My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 940
Anton spoke with Lemuel regarding the movies he had been sharing with his batchmates. He asked whether he should let them continue watching his films.
He told his tutor about his doubts regarding the movie screenings. His family had plans to expand their cinema business, and if he continued allowing people to watch his films for free, he worried that he might be undermining the potential of his family’s business.
“Since you haven’t been charging anyone to watch your films, you can set a limit, such as stopping once all of the Avatar films have been shown. After that, you can let your friends watch your movies once in a while,” Lemuel said.
“Why not stop now?”
“Well, since you’ve already told your batchmates that you’ll let them watch all the films in... What do you call them again? A film franchise?” Lemuel asked.
“Then it’s best to follow through,” Lemuel advised.
Anton thought it was probably best to follow his tutor’s advice.
Besides, if Anton were being honest, he thought it would probably take years for Romina to expand the cinema business across the continent of Izmorta.
He had been informed that Romina planned to expand first into the kingdom of New Drennor and, after that, into the newly rebuilt kingdom of Mendoza.
In the meantime, Anton thought it was best to follow his father’s advice regarding learning to live his life without constantly communicating with his family.
Anders and Anna had both told him that, since they were now busy increasing their power in Ormunda, it didn’t matter too much if Anton focused on himself and stopped involving himself so much with the family.
It would be enough for him to communicate with them once in a while.
If there was ever a need for any of them to talk to him, such as Romina needing more movies or something similar, they could always inform him through the primitive magical item they used to communicate: a pair of earrings that changed color whenever the other earring was activated.
Once Anton saw the earring in his possession change color, he could contact his father, Anna, or even Paul and Eric through the game they had created in the non-ladder multiplayer section of the Diablo II portion of his Diablo System.
At first, Anton thought he would need to prioritize finding a much better communication tool, but Anders told him that the earrings were sufficient since they could communicate through his Diablo System.
It was also better that the item they used remained simple because it would help Anton wean himself off his dependence on constantly being in contact with his family.
Anton felt a little pathetic and sad when even his father started telling him to grow up and leave the family.
Of course, Anton knew that he was always welcome to return to Rose Manor. The manor would always be his.
But since Anton had already found a goal for himself, it was best for him to focus on it.
After a few weeks, Anton’s batchmates had finished watching all of the Avatar films.
They were disappointed when Anton followed through on what he had told them before: the movie screenings would become less frequent because they were all supposed to be busy learning the skills they needed to become travelers.
They could still watch movies once in a while to unwind, but it simply couldn’t happen every week anymore.
By then, the first circle of Anton’s Spatial Magic Meditation Array had already solidified in his mind, and he found that it greatly improved his ability to cast spatial spells, including those from his Diablo II characters.
He had already learned Blink, Gate, Anchor, and Spatial Coordinate Determination.
Anton had never encountered any difficulty memorizing spells, especially when he combined his efforts with the Meditation Aura of his Paladin character. However, he still needed to learn the principles behind spatial spells so he could avoid making mistakes when casting them.
Mistakes while casting spatial spells tended to be fatal, so it was important for travelers to master them to the point where they could cast them without making any errors.
Anton’s Diablo II characters’ spells didn’t have such issues with casting errors because his system was the foundation that made them extremely stable. Regular spells were different.
The obvious solution was for Anton to study the spell structures of spatial spells so he could etch them into the spell tab of his Diablo II characters.
However, when he examined the spell structures, he was intimidated by their complexity and magnitude.
Lemuel told him that Blink and Anchor were Archmage-level spells, while Gate and Spatial Coordinate Determination were Supreme-level spells.
Anton had only recently started studying the spell structures of novice spells, so it would probably be a long time before he became proficient enough to etch them into his Diablo System.
What flabbergasted Anton was that when he started learning the principles behind the first spell he had to master—Blink—he discovered that it involved studying mathematical formulas.
At first, he thought there was no chance he would be able to understand it.
When he was Anthony Saunders back on Earth, he had never been a genius. He was actually far from it.
However, during the first few lessons, Anton noticed that his learning and computational abilities were remarkably high. He became extremely happy about this, even though Lemuel told him that his abilities were only average.
Anton knew that Lemuel expected him to be better simply because he had managed to reach such a high wizardry rank at such a young age.
The only significant advantage he had over the other members of his batch was that he didn’t need to study offensive and defensive spells.
His Diablo II spells already covered those areas.
Lemuel did tell him that, in the grand scheme of things, speed wasn’t an important factor for travelers who were also powerful wizards.
Time was on their side. For long-lived people like them, there was enough time to learn everything they needed to become effective travelers.
Anton was delighted by the huge difference between the Traveler’s Haven organization and the black organizations he had read about in novels.
There was no practice of killing members simply because they failed to progress in their studies.
Given enough time, the people accepted into the organization would eventually become effective travelers.
Lemuel finally revealed to Anton that the exams and interviews conducted during the acceptance process were not the primary factors determining whether someone would be accepted.
Instead, the organization placed greater importance on the history and background of the applicants.
Anton’s record was clean and readily accessible, allowing anyone important to retrieve his background information without difficulty.
He had also been a major contributor to the elimination of the enormous threat posed by the Undead Coalition.
His background, contributions, and power were the reasons Vernatu had accepted him as a direct student.
Although Anton felt that the title was merely nominal, considering he had never actually received a lesson from the Master Traveler.
When he mentioned this to Lemuel, his tutor rolled his eyes at him.
“You’re a fool if you expected a master to personally teach novices. You’ll need to reach a higher rank as a traveler before you can even aspire to receive direct lessons from Vernatu,” Lemuel told him.
Even though Anton was learning a great deal from his lessons on spatial spells, Lemuel was still impressed by how quickly he had mastered Blink.
In truth, two things allowed Anton to cast the Blink spell so effortlessly.
First, he had already solidified the first circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation Array in his mind.
Second, he was already accustomed to casting the Teleport spell from his Sorceress skill tree, which was largely similar to Blink.
