possible.
Anton’s current daily routine was simple. He would spend his mornings meditating, then spend a couple of hours completing the daily missions of his Wizard Character in the Diablo Immortal portion of his Diablo System while waiting for the next ladder season to start. In the afternoon, he would practice his spatial spells.
The best part was that his days were long because he only needed to sleep for around three hours thanks to his Pearl of the Ocean Magic item.
The next day, Maura arrived to get The Two Towers from him, and Anton changed his mind. He decided to join his batchmates in watching the movie.
Since they wouldn’t be Novice Travelers for much longer, he thought he would spend a little time with them.
He still didn’t consider his batchmates close friends because, in truth, he had only spent a short amount of time with them so far. They had all been too busy studying to develop particularly close relationships.
However, he knew that over the years, they would probably become some of his most important connections.
